Zalgiris survives and moves series to Vilnius. It was again close game, Zalgiris were leading most of time and it looked that Rytas needs some little run like 5:0 to take initiative, what didn't happened.
I already written of Efes, but Larkin with buzzer-beater says that it's not over yet. Seems that we still can expect interesting things there. Similar like in Greece where Panathinaikos makes series 2:1.
What is a bit unexpect is Alba win vs Bayern away, odds for Alba was something like 5.00. 1:1 now.
And Real in comfortable way goving towards another ACB title, 2:0 already.

Lithuania is hosting Lebanon tonight which is an interesting matchup. I tried to read some stuff about the Lithuania team that is doing a training camp at the moment and it seems they are still missing all of the big names.
The best players of course are still active in the Lithuanian finals and the NBA players I guess also still rest.
Replying a bit too late, but it's not real Lithuanian team, it's reserve team with some young players. If 1 or 2 players from this squad will get into main team, it will be surprise. They will play 2 more games with Lebanon, while main team will begin training camp next week.

I also watched the Kaunas vs Rytas game for a while.
Kaunas had a comfortable lead all game lonng pretty much. Not a big surprise they didn't wave the white flag in defeat. I expect the next game to be really close and maybe we will see a game 5, wouldn't be too much of a surprise.

About the Lithuania game, yeah I knew that. Thank god I didn't bet it, even after the handicap went up after I posted, to +23,5. Short time later my bookie took off the handicap and only offered moneyline, so I didn't get a chance to play it anyway.

Lebanon, even though Lithuania just competed with a young squad, had no chance and lost by like 30 points. Dodged a bullet there.

I never thought that we would start the series against Anadolu Efes this good. Because we had a big disappointment in the Final Four. However the players are completely focused on the league now. Anadolu Efes has a great roster. They have a capacity to qualify for Final Four next season with 1-2 transfers. But I think that they still couldn't find the right coach. I hope that Fenerbahçe announce their championship this evening.

Next to the finals we have going down at the moment another interesting part begins now, plenty of test matches for the upcoming Olympic games qualifiers and of course for the Olympics.

Because of this I am surprised to see Lebanon being a 21 point underdog, very surprised.

I wonder if it's a good idea to make a small wager on +21,5 points for Lebanon, seems like a high possibility to hit.

Wow, Fenerbahche just blew away Efes 101:70 and now are just 1 win away from the trophy. And I expected interesting final here...
Real had no problems in their first final game against Murcia. It's something what everyone expected and very likely that final will end 3:0. Murcia already performed above their limits in semifinal vs Unicaja.
Things is much more interesting in Italy and Germany. Both games were close, but both home teams - Bayern and Virtus won.

Damn, what a destruction!
I though putting a small wager on Fener because after game 1 I didn't feel they should be the underdog in game 2. Unfortunately the game started so late for me so I didn't and decided to sleep instead.
Well, as it goes, as always, I don't make the bet and it would have been a winner of course.

Seems like this series is over for sure. Fenerbahce will be a 8 point home favourite I suppose so their next championship is very close.
Germany also just saw their first game with between the 2 "power houses" Munich and Berlin, as expected Munich won quite easy.  Cry. I really dislike this team and hope Berlin can turn this around, even though I doubt they have a chance.

LTU_btc you caught very nice odds really, congratulations. If you have any tips about Lithuania basketball you can share it here as well.  Tongue
Haha, I can, but I'm kinda biased here, so, I just put bet on my team's win Cheesy. Unfortunately didn't put some money on Rytas outright to win whole series before the final, it had to be really high odds.

Anadolu Efes' not putting tickets up for sale to prevent Fenerbahçe fans from buying tickets caused the tribunes to be half empty in the final series. And this was a disgrace. Fenerbahçe were the superior side from the beginning of the match to the end. And they captured the home advantage by managing to get a comfortable win in the first match of the series.

As I thought that Anadolu Efes would react while getting close to the last quarter I made a bet like this. Even though the reaction that I expected didn't happen I'm still happy that my betslip won.

