This is not the first time Abueva committed such acts, the difference on what he did on Terrence Jones is that it got negative reaction from the international basketball community. "Clothlining"is a very dangerous act that could harm another player. When you intend to harm another player required stiff sanction just like what the PBA did to Rudy Distrito when he stripped Cariaso. Alaska is tired of Abueva's antics that maybe the reason they traded him.

I agree with that, but after it was traded, the Alaska was never a better team anymore.
Abueva always makes his team better when he plays that's why he is on demand but it's his attitude that is destroying that opportunity for him.
Look at alaska now, they again made a bad decision of letting their coach leave, now they suffer a bad start with zero wins.

Calvin Abueva is a very good player, in fact he was drafted 2nd to Fajardo and he was really a loss to the Alaska team. Alaska won a championship when Calvin was still a rookie and after that a runner-up was the highest place they got. Alaska had a 14 losing streak two years ago when Calvin was still with them and suddenly he went AWOL for a month or two. If i were Uytengsu, i would do just the same, get rid of problematic players.

But let’s not bring the man down that hard mate, people has a chance to change maybe he learned from his mistakes as the penalty is getting longer now,but I like what you’ve said that instead of relying on Abueva coach must focus on improving he’s teams ability to play because these youngsters are eager to prove themselves individually and in team so letting them take over the lost of abuevas present is a big boost to their capacity and morality as well

Again it's revealed how weak the team without him, they got dominated by the bolts in a score of 111 - 94 and when he was playing, we can barely see this kind of big margin in the game. I also think that the Phoenix management are helping him now to approach whoever committee they will have to in order for him to play the soonest.

If i'm the coach of Phoenix, i will forget that i have a player name Calvin Abueva. Phoenix is struggling now but they are improving as time goes by. They have Wright and Perkins leading them, better to build the confidence of these young guys. Having Abueva is not all positive to the team as we don't know what will happen when he is on the court. He is a liability to the team due to his attitude.

What he really did is very shameful not only to his team but to the association too. Yes he is a very big asset to the Phoenix but if he continues to play how he is playing then he will receive multiple suspension from the commissioner. What he did is what he deserves. A clothesline to an import?? It is an unprofessional move coming from him.

The commissioner gave him permission already to attend the practice with his team but to play this season? I don't think so. More probably in the next season which is the All Filipino cup.
It's shameful yes but, isn't it that Terence Jones danced also to tease him? What more is that Terence Jones received even more shame from Arwind Santos right? Arwind teased him like a monkey and that is racism. That's the even bigger case.
Yep I know that Jones danced with him and probably to tease him and not just that, maybe that is his way to at least lessen what he is feeling at that time and after Jones danced Abueva did it too and he also danced in the scores table which is for me an unprofessional move.

Regarding what Santos did to Jones, yes that is more unprofessional move coming from him who is in the league for more than a decade already but he is also punished but not the same as Abueva received. Only a huge fine (Like 250,000 PHP I think) and a community service. I believe that he isn't intentional to do that. Yes he did that because of mind games like he said in an interview but he is also punished and that's it.

With that simple gesture that was understood as racism, it's just normal that he will be fined.
Compared to abueva, I think abueva's offense is just too big that requires bigger punishment, what the the commissioner is protecting here is the reputation of the PBA, they want to show the world and they don't tolerate that kind of action.

I agree that the team is weak without him. Their coach even told the media all their players MUST play like Calvin after Calvin was banned.

No player is perfect, Abueva maybe have some kind of bad attitude but his stats says he can be trusted in the court and he is a big help to the team.
If we analyze by comparing on what he can contribute to the team and his attitude problem, I believe he can still be an asset.

I don't know about how the PBA trades work, but if the team does not want him to stay, they should have traded him for another players, the thing is they didn't do it as they are still hoping he will change and they can start contributing to the team again when he return.

Being professional needs to act like one, what he did is something that shouldn't be done from this league. It's the entire association that's being affected not only him and his franchise,  he's part of this league he needs to pay attention with fans who idolizing him.

Practice and more emotional control and guidance from the rest of the managing staff in order to work with his attitude inside and outside the court.

Well man, he suffered enough! Is he? He should be back now. The suspension is enormous for me.

We just miss him that's why we say that, the PBA organization has a rules to follow and its now defends on the commissioner if he will grant the request of the fans to allow him to play again. Actually he is really needed to win the Phoenix, I mean to have more wins, they need a closer like him who brings energy to the floor, if we witnessed how the Phoenix played in their games with Calvin, they struggle a lot especially in the half or in the winning moment.

I am very confident he will be granted pardon of his mistake and we shall see him soon.

I immediately didn't watch this league dince the absence of my favorite player, Calvin Abueva. Is he playing again now in the league?
Not yet, he is still under indefinite suspension but he is already practicing with his team now although he can't play yet but this is a good move as the team is very positive the suspension will end up soon, if that will happen, we can have a ready Abueva to bring more energy in the floor.
the team must always join him in practice or else he will lose his way because the player that cannot play while he is not injured will become frustrated and open for many bad ideas in mind
desperation will also comes as the petition of the team for him to comes back in court is still pending.but lets not lose hope and see what will happen this month as suspension is getting longer now

Man you're absolutely right. The emotions, actions and energy this guy is bring to the PBA is amazing. Actually he's the only reason I'm watching the league for real. I idolize him for his funny acts. A Lance Stephenson kind of guy in the PBA.

It's a good move from their franchise to let him to play back, he learned things in a hard way but a professional player like him needs to adjust and make his name be popular again. Of course he needs to show behavior changes after being allowed to play from this league. He's addition makes the team more competitive knowing the type of game he can bring, all the hassles and dedication boost the entire team to play harder.
