No need to worry as PBA commissioner will always be there to save refs ass. If there's any investigation, I'm pretty sure it will be quick to forget, Com. Marcial can't do anything against MVP's group of company, we know that right?

They will not do anything if the order is coming from them to rig the game. PBA is known to be a rigged basketball league so it's not surprising to see a ref trying to favor a certain team to win, whether it's Pangilinan or Cojuangco's team, it doesn't matter as long as the order is coming from above.

Yes, this is one reason that I don't watch the PBA to be honest in the last couple of years, on the Pangilinans and Cojuangcos are always in the finals. And most of the time they are giving favors by the refs and even the commissioner himself. Gone are the days wherein it was really that competitive and players are really literally go and kill themselves inside the court just to get a win (yeah, maybe I'm absurd, but you know what I mean). Or maybe I really old school and have seen the early years of the PBA and now I can't understand how the league turn out to be like this.

They are controlling this league, the fact that they have plenty of teams, only tells they are in control, just like a corporation where they own the majority of the stocks, they always have the voting power and influence. Well, I hope they'll change this league for the better, only one team for an owner, that will make the league more competitive and more independent.

Money will always speak and there is too much politics with PBA, I'm just wondering if those big companies will really fight just because of the miss calls with the referees, I'm sure they also have a deal in private, after all they are all business men who knows how to deal with this kind of situation.

It's just sad to see the wrong calls and the effort of the players are being wasted. Well, what we can expect for PBA though they can suspend that referee but I'm sure they will not do anything to address this issues, they will just ignore it.
Makes it unfortunate. I won't say I miss the old days in this league 'coz what's happening at the present was also evident before as what my father have told me (he's a Ginebra fan btw for more than a decade). Money is power in the Philippines no matter what industry that is, it will always rule which kills the enjoyment of everything. Right now there are many on going leagues and on the others, they are worse to the extent wherein some professional players are taking an eye with what is happening and being seen on national television. When it comes on PBA to be specific, I guess politics is more evident with the players' line up in the first place. You can see teams which are full of 'big names' (well it is not really a bad thing if we are talking about business, the franchise can just afford buying whoever they want), which somewhat kills the excitement. Even before the playoffs you could already expect whose teams would meet in the finals LOL.

However, if you'd get use to it, you'll just find a way to atleast enjoy a bit. There are still players who are really good despite of not being in the spotlight.

With McDaniels' entry to the Meralco Bolts, i could say that they are now a serious contender for the championship trophy, they just need to win most of their remaining games as the standings right now is pretty much tight in the middle and yeah that win on the Dragons was the booster shot that they really needed.

KJ McDaniels is really superb. We already witnessed how good he is during his time with TNT and NLEX, and Meralco has a good decision to replace their import before it's getting too late. At least they can still have a chance to avoid being eliminated as long as they will establish continuous wins.

With Mcdaniel's return, Meralco's chance to be back in competition is now possible. Although they will really need to undergo as task tough and hard challenges as they really end up in the lower standing at this conference.

Yeah, his impact as a leader can bring Bolts to a competitive stand, though it's tough now since they needed to keep winning for them to get the spot to move forward, maybe yes it's doable but McDaniels alone can't do it he needs all the locals to play their respective roles in order to snatch the place for the playoff.

I missed the game of Dragons and I've seen they've lost but what has happened when there's the referee there that's now on the investigation?
What was that wrong call that has been given by that referee for that game? A lot of bashing I'm starting to see again on the refs and the PBA again, about this "cooking" thing "activated".

Who here aside from me put a bet on the Bolts before the game against the Dragons? Cheesy. Congratulations to us. I entered at around 4.06 odd I think, and I won.
If you are watching PBA for quite some time especially when it's a conference where there is an import, you already know what McDaniels can give to his team. He led TNT and NLEX to top spots when he played and now, he is with Bolts that is at the bottom. I just believe in him and put a bet on him and luckily, I won.

Now with regards to the Bolts as a whole, it will be hard for them, but they can still enter the playoffs. They already have 5 losses and for a team to enter the playoffs, it has to be at least 6 wins to have a chance. They only have 5 games left so in order for them to at least have a chance, they need to win at least 4 of their remaining 5 games. It is doable, but it is hard.

We are not wrong with your expectation, KJ McDaniels is the answer for the Meralco's struggle, beating the Dragons is not an easy job but they were able to do it. Now, I can say that Meralco can be a championship contender team, this conference has become more unpredictable because of many teams that have good imports.

