There was no news that their previous import was injured, so I agree with you that they change him because they found a better import.

Coach yeng might be thinking that now is the right time for them to be in bigger stage as they are complete now, Ravena is back and Fonacier is fully healthy again. if you see them, they are now very confident with their outside shooting, thanks to the coaching style of coach yeng because it change this team to a more offensive one.

Harris has been on the radar of NLEX and just recently he became available so they gamble and took the risk. Coach Yeng would like to match the import of SMB, TNT and Ginebra which all are more of an outside threat. IMO, they are doing the right move, he showed what he is made against Columbian Dyip and expect him to improve his game.
He showed really well against the Columbian DYIP but this is not a quality team.

IMO, Columbian Dyip may not be on the level of SMB or TNT but they have greatly improve now with Perez on board, they no longer are push over.

if he can still drop that big scoring night against any of these teams (TNT, Gins, and SMB), then I would agree that this guy is really something.
We saw how both the imports of Gins and SMB really played well against each other, that's a real definition of a good import.

That would be the real test if he faces the TNT and still drop that huge numbers on the stats which i think he will since the guy is a high percentage perimeter shooter.

can some tells whats the reason why Ashaolu replaced?sorry im not updated because of hectic schedule these past weeks
One reason that I see is that, Harris is better in shooting compare to Olu. Harris can shoot outside, in the perimeter and can drive too. They see Harris to be a better one compare to Olu even we saw how he played already. If you will see, the top 2 teams has an legit NBA import and they must get a legit NBA import too if they want to defeat the TNT who is now 6-0 and the SMB who is on the road to grand slam.

This is just my own opinion because I saw Harris played in different leagues too and yes he is a good shooter and we saw that already in his first game Smiley.

This is why CStand can't show his full potential for him is not given by minutes of playing.

I'm excited to see CStand evolve into a star. SMB is not even using him so many times yet still winning. This is good for Stand to showcase his true talent.
I just really hope na makabuo kaagad siya ng good relationship with Bolick and the rest of the team dahil team chemistry is what matters the most pa rin Smiley.

You have a point mate but you can't blame SMB's management why they're not giving The Bulldozer plenty of time inside the hard court because June Mar is can already do the work inside the paint and besides there are faster Forwards than him. But since he was now in Northport, I'm pretty sure he will got more opportunity to play thus greater chances of improving. I just really hope he could establish a good relationship with bolick and the rest of the team because at the end of the day, team chemistry still matters the most Smiley.

Big trade news for PBA fanatics.
Standhardinger was traded for Moala Tautuaa and he is not part of the SMB now but on his new team Globatport.

but let's discuss this.
Why on earth did SMB trade Standhardinger? Let's dig deeper

Who do you think will benefit on this trade, stand or mo?
Both of them will benefit on this trade. CStand and Moala was both first draft pick on their draft pick year perspectives. This is why I don't think there is a loose situation on both teams.  Moala is averaging like 10 points per game and playing at least 20-25 minutes although CStand is only averaging 3 points per game on 11 minutes. This is why CStand can't show his full potential for him is not given by minutes of playing.

Stand ranking will improve, with north port, I think he can make an easy 20+ points every game.
Northport next game will be on Wed Oct 23, so hopefully he can play his first game that time. https://www.pba.ph/schedule
That's against his former team SMB,.. can't wait to see it, I think i will bet on Northport as they are clearly the underdog here.

Great to see that we have a lot of great imports in the PBA, but I don't think even if he is really a great player it will help them win the championship.
We've seen enough what happen last conference, Terrence Jones was a monsters, he is bigger and he can really dominate but the SMB did a great job limiting him, the same will happen with this imports that we think will bring their team in the championship.

Things will be different in the finals, they might be good in playoffs but nothing beats SMB yet, so I don't want to judge in advance.

Imports no matter how good will need to adjust to the physicality and the kind of play in the PBA. You are right, Terrence Jones is a monster in the elimination round and almost unbeatable that we think the TNT Katropa would become champion that conference.

