The call for the Portugal national team has also been released:

Goalkeepers: Diogo Costa, José Sá and Rui Patrício.
Defenders: Diogo Dalot, João Cancelo, António Silva, Danilo, Rúben Dias, Pepe, Nuno Mendes and Raphael Guerreiro.
Midfielders: João Palhinha, Rúben Neves, Bernardo Silva, Bruno Fernandes, João Mário, Matheus Nunes, Otávio, Vitinha and William Carvalho.
Forwards: André Silva, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gonçalo Ramos, João Félix, Rafael Leão and Ricardo Horta.

In general, the choices even make some sense. The problem now is seeing the starters used in games. And in that field, I don't think we're going to see good choices.

Unfortunately, Diogo Jota had to be absent due to his injury. IMO, the overall depth of players that the Portugal squad has meets the standards to be a challenger in this championship. but unfortunately, Fernando Santos tends to use a 4-2-3-1 formation, where he only relies on a single striker up front. none other than Cristiano Ronaldo who became Target Man. in the League of Nations, Portugal did not have impressive results with the formation pattern of the strategy applied by Fernando Santos. even though Portugal have Benardo Silva, Rafael Leao, Bruno Fenandes, who can always be relied on to tear apart their opponent's defense.

on the other hand, as we know Ronaldo's performance is really far from what was expected. even this season with Manchester United, he was only able to contribute 1 goal in the premier league, 2 in the Europa League. so yes, as you said, the problem now is the starter used in the world cup later.

Will this be a competitive team for the World Cup?

One of the finest teams to win the World Cup this year is the defending champions, France. With the exception of some of their World Cup-winning players, the midfield has undergone some changes. Players like Pogba and Kante are not present this time around. They have some excellent attacking players right now, and I recognise seeing them all doing well in their respective club game. Any attack combination the coach makes will be a wise choice, even if he finds it difficult to choose the attackers to open the games. Let's wait and see what France can show off at the World Cup now that they have the players and a complete team.

Trent Alexander-Arnold made the England list - Reece James's injury helped with that.
I feel that Trent should be playing constantly and that he's a huge attacking threat.
His defensive lapses are quite obvious but so are Cancelo's for example, and he's not scrutinized for it every game.

I really like the Portugal squad - they are well balanced and quite strong. Shame that Jota is out, he would have been a great addition to this squad.
It will all come down to how Ronaldo will act and how much he'll play. If they control his ego, they might do really well.

France is always competitive, they are probably the team with the biggest pool of players in the world at the moment.
When I see the list however, I can't shake the feeling that they will be a bit thin in midfield.

They will miss Kante for sure, hell - this team will even miss Pogba.
Tchouameni and Camavinga will be great but are still too young, whereas other players are decent, but don't match the quality that France has in other areas of the pitch.
Right now, no doubt about France pool and form because they have enough quality players and their injury list is surely not going to have any big concern for them with most chances Kante, Pogba are not in team, and they have good replacement in shape of Tchouameni and Camavinga which can give them enough support. Even many rumours or predictions about their current form and quality but things still looking positive for them, and they have good chance for reaching into last eight with last four spot is surely not easy for any team, we have to check ground realities as well.

We have few toughest challenges in few groups and this will give better predictions after start of the event and things which will be happened on ground because right now injuries list are increasing for few countries.
For sure they will miss the experience of N’golo Kante and Paul Pogba. Pogba sustained a new injury setback while undergoing rehabilitation on an existing knee injury that has seen him yet to play a competitive game for Juventus. Likewise Kante too, similar problem. They will have to go to Qatar with Tchouameni, Fofana and Camavinga. They’re also exceptional players. We have seen how good they play in their respective teams so I’m sure they’ll add value to the squad.

OK.. finally we have confirmation regarding the French squad. Not many surprises. We got confirmation that N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba will miss out as a result of injury. Karim Benzema is the captain, and despite the absence of Pogba, the squad still contains a lot of fire, with players such as Ousmane Dembele, Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann. And as expected, younger players such as Eduardo Camavinga and Matteo Guendouzi have been added to the squad. But needs to be seen whether they will be included in the starting XI.

I am excited with young talent Youssoufa Moukoko still 17 age years old success get first debut at World Cup, actually not easy trough 17 years old become part of national team in World Cup tournament. Has consistent performance with Dortmund make him get first national debut at World Cup Qatar and seems he will be most young player in this tournament. FC Bayern and Dortmund dominate the German squad for this world cup, there are 7 players from Bayern and 5 players from Dortmund.

Besides Youssoufa Moukoko, there is also Jamal Musiala who is a young player for the German national team with 19 years old right now, seems Germany dominance by young player except still have several senior player like Thomas Müller and Manuel Neuer.

And it is not at all unlikely that Youssoufa Moukoko and Jamal Musiala will make a few appearances at the World Cup in Qatar.

