Aside from Euroleague there is a lot of interesting games in Europe as well. Eurocup for example is also stacked with nice teams. Also following the Champions league and Europe cup since in these you can basically always expect major upsets almost every week, which of course is quite nice especially for betting people.
This week up there were not so many surprises though. Today aside from the regular Euroleague there is also Euroleague woman and Eurocup woman which I frequently follow. Especially the Euroleague team's roster might change significantly in the next weeks since plenty of WNBA talent will make the regular jump over to Europe to finally earn some money. So funny that the self proclaimed "best league in the world" pays less than some European teams.  Tongue

Zalgiris Kaunas continues their great performance in the tournament compared to last season. They have 3 wins in 4 games. In the double game week, first they won against Virtus, then they came from behind to win a historic victory against Milano. Giedraitis, who tied his career high with 15 points in the previous game, scored a career high 21 points. Francisco is having a good season. Zalgiris Kaunas will play Maccabi at home in their classic atmosphere. It's already hard to beat them in this atmosphere. They will also come with a great morale. Maccabi defeated Anadolu Efes in the first game of last week and lost to Partizan in the last minute. In both games they were not in good shape defensively. Zalgiris Kaunas can take advantage of that.

WTF Euroleague, this is how I saw last seconds of Crvena Zvezda - Barcelona. And I can't trust in Flashscore app as they showed that game is over after 4th quarter with Zvezda win. At least I was able to watch OT. Great game, though IMO referees didn't worked very well. So, we already don't have undefeated teams in Euroleague.

Got so much joy watch Efes - Olympiacos, especially when you see Fournier playing like in his best times. Both teams deserved to win, but in last minutes there was quite many bad decisions and mistakes from both sides. But Efes were a bit more accurate in decisive moments.

Not the first time flashscore displays game wrong or end games prematurely. Had that so often over the years. And it never ended well for me, just thought my team won and then suddenly they lost. But it never happened the other way around, haha. That are the worst things that can happen to a fan or a bettor, you think you won and seconds later get punched in the gut.

I was quite sure Zvezda would win this one and I was surprised the odds for this one have been even. Until now they showed some great games and obviously they played at Belgrade Arena as well, which is an intimidating arena for visiting teams. But well, the first loss had to come at some point I guess. I am surprised that the 2 Greek teams are only 2:2 until now. After all the big additions they made, especially Panathinaikos, you would expect a better start. Maybe they are still rusty.

I also enjoyed watching this game a lot. But I was really nervous to be honest for a long time. Because Anadolu Efes started really poorly to the match and it took them so long to get ahead. They somehow managed to win by a slight gap but their defense is really alarming which is the truth. Sad Fournier was really like a machine and they weren't able to stop him. I hope this doesn't become a bigger problem for Anadolu Efes in the long term.

As I expected, Fenerbahçe defeated Alba Berlin away 71-78 and was the superior team from start to finish.

In the other match of the night that I followed, Panathinaikos lost 90-86 away to Real Madrid. With this defeat, Pana suffered its second defeat in 4 matches, but it has played three of the 4 matches it has played away so far.
Pana has formed a very ambitious team this year too. Cedi Osman and Ömer Faruk Yurtseven from the NBA added strength to the team.

The biggest championship candidate in the Euroleague may again be Panathinaikos.

Wow, you can predict the future. The 7 point favorite won which was basically a home game for them, how could you possibly know that?  Roll Eyes

We don't want/need posts like this in this thread to be honest, if you want to spam "recaps" of games please go to the regular spammer threads of domestic football leagues and others.
By the way, what you write is even wrong because Fener was NOT the superior team from start to finish. If you watched the game you would know, but of course you didn't. Alba started well, lead by 7 on the first quarter and even won that quarter. Fenerbahce only got a small lead mid way through the 2nd one and extended it in the 3rd. Alba even made it a 2 possession game in the 4th but there wasn't enough time to complete a comeback.

