Well, you can't be on the top every season I guess. Same goes for Real Madrid at the moment. They are ok in the ACB but in the Euroleague they are also far behind expectations. Or look at ALBA in Germany, basically a top 3 team every single season in German but this year they are struggling a lot, mostly though because they lost plenty of talent and replaced it with scrubs  Grin .

Yeah, you can't always be on the top, but for club like Barcelona with such budget and roster being outside playoff zone in both leagues can't be justified.
But today they beat Monaco away and they done it confident, what is unexpected for me.
ALBA is such a joke. I look their coach interview after losses and almost every time he says that he is proud for his players.
I think that half of BBL teams wouldn't do worse in Euroleague than Alba.

That's true, many teams would do better than ALBA right now. Not only because of players and so on, but also because of the will to fight for a win. With ALBA I often feel they don't want it enough. If this was the NBA you could expect them to play bad intentionally and tank to get a good selection in next summer's draft, obviously this can't be the case in Europe.  Roll Eyes
I hope they will learn from this because if this keeps going they might lose their spot in the Euroleague real soon, big team from a big city either way.

Barcelona with a huge win away and this will probobly be good for their moral to start a streak. They have been lately really bad and i think this might be their turn point. Alba shouldnt be allowed to play anymore in the euroleague. Everybody wins against them so easily and im shocked that each year they play and they are always last!

What's going with Barcelona. Yesterday they lost to worst team in ACB league Girona. It's 3rd loss in a row in league, they're out of playoff zone and also have big risk not to qualify to Copa del Rey tournament. In Euroleague they're not doing better in Euroleague too. Their next game is against Monaco, if they will lose, I think it can be last game for Penarroya. And I would guess that their next coach will be Ssa Obradovic.
BTW, Efes changed their coach recently - Luca Banchi will be their new coach and Mijatovic will be his assistant. It's unexpected news for me as Efes didn't looked under Mijatovic. While Banchi, he didn't done well with Virtus this season, he looked so desperate during timeouts, but Virtus squad isn't very competetive this year.

Barcelona is really struggling this season in all leagues. But in euroleague its a question if they will reach the play in. A lot of teams are really close and are on a good streak. Virtus started winning but i think this season is too far from them and they playin spot in unreachable for them.

We are losing hard against Partizan currently as well. If we played the first half better then we could have had a bigger chance to win. But now while there is a more than 10-point gap I really don't know. Sad We once again see Nigel Hayes' name among top scorers. He is giving his best for the team. But we couldn't find a solution for Duane Washington. Our defending wasn't this bad before but now we are struggling. We really need to add better players to our roster if we want to play big in the Euroleague which is to become the champion.

To be honest, that was quite the result I expected. I mean, Fenerbahce is already on a big downswing and then playing against a crowd like Partizan has, that’s not making anything easier. Sure, Partizan also has its fair share of disappointing outings this season but against a struggling Istanbul team they can still prevail. Fener tried to compete without getting some enforcements, even with all the injuries. Guess now they should be at a point where they must admit that some action must be done, otherwise they will drop in the standings even more.

There is probably no other club in the world that makes its fans sick as much as Fenerbahçe.
When they start to lose, they continue. I was expecting a loss from this match anyway and this score did not surprise me.
Their fans also started to say on social media that Sara should go, that one should go.
I think that if Sarunas leaves, Erdem Can will be the head of the team.
I hope the team recovers as soon as possible. The team has fallen to 7th place in the points table.
I think that this team's squad is not behind Olympiakos or Monaco.

Fenerbahçe's recent form is really worrying me. I don't believe we have a great squad. But especially Nigel Hayes is taking a big responsibility in most matches. However we lost many matches recently. The Paris match has also been postponed because of insufficient players. The next one is against Partizan. We should be careful as they are scoring a lot of points. Sad

At least Anadolu Efes are on the rise. They have come into a position to be a top 4 challenger. Despite not having a great defense generally they still did a good work in the recent a few matches. Hopefully they can keep up the good work.

Anadolu Efes lost heavily today against Monaco that is in an amazing form. I think that Efes didnt stand a chance today against them. Fenerbahce has a good team but they are playing hot and cold and i think at such hard away game against Partizan they might lose. If Nigel Hayes isnt on his best against Partizan it will be hard for Fenerbahce to win at Belgrade.

I don't think Fenerbahce is hot and cold. I mean, they have lost 4 of the last 5 games in the Euroleague, they really are in a slump after starting strong and staying at 9 wins and 2 losses. Sure, injuries play a big part of it but looking at the roster that is currently on the floor there are still enough big names to not look that bad at the moment!

