Anyway, I saw this random post in FB recently regarding the long awaited PBA bubble. I want to knonow your opinion about this one.

Like wth, it doesn't make sense. They are prohibiting fist bumps and high fives for safety but it seems they forgot that both teams are only using one basketball Grin.
Another complete idiocy coming from our fellow countrymen

Its like one protocol in Boracay I think where even though they are in a hotel, social distancing must be observed. Like WTH, they are educated ones but they are making nonsense rules. This rule is a complete useless, nonsense. I can't say anything but they are just stupid if they will continue this rule.

Well, I would not use the term countrymen because using that generalizes Filipinos as makers of bad policies. If we are makers of bad policies then I don't think our country would have survived on its own for more than 100 years. I would say something like this, " Another complete idiocy coming from the PBA policy makers ". Well, they must have thought about it and maybe asked people in the PBA if that is a good policy to do. I don't generalize and make complete idiots of Filipino's as a whole, the word "countrymen" generalizes all 100 plus ethnic groups of the Philippines as someone that really makes bad rules, and that is I think not really good. I want to say more but you all know what it is.

To summarize, only 13 players will not wear a mask, 10 players + 3 referees.

LOL, so they think the virus will not stay if it's already in the place, it's nice to be realistic TBH, once the virus is in the area, everyone will be infected because they are in a close arena. They better not wear that mask like the NBA did, that rule is absurd.

They showed that they can be a title contender when they faced against the Ginebra. Unfortunately he suffered an injury on that series that ended up being defeated in 5 games.

With JMF possibly not playing this year, he will be considered as one of the good bigs in the league especially now that we are in a Philippine Cup where there are no imports. Although he has a bad past in his past teams, he is still one of the best Centers right now.

According to PBA Commissioner Marcial, that was the protocol they received from the developers and authorities in the bubble so no choice but to follow it.

I do not agree too with those protocols but PBA is the one who requested d if they are allowed to create a bubble in the area on which the developers agree. All people inside the bubble are strictly tested first so that's not necessary for me but since that was part of the agreement by both parties, then so be it.

To summarize, only 13 players will not wear a mask, 10 players + 3 referees.

Great news for Meralco Bolts.

Raymond Almazan to join Meralco in time for season restart, says sourcehyper

He is one of the big mans in the PBA which I admire, Almazan is not a lazy center, he had great stats when he was still playing with the ROS and with his team, I hope he will be healthy so he can play all if not most of the games. Again, without Junemar, big like him has a chance to dominate and help his team.

Meralco is a good defensive team, they should be a contender as PBA resume.
Raymond Almazan is a good offensive player as well. He can shoot at perimeter and has a great chance to score at 3-point field than any other center players. He can block shot in realm, he is a team player as well. I thought he was part of Meralco Bolts in past season. Anyway, I hope he can give a nice shot with his teammates. Meralco is my favourite team next to SMB specially when JD, Garbo and Amer exploded in 3 point field. It is just sad that the best three pointers such as JD, Lanete and Tolomia left their former team Meralco. But it is good to have their new center so there is a substitute player when Cliff Hodge or Hugnatan getting troubled.

Yeah, prohibiting fist bumps is nonsense as asf. Not to mention that almost everyone's bodies are bumping with each other the whole game as they defend or attack the rim. If they mean this prohibition, why not require the players to wear mask the whole game too? haha, kidding aside, I'm excited to watch PBA again, I hope everyone will enjoy and be thrilled again just like before.

Fist bumps and high fives aren't prohibited. Players won't be penalized for doing that. It's just that they want to discourage players from doing that.

But either way, that's nonsense! I don't know what kind of strict protocols is that. And that idea came from the BCDA President itself which supported by the PBA commissioner. I always remember the DILG Chief when it comes to a protocol like that lol.

Wearing facemask shouldn't also a mandatory requirement for players but it's a must for those speculators and team staffs.

It's non sense really if they don't allow that since they are already the bubble and they were tested before they get in, and the fact that they can't go out, they are very safe from the virus, if they follow the format of the NBA,  then it should be allowed.

Yup! Actually he is my top favorite in Center position. He is quite aggressive and hardworking but we can't deny that his overall performance changed after his injury before. That's very unfortunate. I hope this new season he is now completely recovered not only physically but mentally as well because sometimes our fears are harder to surpass than any illnesses.