If we look at the https://pba.ph/standings, it's very close, so it's hard to predict.

For tonight's game I have bet for NLEX @2.08 against a young and gutsy Converge.

Dragons vs Bolts
Northport vs Rain or Shine

These are the games tomorrow, the first game is quite exciting because if McDaniels will, things are going to be hard for the Dragons despite the fact that they have been dominating the teams they beat in their past games. By the way, the betting spread are below.

Dragons -10.5
ROS -3.5

You got 0-2.

Meralco beat the Dragons by 3 points, wow... their import is really legit because he lead the team by scoring 31 points and spoil Nicholson's 50 points performance. I'm wondering what's the ML odds for Meralco.

Also, ROS win but did not cover.  Sad

Good amount of money is awaiting if Japan or Korea teams already scout him. Look how huge the Ravena's are taking and Wright is enjoying right now.

Maybe Williams is seeing other options for him or it's just another drama. We never till there's an update from both parties.

For sure, and with what is happening now with him he would just choose not to stay and look for better opportunities abroad. He was in a similar situation with Ray Parks Jr., now he is already happily playing abroad, so most likely that's what we will see soon.
Williams can have a good opportunity playing abroad as well, that’s a lot of money while you are going to be recognize as well, if this is just a drama I can say that it’s not working good for them. Many players are doing great right now to attract foreign teams, we cannot blame them for considering to play abroad who offers more compare to PBA. Well, this should be address properly by PBA if they still want to retain the good players.
Sooner or later we will see more big names who will be practical in terms of earnings from this sport, look how this college kids moving right away to overseas league, they are now bringing huge amount of money and they are also enjoying being acknowledge by foreign fans, why should they stay in this league if it's only controlled by two giant teams, if you are not with them then your chance to grow and improve is slim.

Moving overseas gives them the luxury. If they exceed, then they will earn more. Like what I've said, there's a chance that Williams is acting something inappropriate, maybe because he is seeing huge chunk if he flies high to other alternative leagues outside PH.

Do you think that changing their import will help the team reach the playoffs? In general, a team need at least 6 wins in order to secure a spot in the playoffs. It will be hard for KJ, but I guess he can do it since he already did with NLEX on his last stint.

With their worst standing right now, no choice after all but to really made some changes that's why yes, changing their import is necessary.

We know the capability of KJ McDaniels that if only the pandemic didn't delay the last year's PBA, we might see NLEX competing at the top.

KJ McDaniels now played on all MVP teams, starting from Talk N Text, NLEX, and now, Meralco.

I hope there's really a big change with the Meralco, it's not gonna be easy for sure as there's no chemistry that was built yet. This Meralco team was supposed to be a great team, it's just unfortunate they were not able to get a good import, with KJ McDaniels, this team will improve.

I remember that issue with parks Jr before but maybe MVP already have settle that bad blood as they are acquiring Parks Jr's service on our Nationals though he already enjoying the luxury of enjoying while earning a lot but once in his career he also experienced this kind of situation from TNT management.

Just curious. Did anyone see a social post coming from Jamie Malonzo? a picture of him and Williams together with a caption of something feels at home, not sure if I remember it right. It just appeared from fb.

Might be another rumor smoke if ever Williams choose to stay and play here in our country..

We are focusing too much on the Mikey Willilams' drama Cheesy.
Well, I know that everybody likes drama, but let's forget for that for a bit and focus on other teams and the future.
Yes, he should not be getting too much attention, if he wants to leave then he will leave as there are still plenty of Filipino talents that are just waiting to be accommodated.

I just want to say that a familiar import of the PBA will come back, but now playing with a different team again. KJ McDaniels, the old import of NLEX before exiting because of his wife giving birth to their first child will come back but now as the import of Meralco Bolts.

MERALCO'S import woes could finally come to an end as the Bolts have signed up a familiar face in KJ McDaniels as new import.

Head coach Norman Black confirmed that McDaniels is set to join the team in the hope of salvaging the team's campaign in the Commissioner's Cup.

McDaniels averaged 30.8 points, 11.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.5 steals, and a league-leading 2.8 blocks in his stint with the Road Warriors. Now that we are in the middle of the season, what do you think about the Bolts who now has a record of 1-5. Do you think that changing their import will help the team reach the playoffs? This will make Meralco better, I'd say he is a tough import to beat, this is getting more exciting because this conference will surely become more unpredictable. Good thing his personal matters are over, now he is back to business.
