There's no doubt that France can take 1st or 2nd place they can manage it themselves because there really is no strong opponent there
One thing I noticed when France played was that against weak teams the results were not optimal on the other hand when against a strong team they play as potential champions, at least I saw this in their last few games and sometimes I avoid betting there.

What I think is Didier Deschamps want to leave (get kicked from) his job!
France is showing very very weak performance honestly in these international games. They are supposed to win vs these weak teams, no offence but players level are very different and thanks to the tactics used by France, you feel like there is no advantage at all and here is the result. This team won't go anywhere with such poor results.
I wasn't very shocked by the result vs Ukraine personally, what surprised me a lot was Austria total failure Lips sealed

It was expected for France to have a hard game with Ukraine as we all saw what they're capable at Euro so it was kinda normal to perform a good game today and snatch 1 point. France are doing great and they don't need for force and risk injuries as they don't need something like this when the championships just began a few weeks ago. It was more surprising to see Austria losing to Israel at such big difference.

It wasnt a big surprise honestly. Ukraine is a really good national team and is playing really good. France just keeps struggling in the qualifications. But this point pushes them really close to the World cup. What is shocking that Denmark bearly won against Faroe Islands.

for me the 5-2 of israel vs. austria was the surprise today. after the extremely good performance of the austrians at the european championship, i would have expected at least a close away win at today's game...
and the away games in the ukraine were always very difficult, so i find the 1-1 of france not so bad and for me rather not a negative result (but have not seen the game)

Yes, my only interest in today's matches is Ukraine vs France. I agree, it will be a though match and Ukraine has proven to be a tough nut to crack in the past, but I think France could take three points with a minimal goal difference. Just because this match means a lot to them, the French will be motivated to score. On paper, this should be an easy win for France, but in the real world, I'm expecting a hard fought match that will be decided by the drop of a hat.

Well, this game is definitely all about France's performance. If they manage to use their full potential, I don't see a chance for Ukraine to steal even a point.

By the way, as this is the topic about the World Cup in Qatar, does anyone expect any team to boycott the World Cup? These discussions come up every now and then in the media. I wonder if there will be a single team, given further concrete reasons, to step back from playing the cup. It is devastating to read the reports on people killed during construction works etc.

That seems very unlikely to me, I do not remember this ever happening during a World Cup, there have been many instances of this happening on the Olympic games in which several delegations boycotted one edition of the Olympic games but this happened mostly during the Cold War between the US and the USSR, however the number of people that have died is huge and this increases significantly the possibility of something like this happening.

Israel achieved unexpected easy and big win over Austria - 5:2. 2 goals of Zahavi - I already said in my previous posts, but at 34 years he is amazing and one of the most underrated forwards in Europe.
Croatia achieved dificult win against Slovakia after late goal of Bozovic. Didn't watched game, but seems it was clash of same level teams.

A logical win for netherland ,turkey and norway seems that the top of that group is beginning to take shape with turkey still leading with 1 point difference but not convincing performance so i think norway and netherland can take their place as top of that group.

France are still playing a draw away against ukraine and the match has gone into added time, another draw from the French team is really looming, and again the conceded before the equalize, I think these are not the expectations from a world cup champions, it would be shameful if they don't make it to defend their title and even if they make it through to Qatar 2022 Fifa world cup, in this shape they may fail as they did in the euro 2020 tournament.
In other matches Israel are tearing Austria apart and so I Netherlands doing to Montenegro.

The match has come an end with a 4-0 final result, It was quite a better performance from Dutch team, after a poor result against Norway few days ago.

Memphis Depay was the star of the scoring two goals, in the one sided game...

I also wonder why they replaced Martial with Benzema instead of replacing Griezmann. Martial scored the goal in the end. Or maybe they thought that Martial wouldn't be able to do better than this but Griezmann can still score at any time. I see that France are playing better than their competitor. However it is not good enough as it seems from the statistics. Even if France win this match, it will be a lucky one. They should make a much bigger effort than this.

France found equalizer with Martial, now they can turn the game around. It's important for both teams as Finland beat Kazakhstan and made 5 points in 3 matches.
Türkiye started pretty bad and it took 54 minutes to find first goal. Normally you expect a big margin but they couldn't find a good positions in first half. Substitutions changed the game's course. Norway beat Latvia in this group in earlier match. Netherlands is leading their game with only one goal against Montenegro. They should find second one if they don't want to be in Türkiye's position in last game. Plenty of time to played in these matches.
