USA dramatically went to world cup although lose from Costa Rica and have equal points but they had better goals difference from Costa Rica and can secured 3rd position but for Costa Rica before goes to world cup they will fight for intercontinental playoff against New Zealand who has beat Solomon Islands with score 5-0 and the winner between them will fill in the last slot in world cup tournament

I think Nigeria should have played more aggressively because a drop was not obvious enough for them. They are obviously known for losing to Ghana but I really thought this time things might change.

Every player on the field tried their best, however, certain players were meant to be substituted earlier, but the coach was blind to see that Calvin Bassey was struggling to do his part, and not only that, they were relying on a single striker (Osimhen), who was exhausted without wingers supports. It was when the heat was getting intense at 70 minutes that the coach decided to add 2 strikers. which was bullshit, I mean who does that kind of thing when you looking for a goal until a die minute.  Undecided

Portugal has done its job very well. Pity Ronaldo couldn't score a single goal but Fernandes did a double.
Congratulations to Portugal for qualifying for their 8th World Cup tournament and this would be Ronaldo fifth World Cup competition. Ronaldo not scoring is not a big deal, he had at least four Macedonian defenders around him all the time in the game so there's little or nothing he could as an individual but that created space for the likes of Bruno to thrive.

There is nothing more important than qualifying for the 2022 World Cup, so regardless of who scores the goals, Portugal should rejoice that their target has finally been achieved and they are going to the world cup. Ronaldo does still have high ambitions when it comes to scoring goals, but he will definitely be more concerned with how to make his team win. Well even if he has to fail to score a goal he will still give his maximum contribution, moreover, he is a captain.

Very juicy odds are given by bookmakers on Canada's win against Panama - 2.1... I think I can take this chance! I think Canada will win without any problems... The second interesting match is Costa Rica vs USA. The odds are 2.25 to win the USA... Of course I'm not sure if the USA is the clear favorite here, but I'll try to place a multi bet on the win of Canada and the USA... Wink
Hmm on the first sight it looks like easy money, but keep in mind that Panama won at home against the USA and played a draw vs Mexico. Canada had mixed results in their away games: 2 wins, 3 draws and 1 loss. Now this is the last game and there is nothing at stake anymore, so it's basically a friendly game. Canada might experiment with players/tactics, Panama might try harder for the win.

Costa Rica vs USA is a similar situation, Costa Rica is pretty strong at home and the USA not the best in their away games. Except there is still something at stake here: USA could play for the 1st rank (even though there is no real use for it, but it might be a matter of pride to surpass Canada?) and Costa Rica still has a theoretical chance for the 3rd rank, even though it's unlikely that Mexico will lose vs El Salvador.

My guesses would be
Panama vs Canada: draw @3.0
Costa Rica vs USA: win USA @2.15

My multi-bet lost with a crash! Wink USA lost to Costa Rica, because Costa Rica was still motivated to score as many goals as possible to theoretically get into third place in the standings... Well, I had no doubts about Canada at all! But this is football, and here often happens the unexpected... Grin

The promotion of the Polish national team to the World Cup may not be a big surprise for me,

but i hope that the polish team will not be eliminated from a big tournament again, as unfortunately happened in the last tournaments.
of course, it depends on the group draw - but in my opinion, poland should be strong enough to come out of the group successfully.
Poland currently is 28th in the FIFA ranking, they will likely end up in pot 3 for the group draw, meaning that it is very likely that they will have 2 stronger teams in their group. Only the 2 best out of the 4 teams per group will advance to the K.O. rounds. Based on this it strongly depends in which group Poland ends up and how they perform against the (on paper) "stronger" teams. Possible groups could be with Brazil and Netherlands (bad for Poland) OR Portugal and Switzerland (rather doable)

With some luck Poland could also end up in Group A with Qatar (which is set in pot 1), then they would have very good chances to survive the group stage.

USA lost 2-0 to Costa Rica yesterday - who now has a better h2h score (USA won the first game 2-1). Since the first separating criteria for teams with equal points is goal difference, USA still qualified directly and Costa Rica will have to play a final qualifier against New Zealand.

Mexico needed a point to secure their spot - they won easily against Salvador. So Canada, USA and Mexico are the CONCACAF qualified teams.

Also, it's worth to say few words about qualifiers in other zones. Interesting things in Africa. After very long time Nigeria failed to reach World Cup, they were eliminated by Ghana.
Mane and his Senegal eliminated LFC teammate Salal and his Egypt after penalties. Salah missed penalty, while Mane scored decisive one.
Later tonight we have South America qualifiers. Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador and Uruguay already qualified. While Chile, Colombia and Peru still fighting for 5th place and playoff with team from AFC.