Too early to say but i think NLEX have seen something on Harris that can help towed them to the playoffs.
The import must be really good, in his first game he already gave a win to his team.
He finished with 45 points  from 15-28 shooting, and whats impressive also is his FT consistency, he was 12-13 tonight.
Looking at the game highlights it seems that this import is not showing his very best yet, his just warming up keep shooting outside and really nailing it. He's style reminds me of KD not forcing anything just purely talents. With the line up NLEX have this import will complete the competitiveness as he added scoring percentage.

Very impressive first game, if they will continue working like this sharing the ball and helping each others back it will be a good season for them.

I have watched a video on Youtube regarding how this Manny Harris played in different countries and he is a superb player and for me, he can match with McDaniels and Wells and he can be a Best Import candidate. Too early to speculate I think but his average when he played in some tournaments is at around 20-30 PPG which is superb. If he will play well in PBA, he and the NLEX will be a threat for sure and they have a chance to be champions. Cheesy

For me, they have both benefits in their own ways.

For North Port, they can give CStan more minutes to play and he can be their starting Center or Power Forward there since they got their Import. He is the top 1 pick and he isn't the top 1 for no reason. I'm an SMB fan and I know how he plays. He can shoot whatever position he has (circus shot) and he is a good defender and he defended Jones in Game 5 last conference where SMB got the win. He can now able to unleash his skills since he will have more minutes right now that he is in NP than he is on SMB. He is just a bit frustrated right now because the SMB management said earlier that they have no intentions to trade him but this happened.

For SMB, Tautuaa's minutes there will be limited because they've got a strong inside players already (JMF, Santos, Nabong). Mo will play center position in their 2nd Unit most probably but he can be in the PF position too with JMF in the center if they will play together on the court. Their chances of winning the Grand Slam increased but just a little percentage.

What can you say about the new import of NLEX? He also played in the NBA and he is the replacement of Ashaolu.

But let’s not bring the man down that hard mate, people has a chance to change maybe he learned from his mistakes as the penalty is getting longer now,but I like what you’ve said that instead of relying on Abueva coach must focus on improving he’s teams ability to play because these youngsters are eager to prove themselves individually and in team so letting them take over the lost of abuevas present is a big boost to their capacity and morality as well

This is not the first time Abueva committed such acts, the difference on what he did on Terrence Jones is that it got negative reaction from the international basketball community. "Clothlining"is a very dangerous act that could harm another player. When you intend to harm another player required stiff sanction just like what the PBA did to Rudy Distrito when he stripped Cariaso. Alaska is tired of Abueva's antics that maybe the reason they traded him.
While all you’ve said is correct because this can make players permanently disabled but in so:cases this is publicity, and in basketball or in any part of life Good or Bad publicity is still giving high viewings.maybe this indefinite suspension will teach him now that he will lose his career if not changed the attitude and behavior inside the court.
Basketball needs clean games and we don’t tolerate people that may bring injuries to other players either Pinoys or Imports

It's the followers of the PBA that will benefit from this blockbuster and shocking trade  Smiley and of course the two players involve will benefit also from this trade. CStand will have all the minutes he wants while Mo will have his championship rings as much as he wants lol.

They never mentioned in the article that SMB will get also a future draft pick from NorthPort which is the intriguing aspect of the trade, maybe SMB had already someone in sight in the future drafting.
SMB knows how to take advantage as always. Tau + the future pick is more enough to keep the solid lineup.

This trade will bring good minutes for CStan as he really deserve those quality minutes inside the court, being a good player doesn't mean that you should stay with your comfort zone, now that he's been traded he can showcase what he can share to his new team, just hope that the coaching staff of Batang Pier will maximize his presence and create good plays for him.

They have a solid line up already, I think that move is like a downgrade of the team and they know despite of that, they are still the best team in the PBA. Prior to arrival of C stand, they have been winning championships already and as long as they have June Mar, they will remain the best team in the PBA in any conference.