It's actually crazy to see 2 French teams on the top of the EL after basically half the season played, who would have though. Sure their national team is strong but club wise you wouldn't expect that. Also, only 1 team from Spain in the top 10 at the moment, and only on on 10th place as well. This season really is special!

Zalgiris is so inconsistent Sometimes they looking almost like F4 conctender and then they're wasting points against complete underdogs. Like today, they had no chance against Maccabi, one of worst performing teams in league.
Monaco had no problems with Efes, while as expected Milano - Olympiacos game was close and ended with difficult win of guests.
Friday is full of good games like Baskonia - Paris, Bayern - Panathinaikos  and Partizan - Fenerbahche. I'm waiting for Fenerbahche game, they have big challenge after several shameful performances.

It is very difficult for Panathinaikos to win on Friday in Bayern Munich away match.
Bayern Munich is a team that plays good basketball on its home field and Pana does not have Lessort.
This is also a big handicap for Pana.
French teams have a remarkable performance this year.
Tomorrow, Monaco Anadolu Efes match will be the most difficult match of the day. Both teams are in form but I see Monaco one step ahead because of the pitch.
Fenerbahçe will also play Partizan away match. Although Fenerbahçe is the favorite, I believe Partizan will be the side that will leave with the victory. Because Fenerbahçe is a very unbalanced team.
I hope I am wrong about this.

Tomorrow another round of Euroleague begins, last in 2024. Now I can't remember any Euroleague games played on 26th December, but seems that now they're following EPL, NBA or NFL path, playing on Boxing Day. Well, maybe it's not that bad idea, considering that whole families will be in front of their full tables and TV Smiley.
And we have some not bad games like Monaco - Efes or Milano - Olympiacos.

Lots of games available during the holidays. Im looking forward to epl and euroleague but my team plays on friday and hopefully Partizan wins against Fenerbahce at home. Milano vs Olympicaos will be a crazy good game for sure both teams have some really good players. Monaco will probobly easily win at home against Efes

Yesterday Lessort injury was shocking momernt, it looked so scary. After it nobody didn't cared about basketball anymore. But it looked that worst case scenario didn't happened. He got fabula fracure, it's serious injury and he will be out for 4 months. So, we can expect Lessort return this season
And huge respect to Markus Howard for what he did after the game:

Who could have thougt that Asvel after double week will have 2 wins, playing both games away in difficult arenas (Belgrade and Kaunas). After win against Partizan I said that's nice to see Asvel finally competetive. If they will continue playing in such way, playoff or playin isn't impossible.
Another great Efes win, this week they beat both Belgrade teams. With return of Larkin Efes looks great. Career game of Osmani with 25 points, he played almost without substitutions.

What a horrible injury i cannot belive he broke his ankle like that. He will be at least 4 months of the field and i think they need to bring a new center to cover his position as fast as possible. My Partizan with another loss and things arent looking good for us. So many injuries having effect on us and i dont know what we can do to get that play in position

Today I went to Anadolu Efes' new stadium for the first time to watch their match against Crvena zvezda. It was really competitive until the end of Q3. However there was a mega performance by Anadolu Efes in the last quarter. The score was like 30-10. Grin Oturu and Bryant made a big contribution. Oturu has improved his scoring even when it comes to free-throws this season. His contribution is really valuable and I hope to see more of it.

Really nice seats and a good view. I dont know how the atmosphere is there while the game is on. Anadolu Efes was struggling a lot in the first half with 13+ turnovers i was thinking Anadolu was gonna lose because of it but that 4th quarter they destroyed Crvena Zvezda and another good game by Bryant he was on fire

That's cool! The seats also look nice, not too far away from the court. I remember when you went to the old arena the tickets were super cheap (compared to other places I have watched games at).
I wonder how much that one was. Obviously it's awesome to also see your team win when you go there for the first time. After the first quarter it really didn't look like it but thankfully they cam back and rallied for the easy win. Must have been a great time I suppose!

The new stadium looks really great to be honest. It is much more modern than Sinan Erdem Dome. There are even escalators instead of stairs to reach upper levels which didn't exist in their previous stadium. The only con for me might be that their previous place was nearer my home. Tongue But still it is easy to go to this stadium by public transport. When it comes to the tickets, I paid 690 Turkish Liras (~20 dollars) for mine. But you can still watch it from a good place for a cheaper price which is about 10 dollars.
