AHAHAHAH

No more!!! I have no doubts that this is very likely to happen, they are experts at playing to draw. How can a team with such quality play like this... it's a shame, but that's it, they'll get away with it.

Portugal lost when they played against South Korea in 2002. And even one player was sent off - João Pinto. This player, today is part of the management team of the Portuguese federation, which is usually sitting on the bench. Will this be good or bad? We'll see.

 Grin one more please!
This is the last World Cup for Ronaldo and it would be good if Portugal achieved something at the World Cup with him.
As for the fact that Portugal is playing a draw and this is supposedly bad - I do not agree. If the team at least draws, then no one is stronger  Cool For example, in the semi-final of the 2012 European Championship, Portugal lost only in the lottery to the future champions - Spain. If you look objectively, then Portugal is consistently good.

I wouldn't like to underestimate South Korea but I believe that they have a really challenging group in the World Cup. Even Ghana would put up a good fight against them I think. But let's say that they defeated Ghana, I still don't think that they can qualify for next stage of the tournament. Portugal and Uruguay are way stronger teams than them. Maybe we don't have the prime Portugal but they are still strong now. Even if they don't end the group stage as the leader, they would end as the second.
South Korea is a good, disciplined team that can beat Ghana, but it will be almost impossible to beat Uruguay with Cavani and Suarez or Portugal with Ronaldo.
Therefore, Ghana and South Korea will fight for the 3rd place, Ghana and South Korea have a chance to get out of the group only if Uruguay stumbles and plays a draw with one of them. Portugal is sure to beat both Korea and Ghana.
This will be more exciting because Portugal's status is definitely underdog and Uruguay is also the same.
but on the other hand, South Korea can be a threat in my opinion, especially with Song also there.
Uruguay is indeed quite good with Cavani and Suarez but on the other hand I think they are senior enough even though they do have an impact but not too much.
Portugal have quite a lot of hope with Ronaldo's last world cup and of course they don't want to give a bad last memory to their superstar

I think Group H is a revenge arena. One of the causes of Portugal's failure to qualify for the 2002 World Cup knockout phase was the defeat of the host, South Korea with a score of 0-1. Ghana feels it too. Being in the same group with Uruguay provides an opportunity for the African representative to revans. It's sad that Ghana has been buried for 12 years. In 2010 they could have almost made it to the semifinals if Uruguay striker Luis Suarez had not accidentally cleared the ball with his hands in front of the goal line in the last minute!

I prefer Uruguay and South Korea to qualify for the next stage. I don't think Portugal will qualify, even they have to go through the play-offs to enter the world cup, even though in the Portugal squad there are big names but I doubt I choose Portugal to enter the next round.
I agree about Uruguay, but South Korea? Seriously? Even Ghana has a better chance of getting out. In general, Portugal and Uruguay should go to the next stage with 90 percent. Portugal always passes the qualifiers poorly, but then gradually plays out and almost always reaches the 1 \ 2 or 1\4 finals. Now they have an excellent and balanced national team and if Ronaldo is in shape, then they must definitely reach the 1 \ 4 finals.

Especially excited for group G, which is a low-key death group.
Swiss gave Brazil a lot of trouble in 2018. They eliminated World Champions France in the Euros. Cameroon is one of the best sides in Africa, but others are not going to be a fan of the team they'll face against them this time. Swiss-Serbian matches are always exciting.

Keep your fingers crossed and let's see what happens. Nevertheless, Brazil should be the group champions.
you are correct that group is the most competitive group, but if you look at group A, i seen that Senegal is one of the Strong team, but in soccer nothing like accurate assumptions or this team will defeat this team, what is matters is the squad of the team players

It is clear that in Group A, the Netherlands should come out of first place, but I would also think about Qatar. After all, the host of the championship, and usually the hosts of the championship go to the 1 \ 8 finals. It seems only in South Africa in 2010 it was different.
But Ecuador can also present a surprise. In general, there will be an extremely interesting group and I would not relax even if you're Netherlands.

In fact, it is a form of competition distortion that the host nation is always in Pot 1 in the draw. Because those are usually not strong countries. The rest of the group therefore has a significant advantage. It would be better to classify that country based on the ranking of the fifa list, that would be much fairer. I don't think there is any logical justification for giving the host country the highest status. Yet this has been done for a while? Yes, the Netherlands and Senegal are very lucky with this lottery system. Qatar cannot possibly play a significant role in this group. By the way, we should not underestimate Ecuador, finishing 4th in the group of South America is quite good.
Fifa always "plays along" a little with the hosts of the championship. Of course, I hope that it will not be like with South Korea and Spain in 2002, when the referee openly played for the hosts of the championship.
But in general, considering how much money Qatar has invested in the championship and in FIFA, it should not be surprising that this happened with the draw. Ecuador seems to me even more likely to have an exit than Senegal. The African national teams are strong, but very unstable.

I just read that the opening game will be Netherlands vs Senegal. I thought that the hosts always play the opening game, wasn't it like that so far? Did the rule change in this WC?
Qatar is playing Ecuador at the same day but a bit later.
.

I'm also curious about this information. I thought it is the tradition that the host country play the first match in tournament   after the opening ceremony is done. I try to search for information concerning that but nothing is uploading about that for now. We need to know if there is a particular reason for that or it is just by chance that host nations play in opening matches.