Dude, you opened the title, that's all. I am a Fenerbahçe fan and I have been following the Euroleague for years.
Of course, we were the superior side in front of Alba Berlin.
I understand you are a supporter of Alba Berlin and the defeat hurt you.
I will write more carefully from now on, but there are not many people writing posts in the title.
I have noticed for a long time that Euroleague is not a topic that attracts the attention of many people in the forum.
Those who comment on basketball generally write under the NBA title.
By the way, I follow Fenerbahçe and Panathinaikos.
Because Fenerbahce is my team. I have two championship candidates, either Fenerbahçe or Pana.
Kind regards...

Hey there. First off, you are wrong again since I am definitely NOT an Alba fan, haha. I hate Alba and Bayern since they are the "rich teams" in Germany. I support a totally different team in Germany, just so you know.
Second, what you wrote was straight up wrong and also had no merit. Sure Fener is the better team but they did NOT dominate from start to finish. Alba won the first and lead up until several minutes in the 2nd quarter, I watched the game. But whatever. Also, we know how the game ended, so unnecessary recaps with no special information is considered spam in my opinion. I actually gave YOU informations about that this is not a home game for Alba since so many Turkish people live in Berlin, when Turkish teams play there its always kind of an away game for Alba.

If you are really a fan of basketball you should write some better comments instead of 1 post that says these teams will play against each other and the next is they played against each other and this is the result.

I know there are not many people commenting here, that's why I want/hope for a nice communication between basketball lovers, and not only for signature campaign benefits. I hope you understand where I'm coming from! Cheers

What win, mate? My team isn't playing in Euroleague, so I watch it as neutral spectator with some sympathy to some teams.

I read it wrong mate sorry. I was really sad after seeing that horrible performance of us. Sad I have never seen Fenerbahçe this desperate in offense for a long time.

However today we did a really good work which made me happy again. I knew Alba Berlin were already a struggling team. I was hoping us to benefit from their condition. We played really well especially in the second half. I really love to watch Nigel Hayes. He was our top scorer in this game as well. Nicolo Melli was strong in defense and offense both. We had a decent day in terms of 3-pointers too. Before the big Panathinaikos game, it was a nice win.

German team Ulm right now is playing in Portland against the Trailblazers from the NBA and it's only an 8 point game at the beginning of the forth, handicap was 40 for that one. Shows that even the smaller teams from Europe somehow can compete with NBA talent these days, even when of course it's just an exhibition.
I'm actually not surprised that it was quite close game. After all, it's just pre-season game, no reason to try sweeping opponent by 30-40 points.
Real competetive game between European and NBA team would be interesting, but probably not possible because of rules difference. Defensive 3 seconds rule is what makes biggest difference IMO.

And by the way, the arena in Berlin will have WAY more Turkish supporters than any other nationality, so this is NOT a home game for Berlin at all, trust me. Fenerbahce will own this one, on the ranks and on the court.

It was probably 50/50, but Fener fans were much louder. Quite close game, but there was no feeling that Alba can fight for the win, Fenerbahche controlled game.
Maccabi - Partizan was close game too, but Partizan looked more confident in the end. Tamir Blatt was 1 rebound and 1 assist away from tripple double.
Olimpia Milano leaves no chance for Zalgiris, didn't expected such big difference. Real keep 12 points again Panathinaikos and my bet is burning lol.

Edit
My post aged so badly. Zalgiris made huge comeback from -27 and won game. Not really sure what happened there. Biggest comeback in Euroleague history.

There is a Alba Berlin Fenerbahçe Beko match tonight. Alba Berlin defeated Asvel in their last match, and Fenerbahçe lost to Red Star on their home field, and this was a shock defeat for Fenerbahçe.
Although Fenerbahçe is the favorite on paper, Alba Berlin is a team that plays good basketball at home.
I think the match will end with a victory for Fenerbahçe.

LOL, did you see even one single game from ALBA this season? They are a horrible assembled team right now, lost quality players and replaced them with leftovers nobody really wanted in Europe.
They barely beat a 2nd tier team some days ago and will have no chance against Fenerbahce, especially when Fener needs to win after their big setback 2 nights ago.
And by the way, the arena in Berlin will have WAY more Turkish supporters than any other nationality, so this is NOT a home game for Berlin at all, trust me. Fenerbahce will own this one, on the ranks and on the court.

