@arwin100, I've seen and read that reports before and that's the reason why I was also expecting that Calvin will be back this season. But then the news came that wasn't including as the suspension was not lifted yet, we also don't know what calvin hasn't complied yet so we have no idea.

Seems to me that we will be able to see Calvin Abueva playing in the Clark bubble if we refer to the recently posted news article by Spin.ph. Calvin's fans were calling the commissioner to lift his indefinite suspension on social media and for sure they heard this and they don't want to be the bad guy here and one thing also, this PBA bubble is for basketball fanatic's entertainment and if the commissioner's office won't heed the request of the fans maybe the will lose some followers which i don't think they can afford.

He have powers to lift his suspension and I believe Calvin already learn his lesson for that incident, I wonder why they have bad blood and didn't let Calvin to go back again. Also the #Letcalvinplay  is trending now on facebook and I wonder the commissioner or the other govern bodies in PBA still insist to put him back on the court. For sure many fans will get more dissappointed if Abueva will still not be seen in this season.
Nah, we can still expect abueva like before. It is in his attitude about in his plays though it is effective for him because he was able to get a good support from the fans. PBA has started to become good now that NBA will going to start the FINALS and after that Filipino basketball fans can focused already on PBA. For now, we still need to watch the Miami vs. lakers best of seven series game and bet if possible. I am actually looking for a local betting plus one game on miami vs. lakers.

His character what fans love about him and the game is totally different without him since he give a hustle inside the court, his absence really create a big impact to the game right now since many fans are dismayed to see him suffer to much from indefinite suspension given to him. I think it's time for him to go play again since many fans are requested this and for sure his comeback will create a noise which PBA can get a benefit with it.

Also Willie Marcial said this check pic for reference so provably he will be back anytime soon.

BTW the deadline to enter the PBA bubble is on October 10, 11:59 p.m., there is still time for Abueva to complete the requirements and join his team.
My question is, if Calvin Abueva able to pass all the requrments before the deadline and presuming he can now play again, what would happen to RR Garcia? As far as I know he is served as Abueva's proxy in order to complete Phoenix's 15 man roster. I think it would be unfair for Garcia if they will remove him all of a sudden.

Is it possible to have a 16th man on the team Cheesy?

Phoenix still has one spot in case their best player will be eligible to play in the bubble. Each team is allowed to have a 25-man delegate and Phoenix at the moment still has 24.

Quote
Abueva was not part of the 24-man delegation of Phoenix Super LPG for the bubble. The Fuel Masters initially included the enigmatic star on their list as he has been training with the team since last year.

The team still has one spot open in its bubble delegation, in case Abueva's ban is lifted.

Then that is a good news, we thought it wasn't possible but here we see there's a little chance, yes, a little chance but it could happen.  Maybe this is a big surprise, so we have to keep optimistic of abueva's return but let us not expect too much though.

As per the Commissioner's statement on the matter, Abueva still has to complete all the necessary requirements before they can decide on lifting his indefinite suspension and he added that Abueva understand the situation so he asked us to bare with him  Smiley.

Under the rules of the PBA bubble, the delegates can enter the bubble until October 10, 11:59 p.m. before it closes its doors to players, coaches, and staff. Marcial is also non-committal on the possibility that Abueva might eventually join the bubble before the October 11 resumption of the games.

Don't worry, once he comes back, he is still the beast because he has been consistently practicing with the team despite the fact that he status is still "indefinitely suspended". He didn't make it this season but he can still play, so it's important to remain optimistic, who knows, next season he will be back.

I also read it and I feel angry for our Commissioner for real.

Marcial shouldn't be the only one who has to blame. That kind of decision is discussed on the table alongside PBA boards and they are all agreed.

He also said that he's not unfair as Calvin understands too that there are things that needs to do.

If Calvin understands it, we should also go with the flow, and let's see what will happen next.

So exciting, PBA teams are already inside the Clark Bubble.

PBA teams start arriving inside Clark bubble

Quote
THE first of two batches of PBA teams arrived at the Clark Freeport on Monday, signaling the countdown of the restart for the 2020 Philippine Cup.

Magnolia led four other ballclubs that left for Pampanga, where the league has set-up a bubble in which the only conference of the season will be played in a compact, two-month stretch starting on Oct. 11.

Each team met at a specific pick-up point and were transported by buses courtesy of Genesis Transport Service.

The Hotshots were the first to arrive at the Quest Hotel in Mimosa shortly after noon, while TnT Tropang Giga, Terra Firma Dyip, Meralco Bolts, and the Phoenix Fuel Masters followed suit.