I also like Almazan, those ROS time with Paul Lee, that was the golden times of his career as a PBA player.
With other team like the Meralco, IIRC, he was injured last conference during the elimination.

Meralco really needs him because they don't have a guy a middle to compete with other bigs especially with Junemar and Greg around. Now that the two bisdaks are taking a leave in the PBA, we can expect Almazon to rock the middle and somehow tows the Meralco Bolts to the playoffs.

He is called as the "rock and roll" in the PBA.

Pepe Smith look-alike, that's why lol.

Lots of reversal news recently, now we have one,

Sonny Thoss not yet retired, keeps door open for Alaska return

Quote
SONNY Thoss is willing to play one more conference with Alaska once the COVID-19 pandemic ends and a vaccine is finally available.

Thoss clarified that he has not officially retired even if he didn’t join the Aces in the PBA bubble in Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga.

“Not yet but I guess, I’m sitting out. But not officially [retiring],” Thoss, now listed as an unrestricted free agent, said in an interview over The Link podcast.

Alaska coach Jeff Cariaso confirmed that the veteran big man has not called it quits.

“Sonny has not officially retired. He just decided not to play in the bubble without a vaccine,” said Cariaso.

He is not officially retired but good as retired already as he will not be playing in the bubble.

Many including me are hoping that Abueva will play on the PBA bubble this October. Still there are less than 2 weeks for us to wait until the decision will be done whether he will play or not.

With what is happening right now, there is a high chance that he will play unless our Commissioner will do something not good again that may delay his comeback "again".

That's a very big news, I am so positive with this good update that Calvin Abueva will come back, fans are sure rejoicing now already upon reading this news as this one is very close to reality of him coming back. Phoenix has a shot in the All Filipino Cup with Abueva, that's what I believe.

A good wingman and a good defender.
I don't hear any news about the injury of JMF anymore but I'm thinking that he will not play this year so him and MGR is out.

I also expect that because such injury is serious, it's not time to come back yet, he need to be fully healed first.
Well, even without him I know SMB is also a good contender now, they have Mo, Romeo and the rest of the gang to support them.

Hoping in the league resume, Phoenix Fuel Masters will repeat their last season's performance in Philippine Cup wherein they hold the best record. But unfortunately, they stand no chance against the San Miguel Beermen during the SemiFinals.

Of course we want to see that, Phoenix is a much improve team with Calvin and with how long Calvin has missed the PBA, he will surely give everything he has. Now, in the bubble, every team has a chance to beat the SMB as they have no JMF and Matt Ganuelas Rosser who is a good defender has also opted out in the bubble.

San Miguel wingman Matt Ganuelas Rosser opts out of PBA bubble

The competition will be much better as Fajardo will continue to sit even he's already illegible to play. In regards to Abueva's addition we will see a much improve fuel master.

Abueva adds threat both  offensive and defensive, with him playing fuel master can lean on him when they needed some lift.

Hope to see the younger type of Calvin when there's no attitude but full of skills and trying to prove his worth.

Not surprising to me to see that Abueva will able to play again since just analyzing those progress that happened since the PBA suspends him, we can expect that chances are high he will back in action again once the PBA re-opened.

Again, we don't hear any complaints from Phoenix and Abueva itself meaning "they know something we didn't know".

And to make it more positive, Abueva is allowed inside the bubble. I don't see any reason why he will be allowed there if the suspension won't be lifted sooner. The PBA itself initiated the move to allow Calvin to join the bubble.

And as @bisdak40, the latest was PBA set to finally lift Calvin Abueva's suspension.

That's a big turn of event, one day we loss hope that he will be able to come back, now he has huge chance as it was already discussed with GAB so this is it, we might see him playing again with his team in the restart, we should hope for this, big time.

My question is, if Calvin Abueva able to pass all the requrments before the deadline and presuming he can now play again, what would happen to RR Garcia? As far as I know he is served as Abueva's proxy in order to complete Phoenix's 15 man roster. I think it would be unfair for Garcia if they will remove him all of a sudden.

They have 2 injured players that won't able to make it on the bubble.