The German national team lacks a strong striker and that could help Moukoko after he managed to score several goals in the last few Bundesliga matches. In addition to that, Jamal Musiala leads the Bundesliga scorer list (goals + assists).

I can hardly imagine that Hansi Flick wants to pass up on this quality. Anyway, I think the German team will perform pretty strongly at the tournament - even if they are not among the top favorites. They might even reach the finale. We will see.

So happy to witnessed the 2022 world cup, after long four years back in Russia, now is Qater. France is defending champions and I  expect them to do better in the world cup. France have amazing players that can have one of the best performance in the world cup. It just remaining 10 days to world cup and everyone is excited to represent his country in the world cup. Deschamps have good set of frontlines that are sharp infront of goals, although he dropped some vital players due to injuries pickup in league games.
It will be an unusual World Cup, the players will have to switch from club championships and euro cups to another tournament, it will be hard physically and mentally, let's see what happens. The French are the defending champions and I think they will play much better than they did in the Nations League, the same applies to the German national team.
Yes I cannot comprehend the big change players will go through for this unusual World Cup. Their normal season with their clubs already started and going at full speed. But suddenly everyone in the football world has to change the mind set and the players who will actually play will go through a huge and differently pressure. Then they have go back to their clubs right away. I find it utterly bizarre. This makes me feel like weird things might happen in this world cup or rest of the season. Maybe we will see injuries or mindset of the players would change. I think we might see unexpected title winners in the leagues.

France has already made its call-up for the World Cup:

Goalkeepers: Hugo Lloris (Tottenham), Alphonso Aréola (West Ham) and Steve Mandanda (Marseille);

I agree completely. I actually came to write something similar. They will most definitely miss Kante a lot. Even though French roster is arguably the best, I think they lack the strength from midfield. I mean, still great of course but not the perfect hard core midfield they need in my opinion. I wait for their performance in the quarter or semi finals fiercely. It will be the best point of this world cup.

The top three teams being favoured for the championship respectively are like this:

- Brazil: 5.00
- Argentina: 6.50
- France: 7.00

First of all, these teams all have comfortable groups for themselves. I expect all of them to finish as leaders. However I don't expect a finale among these teams. I mean that I expect one of them to be in the finale but their opponent might be a less expected team. Who knows maybe Netherlands or Belgium could make it there. Besides it is the last World Cup for Messi and Ronaldo both. I know that many people would like to see a Portugal - Argentina finale.  Grin  But I don't think Portugal can reach the finale for now. We need to see their effort first to make a clearer decision. Otherwise of course it would be lovely to watch these legends playing against themselves again in a very special match.

For me Brazil should be the main favorite with how their line up looks but Argentina has a good team but for me they aint in top 3 maybe in fourth position for the title. Germany is really strong aswell and i think they belong in top 3 for sure. Everyone predicts that Argentina should be the winner because of Messi but it isnt that easy to win the world cup

I honestly didn't know Upamecano was French, this is the first time I realized that, I thought he was German. They really do have a great team, it's unfortunate that Pogba and Kante is missing, they would have helped a lot, specially Kante would, Pogba may or may not because his personality is a bit weird, he plays inconsistently, sometimes he is amazing, sometimes he just stands and watches, but Kante always plays hard and would have helped.

There is a reason why they are one of the favourites of the cup, and it shows from the roster. The fact that they have Mbappe and Benzema together at the front alone is a great example why they are favourites.

The french squads is near perfect; but they will be heavily reliant on the young Aurélien Tchouaméni and Eduardo Camavinga for pace and creativity. Would France go far in the world cup ? or their stars would come short in creativity ? Only days away to find out

Argentina is entering the field in the last friendly match before the World Cup. Next Wednesday (November 16) Messi-Di Maria will play against the host country in the United Arab Emirates. The match will be held at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. However, to avoid travel fatigue, the Argentina Football Association wanted the match to be played in Doha, Qatar. But in the end the match is taking place in Abu Dhabi. Argentina will play with all the star players of the team in the last match before the World Cup.

The French squad is the most star-studded team, and there is nothing wrong with the names on the list. in the defense sector, filled with core players from their respective clubs and they are very reliable.

in midfield, there are many big names even though France had to lose Pogba and Kante because of the injuries they suffered. although, Tchouameni and Camavinga are young players, but they have been tested playing with their club. don't forget, their club is Real Madrid.
after all, Rabiot still exists, although its performance is sometimes unstable. in fact, Kingsley Coman was often played as a midfielder by Nagelsmann at Bayern Munich. So, don't doubt the potential and talent they have even though they are still very young.

Up front, we don't need to doubt the strikers that France has. with the depth they have, France deserves to be one of the strong challengers in this championship.
However, their performance in the Nations League was very poor. and I hope, in this Qatar world cup. Descamps was able to bring his troops to play at their best.