History repeated itself as Nigeria is always known to lose to Ghana, but I was expecting the match would end in Pk, I didn't even expect the away goal to still count until the game was coming to an end, and I somehow felt disappointed that they knew this all along and went and played a draw in Kumasi, they let the country down and made everyone sad, an event that ended in chaos for the fans.
I never anticipated the Egyptian king of all to miss a penalty, a big congratulations to Senegal. They did it in Afcon, let's see what they want to show the world in this World Cup.

the result of the match Nigeria vs Ghana ended in a 1-1 draw and what surprised many parties was a country that qualified because of superior away goals productivity the regulation was removed by the European football federation but it still applies in African football, it must make Nigeria's dream to appear in the world cup ran aground.while in the other match Senegal won dramatically on penalties after Senegal equalized Egypt's goals so that the match had to be followed by a shootout where Mohamed missed a penalty which kept them out of this year's Qatar World Cup.

It's quite painful for Egypt because Senegal has twice thwarted egypt efforts this year, after destroying Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations, now Senegal managed to stop Egypt from being able to play in the 2022 World Cup in qatar, both teams did have a pretty good performance but sadly Egypt are not in lucky condition this year, but I think senegal win has been marred by unsportsmanlike behavior from the fans and it's really very unfortunate, throughout the match the egyptian players continued to be attacked by the senegal fans with lasers and obviously it irritated the Egyptian players.
In my opinion, Salah penalty miss  was none other than the act of Senegal fans who kept firing lasers at Salah face, causing Salah kick to deviate from the goal.
It's just unlucky for them. It was already expected that Senegal would win again, they are just a bit better and that shows in the game itself. Salah is a great player but World Cup is just a way too big of a organization to get bad teams there all the time. Don't get me wrong, it does happen time to time and I am sure that we could find at least one team that would be worse than Egypt this year as well.

It just doesn't happen because elimination process makes sure that some good teams matchup with other good teams and at least one good team gets eliminated, when bad team vs bad team matches up, a bad team could go and this is why we see good teams eliminated at times, and bad teams going instead.

Final round of qualification matches are ongoing in CONCACAF. In less than 30 minutes, we will get to know who will qualify from this confederation. Costa Rica is leading by 2-0 against the United States, but most likely the US will secure direct qualification and CR will be playing in the inter-confederation playoffs. Mexico is leading by the same margin against El Salvador. Canada vs Panama match is irrelevant, because the former has already qualified for the world cup. One slot remains open from UEFA. Will be taken up by one of these three countries - Ukraine, Scotland or Wales.
Qualification for CONCACAF is quite easy and interesting. Surprise, surprise, surprise! However, Costa Rica still suffers despite winning the match 2-0. It will be a World Cup for the USMNT at this point. Mexico has also booked their place at Qatar 2022. Could they make it through the knockout rounds? Considering Mexico and the US are inconsistent, both countries will not make much progress, but you never know who may show up. I'd like to see the USA vs. Brazil.

Actually really surprised to see Egypt lose against Senegal. But since it was decided by penalty kicks, it was completely dependent on luck. Because we all know that in penalty cakes a team needs a huge amount of luck to come out as the winners and it was not the day for Egypt.

I think Nigeria should have played more aggressively because a drop was not obvious enough for them. They are obviously known for losing to Ghana but I really thought this time things might change.

Portugal has done its job very well. Pity Ronaldo couldn't score a single goal but Fernandes did a double. But most of all I am amazed that Poland finally managed to beat Sweden. The chances were about equal, but even Zlatan Ibrahimovic couldn't save his team. I thought the Swedes would score at least one goal.

Ronaldo did have a hard time scoring goals against North Macedonia, but it's not important in my opinion Ronaldo scored a goal in that match.
Because what is much more important is that Portugal can win the game and qualify for the 2022 World Cup, it was more than enough and
satisfied the Portuguese supporters.

At least Ronaldo made a big enough contribution when Portugal beat North Macedonia. Ronaldo was able to provide an assist to Bruno Fernandes
and that was a good contribution, even though at that time Ronaldo could have forced to shoot directly at the goal, but Ronaldo didn't do that and
gave a pass to Bruno Fernandes, for seeing Bruno Fernandes off without an escort from North Macedonian defenders. As you said Ronaldo was heavily
guarded by a lot of North Macedonian players, so it was only natural that in the end Ronaldo had trouble scoring goals. But it had a positive impact,
as the rest of the Portuguese players had plenty of room to build attacks and create chances. Finally Portugal can win the match, so contributing
does not have to score goals.