It's a disgrace that there are no Fenerbahce fans in the stadium. It's a disgrace for Turkish basketball that the final series was played in an empty stadium. Anadolu Efes was asleep on defense against Fenerbahce. This gave Calathes an extra opportunity to show his skills and experience. If Calathes stays at Fenerbahce for at least one more season, with quality players and a good long rotation, Fenerbahce will be a stronger contender for the Euroleague title. Efes has the power to turn this series around, but it will be very difficult if they continue to sleep in the games. Anadolu Efes management should focus on basketball and open the games to the audience. If they think they can win this series with different strategies, they are wrong. Fenerbahce will be the winner of this series.

Wasn't able to watch Greek league final as none of my TV channels don't show it. Olympiacos took a lead 2:0, so, what's wrong with PAO? Hangover after winning Euroleague?

Ergin Ataman isn't actually a coach who would allow his players to get complacent. However I also don't know why the situation is like that now.

Wow, that's really shameful decision, it looks like mentality of small club. Watched a bit of game and Fenerbahche cointrolled it quite confidently.

Even though I'm a Fenerbahçe fan I supported Anadolu Efes by going to quite many of their matches this season. And I really wanted to be able to buy a ticket for this match. However Anadolu Efes had a quite adamant attitude on this topic. It was quite embarrassing that the final series was played in front of empty stands.

In Lithunian LKL final Rytas took second win against Zalgiris and now 1 win away from title. Similar like in 1st game, Zalgiris had double digit lead, only Rytas made comeback earlier, in 3rd quarter. And again game ended with overtime, though, there was contraversial moment, it looks like there was foul against Ulanovas in the end of 4th quarter:

Not celebrating yet, but it would be nice to end work on Monday in Kaunas. But this little bet made my Friday even more fun:

Haha, seems like that plan backfired. Not only did they miss out on income through tickets sales, but in the end lost the game after all, so having less Fener fans in the arena didn't help at all. Strange move I must say.

In Germany unfortunately ALBA won game 5 and we have the Euroleague German final against Bayern Munich now, totally lame. Would have loved to see Chemnitz advance, but that's basketball.

NBA finals just started also so my mornings I can watch these on the game days as well, so nice!

Murcia did something unforgetable. Team that never played in semifinals, now eliminates Unicaja after winning all 3 their games away in Malaga and will play in the final for the first time. They were big underdogs, they don't have big names  in their squad and their few players is injured.
LKL final starts with Rytas away win against Zalgiris after overtime. With just 2:30 minutes remaining Rytas were down by 10, but Gorham's 3 and foul started big Rytas run. Zalgiris without Evans is vulnerable and Rytas have good chance to fight for the title.
Greek final starts with Olympiacos away Panathinaikos, had no chance to watch this game. Tomorrow Turkish and Italian finals will begin, 2nd game of French final and Game 5 in semifinal between Alba and Chemnitz.

Yeah, it's finals time almost everywhere now.
Amazing how Murcia managed to win this. Didn't imagine them beating Unicaja yet again after they tied it and took both games in Murcia. That's why we love basketball, you just never know.
In Germany Chemnitz was SOOOO close of eliminating ALBA. They played game 4 at home, leading by 10 and everything looked great until mid way through the 3rd, then they fell apart and ALBA took over and won. Now the series goes back to Berlin for a deciding game 5, so sad.
Still amazing what Chemnitz has achieved in such a short time. Founded in 1999 they came to the Bundesliga for the first time ever 4 years ago. Now they are competing for a championship and won the FIBA Europe cup this year, which much less financial option than the big teams!!

Yeah there is a lot going on. Rytas is playing BC Wolves later today, I will watch that.
Also Murcia is hosting Malaga and even after winning 2 games away they are a 3-4 point underdog for the home game, that's interesting.
Italy, Turkey and Greece are the usual stuff, never any surprises there unfortunately.

Watching 2 games ( Rytas and Malaga ) today and maybe a bit of the first final in Brazil as well, haha. Have to watch bball while they are still playing, it's gonna be over soon unfortunately.