It seems that many are surprised by the new history of the World Cup opening match, the Senegal vs Netherlands match being
the opening match of the 2022 World Cup. Because previously the host country has always been involved in the opening match of
the World Cup since 1938. But for the 2022 World Cup it's a little different, because Qatar will only play against Ecuador a few hours
after the Senegal vs Netherlands match. I also like you have been looking for the cause of this change in tradition, but have not received
a satisfactory answer. It seems that the change in the tradition of the opening match of the World Cup was a direct request from Qatar to FIFA,
maybe if Qatar play in the first match the pressure is too strong, this is just my guess. Hopefully in the future there will be an official
explanation from FIFA regarding this change in tradition.

Well, I think you can pretty much predict how the group stage will end:

Group A: Netherlands and Senegal for sure.
Group B: England and USA.
Group C: Argentina and Mexico/Poland whereas I would tend more to Mexico.
Group D: France and Denmark.
Group E: Spain and Germany.
Group F: Belgium and Croatia.
Group G: This group is the only one imho which is totally open. Brazil should be the favorite but all others can be reach the next round too.
Group H: Portugal and Uruguay.

Pretty good picks and I could almost relate to it 100%. For group C, I also tend more to Mexico than Poland. For group G, I think, besides Brazil, that Switzerland will go through. They have a pretty good team and defeated France in Euro 2020.
Chances that we will get some surprises are pretry high, but that makes it exciting!

Group A: QATAR, ECUADOR, SENEGAL, NETHERLANDS - Qatar has a good chance to compete for second place. Netherlands first.

Group B: ENGLAND, IRAN, USA, SCOTLAND/UKRAINE/WALES - USA vs IRAN - will there be a repeat of the record of journalists' interest in this match? By the way, if Scotland gets here, there will be three English-speaking teams in the group.

Group C: ARGENTINA, SAUDI ARABIA, MEXICO, POLAND - An even group for three teams, the Saudis are outsiders.

Group D: FRANCE, UAE/AUSTRALIA/PERU, DENMARK, TUNISIA - I think France 1 Denmark 2

Group E: SPAIN, NEW ZEALAND/COSTA RICA, GERMANY, JAPAN - Germany vs Spain - two outdated teams will try to remember the past.

Group F: BELGIUM, CANADA, MOROCCO, CROATIA - Belgium and...?

Group G: BRAZIL, SERBIA, SWITZERLAND, CAMEROON - same

Group H: PORTUGAL, GHANA, URUGUAY, SOUTH KOREA - a very even group, Portugal can advance to the next round after drawing all matches. They have experience  Cool

Netherlands to win their group, Senegal to qualify in group A.
England to win their group, United States to qualify in group B.
Argentina to win their group, Mexico to qualify in group C.
France to win group D, Denmark to qualify.
Portugal to win group H and to win the World Cup.
These countries will qualify.for the next level

I think those who will advance to the next round in Group A are the Netherlands as group winners and Senegal as second place in Group A. because Senegal is also a team of proven quality, they have just won the African champions, what Senegally needs to know is as the first position in the FIFA ranking list for the African region.
The star from Liverpool also comes from Senegal, namely Sadio Mane. Everyone knows the quality of Mane.

Sadio Mane alone can't take Senegal to the second round. And Senegal has been inconsistent in the past. I would still go with Ecuador. They are regularly playing against the best in the world (Brazil, Agrentina.etc), and have performed quite decently in the recent past. My guess is that Ecuador, along with the Netherlands will be able to qualify from Group A. One thing I have learnt from the previous editions of the world cup is not to underestimate any of the CONMEBOL teams. There are simply no weak teams from that confederation.

WC is starting on November 21st and lasts almost a month - final game is scheduled on December 18th.
I do not know where you read that information but it is wrong, the host Qatar will open the world cup as it has been the tradition for a long time, and about the groups, I think with the exception of the group of Qatar which is the easiest one, the rest of the groups are well balanced and there is not one which I can say is the group of death, when the groups were being decided and Germany came up at the group of Spain it seemed group E could become the group of death but then they got two easy draws so it did not happened, honestly I am a little disappointed by it but still I am eager to watch the world cup.

Most likely it will be like that considering they will definitely be seeded in this group phase.
But of course I want a surprise from Japan here and now I am waiting for Costa Rica to be here now because there are indeed some pretty good players there and I hope names like Vargas and Navas can take part in the world cup even though it can be said as an underdog team

Japan really has low chances in this match no matter how much everyone wants an outsider in the group to go through to the next stage. Some really intrested groups in the upcoming world cup. Brazil , Switzerland and Serbia will play again like in the last world cup so that is wierd draw honestly
Yep their chances are really small but I just want to see them play now.
I just saw the group and it's true it's like the 2018 World Cup Deja Vu.
Is this really a coincidence or is it deliberately set like this lol
It's quite natural that you feel strange because it really looks like 3 clubs will fight each other again to get tickets to the next round

Group A: Netherlands and senegal
Group B: this group is somehow tough but I'm looking at England and any other.
Group C: Argentina is very good and maybe Poland.
Group D: France and Denmark.
Group E: Spain and Germany. Always confident in these teams.

In the group H Portugal is the strongest among all and I believe they will be the winner, Ghana and SouthKorea  are of the same level of performance. I don't think if Ghana will be able to qualify in this round when we have team like Portugal and Uruguay,  this two teams makes the groups H to be so I interesting.

In first place in this World Cup, I will be rooting for Portugal, but I do not share your optimism that they are group favourites. Maybe on paper they are 5-10% stronger than other teams but in fact I doubt that this is a critical advantage that will give Portugal the first place. I think the final alignment in the group will be decided in the last round where every game will be important. That is why I mentioned the experience that Portugal has.