Shortly upon arrival, all players and team personnel were subjected to swab testing and advised to stay isolated in their respective rooms until the test results come out.

Sponsored content:Negative results would mean that a team is already cleared to do scrimmages.

"Thankful sa PBA sa effort na ginagawa nila para matuloy ang liga," said Magnolia coach Chito Victolero.

"We'll just try our best on how to manage the situation inside the bubble."

Magnolia will be heading to the restart holding a 0-1 record after losing to defending champion San Miguel on opening night, 94-78, before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic forced the league to suspend the season.

The seven other teams, namely, Barangay Ginebra, Alaska, NLEX, Blackwater, Rain or Shine, NorthPort, and San Miguel depart for the Clark bubble on Tuesday. (RG) / PHOTO courtesy of CDC

Wow, that was very impressive, you still remember that? How old  are you man? that's crazy, a crazy FAN. haha.

If you were able to experience the 90s era, being a PBA enthusiast is common and usual even for kids. Also, the time when PBA is not considered as rigged and soft. I have lots of friends during that time who knows PBA as well but today, some of them aren't following the league that much now for various reason. And the timeslot given to PBA is good, dinner time where families are eating together. The majority of the fans came from Ginebra, Shell, and Purefoods. Yes, San Miguel I think is only 3rd or 4th in terms of fan basis.

I'm also a regular bettor of "ending game" so there is a non-stop discussion of PBA here in our place.

I also read it and I feel angry for our Commissioner for real.

I thought it's an import, lol.. I was like, wow! aren't they playing an ALL FILIPINO CUP, then why have an import to go with them in the Bubble, but then I read the full story and found out the player was drafted.

Yes, I'm familiar with him as he is a notable player on the 2019 draft. Already a veteran but just recently drafted in PBA. D

If I'm not mistaken, he hasn't played any single game in the PBA because of the injury and the pandemic that shutdowns the league.

Well, we will be seeing him in the bubble and we will see what he is capable of. If he is a great player, I hope he can help his team which struggles for many seasons already.

It's official, Abueva won't be playing in the bubble.

He is suspended for more than 15 months already and his monthly salary has been affected ever since. I hate to say this but he is the worst Commissioner we ever had so far. Hasn't yet to complete his requirements?? Well what more does The Beast needs to do in order for him to play in PBA?? Kinda disappointed as a PBA fan to see a player not playing for more than a year already.

Relax! you are not the only one, a lot of fans are disappointed as they are hoping Abueva would come back as the PBA resume, but it's not our rules, we can't do anything about it but to wait, and yes you are right, probably we have the worst commissioner now.

Thanks for the new info, I didn't know that, I thought they didn't change name, so only Alaska and Ginebra did not change their name, right?

BGSM also changed its team name before. If my memory serves me right, they changed to Gordon's Gin to promote the brand alongside the popular San Miguel Gin (the classic).

Mobiline Phonepals to Talk N Text. (Asi Taulava's Prime)

Welcoat Paint to Rain Or Shine. (a former PBL team)

Petron Blaze Master (SMB) - after the company bought the majority of the share of Petron Corp (that was big news back then).

Don't know about Alaska but I'm 100% sure Aces is not the original team name. Damn, I remembered my 90s conversation with my fellow PBA enthusiast in our hometown. Smiley

I wish I was also an avid fan of the PBA, I just got so interested with it when I was already in college and start betting on it, and now I got a family, I'm still doing it, I just love PBA because it's easy to predict, and they say PBA is a fraud and that's more I like it.

Abueva's contract has not expired yet, he has some offers from international league, I think that was in Japan if I'm not mistaken, so I guess he also have that plan considered in case PBA will be more hard to him.
IIRC, the first player to accept offer from Japan is Kiefer which I find it a good move for him as he can always go back to PBA easily.

Yes, and actually he got a contract already. IIRC also, I read names like Romeo and Calvin who are getting some offers, these are Gilas players which are good performer in international games, so that maybe help them to get noticed as Japan is our heavy rival during the FIBA Asia tournament.

I've done some research with Welcoat Dragons and it is the current ROS Elastopainters so i think this is not the same time with Welcoat Dragons that they change the name San Miguel Beermen to Petron Blaze Boosters. I just remember the time when Junemar Fajardo was drafted in the PBA and it was Petron Blaze Boosters back then and the same time Chris Tiu was drafted by ROS Elasto Painters, that was way back in 2012.
Time flies so quick and those teams, I can't remember anymore but of course those players that have brought their fame and performance overtime, they are always remembered. During the Welcoat Dragons, the only two players that I can remember is Alex Compton and Ryan Arana.
By the way, thank you for taking time of researching about it.