The 2022 World Cup will also be the last chance for superstar Lionel Messi, who is no longer young.  He will exert all his energy and potential before closing his career in football.
Yes, it has to be his last chance, i can't see Messi playing in another World Cup, the Argentine has already said recently that he doesn't know what's going to happen after the WC, and i deduce that to mean retirement from national football. If Argentina are to have any chance of winning the WC this year, then Messi must put on his best show from game one to the last, at the moment, he isn't playing too well in his club and he prolly has lost something since leaving Barca, there are even rumors Messi could leave PSG when this season is over, Argentine fans would be hoping Messi solves all his club issues and is relaxed coming into the WC so they would have a huge chance of challenging for the title in Qatar.

Here are the quotes for the games on Tuesday:
Portugal vs Macedonia 1.19/6.75/17.0
Poland vs Sweden 2.5/2.95/3.1
The quotes for Portugal are very similar to the Italy vs Macedonia game this week. I don't think we will see such a surprise a second time in a row. (Although it's not impossible)
Poland with their home advantage is considered slightly stronger than Sweden, but it will be a tight game.
What are the news about the 3rd open spot? Scotland has to play Ukraine, but due to the war this game has been postponed. The winner will have to play Wales for the last spot. I hope they can play those games without much delay...
Macedonia is great, but I think a victory over Italy will be enough for them. Portugal will be able to draw conclusions from this game and try to score a quick goal, so as not to bring the outcome of the match to the last minutes, when on the nerves you can make a fatal mistake. In the match with Italy, the difference in class was simply huge, but as it sometimes happens in football, if you don’t score them - they score to you. Italy simply failed to realize their chances, Portugal will confidently win.

I am expecting a win for Portugal against Macedonia. I think that the Italian players did not take the initiative upon themselves and that's what cost them. but I don't think Portugal is going to make that same mistake.
About Poland vs Sweden, I think I am going to support Sweden because they have the  Zlatan Ibrahimovic  Grin.

Well, I totally agree with you, Portugal this time secured their qualification against Macedonia, it should be noted that Macedonia eliminated one of the biggest countries in football, they couldn't beat Portugal, CR7 had a lot to do with the goal, some they say they didn't like the way they scored the goal, some say it was a faulty pass, but a goal is a goal, on the other hand I've always liked Swedish soccer since the USA94 World Cup when they finished 3rd and that great final BRAZIL vs ITALY, it was a dream World Cup, although I was little I remember it as if it were that final right now.

I agree that we shouldn't forget about Argentina too. They also had a great qualifier period like Brazil. Maybe they weren't as good as Brazil but still did very well. Both of Brazil and Argentina couldn't win the World Cup championship for so many years. Brazil's last championship was in 2002 and Argentina's was in 1986. European national teams have dominated the World Cup for many seasons. Maybe it is time for Brazil or Argentina to make it to the championship. I just hope to have a great tournament of course.

Some solid performance that we witnessed from Portugal which saw off North Macedonia by two unanswered goals thanks to a Bruno Fernandez brace....and those goals where beautiful, hope they can take that to Manchester United  Roll Eyes . And looking at the teams that have qualified for the world cup anybody is capable of winning it afaik but I fancy Belgium and Germany winning it.
Portugal have successfully sealed their place in the 2022 world cup, after beating North Macedonia out of the world cup qualifiers. Bruno Fernandes gave Portugal Victory over North Macedonia after standing out with 2 excellent goals, although failed to record an hattrick against North Macedonia. If you could recall that, North Macedonia knock out Euro defending Champions Italy out of the world cup qualifiers. It's excited to see Cristiano Ronaldo anticipate in this world cup which may be his last. Although there is going to be high competitions against countries in this world cup.

Portugal's success in qualifying for the 2022 World Cup is also followed by Cristiano Ronaldo, this world superstar has always created fantastic records, Ronaldo has the opportunity to become the first person to score in nine major international tournaments in a row, the 2022 World Cup is the fifth World Cup he has participated in and the event  big 10 for him.

Portugal is a team that should not be underestimated. They do not belong to the absolute world top, but are just below that. They can beat anyone on good days. Winner of the Nations League and also European champion of 2016, in which they defeated France. And I think that team back then is about equal to the team now, maybe they're even better now. In any case, they have already qualified, I think they are outsiders with odds around 15 for the overall victory.