Rytas won quite difficult game and it means that we will have traditional final between Rytas and Zalgiris in LKL. Happy for Rytas win, losing against Wolves would be embarrasing, then we would be just 2nd team of Vilnius.
Malaga managed to beat Murcia away in game full ups and downs from both teams. Whilke Real closedseries today, beating Barca in Palau Blaugrana. It's logical outcome, but didn't expected that series will end 3:0.
What a great game 5 between Paris and Asvel and Paris reaches final. Asvel failing to do that is probably another reason why they shouldn't be in Euroleague. Similar things can be said about Alba who lost to Chemnitz and now 1 loss away from elimination.

A bit of summary what's going on European leagues playoffs.
In Spanish ACB semifinals Real have no problems with Barcelona and leading 2:0, what isn't surprise. What is more unexpected, Murcia is leading 2:0 against regular season winners Unicaja 2:0, winning both games away and they can end series today.
In Turkey and Italy everything as expected. We will have final between Olimpian and Virtus, while Fenerbahche and Efes are leading their series. Same in Greece with Panathinaikos and Olympiacos.
In Lithuania Zalgiris is waiting for their opponent in the final and we will have decisive Game 5 between Rytas and Wolves. Same thing in France, Monaco is in the final alread and Game 5 between Paris and Asvel will be played tomorrow.
In Germany Bayern have no problems with Wurzburg and are 1 win away from the final, while Alba yesterday made score 1:1 with Chemnitz.

What a weekend for Greek basketball, back on top in European club basketball.
Man the final really was something. It looked like an easy game for Real in the first 12 minutes, leading by 14, scoring at will and controlling the pace. But then, they totally fell apart.
36 points in the first quarter was really special but what followed was kind of terrible for them. I mean how is it even possible to score 36 points in 10 minutes and then 44 points in the last 30 minutes?? So strange.

But anyway, well deserved win for Panathinaikos after a great season and good fight to get back into the game in the finals.
Olympiakos snatching 3rd place is just another proof for Greek basketball power this season, well deserved!!

I already thought that it will be easy final Real, but how Panathinaikos returned to game was impressive. I think that one of main reasons which let them to do it was attacking Tavares who was vulnerable in defense and Matteo kept him on court.
You can love or hate Ergin Ataman, but now with 3rd title he is one of best coaches in Euroleague history. And taking Sloukas from Olympiacos was best transfer of last summer without much doubts. But want to say few words about Lessort, love this guy, how much energy and passion he brings. Every team would like to have him in their roster.

Wow it's been ages since Panathinaikos has played so well in any international tournament. Not only did they win, but they were able to crush their opponents both in defense and offense.

People over here in Greece are still out on the streets partying and creating s ruckus, many roads all across the country remain closed, people on the street keep honking their cars in the middle of the night. It's crazy. Well deserved though, Panathinaikos had one of the greatest turnarounds ever in recent years.

I'm really sad after Fenerbahçe's being eliminated.  Sad  I don't know how our performance went this bad in such a short time. I think Panathinaikos weren't very good at defending today. They gave big spaces to us but we just couldn't take advantage of most of those chances. Wilbekin had a horrible day with only 2 points out of 10 FG attempts.

Now there is a Real Madrid - Panathinaikos matchup in the final. If Panathinaikos perform like this in defense there too I don't think Real Madrid would be forgiving.
Fenerbahche played one of worst games this season. Failing to score even 60 points in crucial game is disaster. Panathinaikos defence was good enough, but also, Fenerbahche missed many open shots.
Other semifinal was boring, Real started game powerful, and basically didn't looked back. They showed why they were best team on regular season and are main favorites.
So, we will have 1st and 2nd ranked teams playing in the final.

Yeah too bad. Bad timing to bring the worst game in an elimination game of that caliber.
But at least we have to best 2 teams of the regular season in the final, that's just fair and I am actually happy it ended that way.
Berlin atmosphere was great as expected, especially before Fenerbahce fell apart, haha.

Let's hope for a good final and then it's time to wait for the next season already.