After today's Barca win against Monaco, there is only one team remaining undefeated - Crvena Zvezda. It's still early phase of season, but anyway, such leader is very unexpected.
On Thursday we have repeat last season final - Panathinaikos - Real. My money is on PAO.

Congratulations on your win mate.

Yeah looking at recent performances it would be Pana to pick, but there is a big but, Real Madrid is playing at home and all their weak performances basically only came on the road. Only the loss in the Supercopa came at home.
Well let's see, odds makers see Real as a slight 2 points favorite to win this one, shows how close these 2 teams are right now when real is getting such high odds for a home game.

Not only Fener but the whole day was full or surprises. Real lost again, Panathinaikos lost as a 8 point favorite, Efes lost having -5.5, Virtus lost at home vs Zalgiris and Alba winning was a big surprise for me as well.
But it's also refreshing to see that there can be some upsets and the big teams are not impossible to beat. In the last years this wasn't so common. Maybe the quality of teams is getting closer a little bit so that any team can beat a big one at any given time as well, isn't that fun?

Anyway, since we have a double weeks let's see how teams like Real, Pana and Fener will bounce back after these unexpected losses.

We have huge upset - Crvena Zvezda won in Istanbul by 19 points against Fenerbahche. They let Fener to score only 57 points, that's some elite defense. Saras must be furious tonight.
Paris unexpected have 10 points lead in 4th quarter against Panathinaikos, ending of game should be hot.

Congratulations on your win mate. It was a really horrible night for us. Sad I don't know what happened to us tonight. Actually we started with great wins against Olympiacos and Anadolu Efes. I never expected to be this weak in offense at home. I only liked Nigel Hayes today that's all. Our opponent was so comfortable with 3-pointers as well. We weren't good in defense either. I was only happy with our effort in the 2nd and 3rd quarters.

Anadolu Efes missed the win by a couple of points too. If only they were more careful in defense in the last moments, they could have made it.

Did you see Real over the weekend? They had kind of a sensational loss @Bilbao. I watched that game and while Bilbao played a truly great game Real didn't look like the Euroleague team we know. They really have to switch gears for the double week, that's for sure. Especially the 2nd game will be tough when they are hosting Panathinaikos, looking forward to that one.
Yeah, I saw it. I was surprised when they lost to league newcomers, this loss already didn't surprised me. As I already said, so far Real game looks concerning.
And battle of "garbage teams" was interesting and close. Saw only ending of game where Alba were more confident.

Fenerbahce Beko has had a great start to the EuroLeague season. After defeating strong opponents like Olympiacos and Anadolu Efes, Fenerbahce Beko is led by stars like Wade Baldwin and Nigel Hayes-Davis. However, Fenerbahce Beko has been unlucky with injuries. Scottie Wilbekin suffered a season ending injury while Marko Guduric will not be able to play this week.

KK Crvena zvezda, like Fenerbahce Beko, is one of the teams that started the season with a two for two performance. They defeated Paris Basketball and Baskonia, but the real test for them starts now. So far KK Crvena zvezda has stood out with its defense. Canaan is playing like the leader of the team. They have important short like Nedovic, Dos Santos, McIntryre. Fenerbahce Beko is pushing their opponents with their defense. Even though they are dealing with injuries, Fenerbahce Beko will win this game with the support of its fans.

We have first double week of Euroleague this season and it will begin tomorrow. 8 of 9 games will be played on Tuesday, almost on same time, while on Wednesday only one game will be played. I have no words about such schedule.
Not decided what I will watch, maybe Baskonia - Real. Fortunately, my TV provider shows all Euroleague games, so, it won't be a problem to tune in any of games if something interesting will happen there.

Today I will follow Alba versus Asvel in the "battle of the garbage teams" from last season. Seems like Asvel turned it around a bit though. Alba almost lost in the German cup 2 days ago against a 2nd tier team. They were up by 1 point with 1.6 seconds to go and the other team got 3 free throws and missed them all to gift Alba the win. Gonne be tough to win in the EL if you play that bad against 2nd tier opponents, haha.
