Well, they're hitting new bottom, Milan managed to lose game against Alba who didn't had 8 their players. And that moment when Messina already wanted to shake hands with Alba coach thinking that game is over, despite that it was going to overtime, well, I don't even know what to say.

It is very sad to see a legendary coach like Messina in this situation. After seeing someone's comment on Twitter likening him to Joe Biden I laughed a lot. However it is very obvious that the best decision for Milano is to part ways with Messina.

Alba Berlin don't have 7 players because of injuries. If Milan will fail to beat them, I have no idea what excuse Messina will find.

That's just wow. I mean missing 7 players is one thing already, but it's also ALBA Berlin, at the moment the worst team in Euroleague, before the season projected last place and even in the domestic league in Germany they are only 3:4 for 10th place, which really is very rare for them to have this many losses that early in the season. So yes, losing against this team, with all the facts considered, is inexcusable I think. With a roster like this, that's just sad.
But also props to Alba refusing to lose. 4 players with 20+ points while only 6 players scored any points, that's crazy.

Fenebahce Beko's defense is alarming.

I don't agree with this. Fenerbahçe did a great defending throughout the match. One shouldn't forget that Bayern Munich are one of the best offense teams in the Euroleague. Especially in the 2nd quarter of the match we let Bayern Munich score only 9 points.
Agree, after all, they let Bayern to score 76 points, what isn't bad achievement at all IMO.

Especially in the 2nd quarter of the match we let Bayern Munich score only 9 points. The main problem for Fenerbahçe in this match was their not being able to score easy points. We managed to win the match by solving this problem too with Nigel Hayes-Davis' great performance in the 3rd quarter.

Fenerbahçe continues on its path at full speed. In the nine matches he has played so far. They had only two defeats and both of them were at home. Today, against Bayern, they fell behind only in the first period, but took the lead in the second period with good defense and attack.
He held Bayern to 9 points in the second period.
Carsen Edwards and Devin Booker contributed to Bayern's scoring.

I think Fenerbahçe sent Carsen Edwards off the team early. He is a young player and he should have been insisted on. He could easily contribute the same scoring contribution he did to Bayern in Fenerbahçe's squad. Tarık Biberovic has been patient for a long time and now he is reaping its fruits. He makes a serious contribution to the team. Carsen Edwards was an early loss for Fenerbahçe.

Fenerbahce Beko is a team with a lot of shortcomings, not playing very well, not yet cohesive, in need of transfers, not getting enough contribution from the new signings and dealing with injury problems, but despite all this they are doing great things. Not to forget that they started with a lucky draw.

If Nigel Hayes-Davis hadn't played a tremendous game in the third quarter, this game might have ended in frustration for Fenerbahce Beko. Fenebahce Beko's defense is alarming. If Jasikevicius can bring the defense to a strong level and make small reinforcements to the team, Fenerbahce Beko can see F4. Otherwise, I think it will be difficult to qualify for F4 with this defense.

3 Euros for Euroleague game? Damn, in my country you only can get ticket to 2nd division game for such price. But I guess that tickets to Fenerbahche costs a bit more. Efes don't have such big fanbase, so, they have to work to attract more spectators.

You are right that tickets for Fenerbahce matches are more expensive than Anadolu Efes ones. At Fenerbahce's place Ulker Sports Arena the cheapest ticket for Euroleague matches costs 300 Turkish Liras (8 euros). 15 euros would be enough for an above average place. We are going to play a quite difficult match against Bayern today.

Double Euroleague week again, 7 games today. Most interesting game for me is Fenerbahche - Bayern - 2 leading teams face each other. Baskonia - Efes matchup is always interesting to watch too.

I have just seen your message. Cry I hope that you come to Turkey one day. Maybe we can watch a game together. Smiley I paid only 3 euros for the Barcelona game ticket.  Shocked

Olympiacos yesterday. It is very difficult to say he is quite successful in derbies. Ataman blamed the fans with not being fired up enough in the post-game interview last night. Ataman always manages to find someone to blame.

Wish our local league here would be a bit like this.

3 euro, for an Euroleague game, that's actually insane. In Japan, in a relatively weak league, we pay around 15-20euro for kind of the second cheapest seat available, haha. Lucky for me I have a friend that works for a beer sponsor and occasionally he can get cheap or even free tickets.

About Ataman, that's really funny. I have heard a lot of excuses in the past but blaming the fans for not giving their all is hilarious. Guess in an away game he would blame the home fans as well because they were "too noisy", hahaha.

Greek derby was probably best what we saw in Euroleague this season so far. High intensity game without wasting much time on watching replays, But there is one thing which doesn't change - Olympiacos don't lose Euroleague games against Panathinaikos in recent years. It was so nice to see what performance in 4th quarter Fournier has made, he is MVP of the game.
BTW, interesting thing that Ataman took his first  and only timeout in whole game only in 4th quarter with a bit more than 1 minute remaining.
Meanwhile there was between Asvel and Fenerbahche and it looked that it will never end. There was so many pauses when ball wasn't in play. Solid Asvel game, but not enough for a win.

Zalgiris head coach Andrea Trinchieri stated that Lonnie Walker IV is ready to play tonight against Bayern. I plan to watch the game tomorrow as I'm curious to see how Lonnie Walker IV will perform in his first Euroleague game. I might even bet on Zalgris winning the game Tongue
I'm surprised that he had such big role in debut game. Wasn't great performance, he missed lot of shots, but he needs some time.
Meanwhile Real Madrid is still without away win. Failing to beat Milan is already quite big alarm.
And tomorrow main game of the week - Greek derby between Panathinaikos and Olympiacos. Put some money on PAO, can't wait to watch the game.

Walker had a pretty bad performance in his first game, but as you said, he needs more time to adjust. After Ergin Ataman took over, Panathinaikos has become one of the best teams in Europe, so I also think Pana will win the game.

Well, it sure wasn't the start they were hoping for him. Even though I am German I am always rooting against Bayern Munich, so I wanted Zalgiris to win actually. Too bad this didn't happen even though they made a good push in the final quarter which then wasn't enough though.
Didn't really watch Euroleague last night because currently the woman's EuroBasket qualifiers are running, so I followed some games of that for a change. Lot of blowouts but the German game vs Greece was a close and nice game!

Asvel has been one of the worst teams in the Euroleague in recent years, but this season they have been looking good. In many games they didn't stop fighting until the last moment. But against Bayern Munich they had a bad offensive organization. De Colo stepped in, but it wasn't enough. Harrison played badly and Ajinca was ineffective. Fenerbahce, on the other hand, hit a lot of threes against Partizan and got a clear win. The in form Tarik came close to breaking his career high with 17 points. Nigel Hayes reacted against Partizan and lived up to expectations. Hall, on the other hand, is on a roll. Fenerbahce is definitely the favorite in this game.

Why are you "reporting" about a game that happened like 5 days ago? If you like to spam useless stuff, at least be up to date and not summarize old games from last week.  Roll Eyes At least have some meaning to your posts and not just to collect them, it's not that hard you know.
Today for example we have several nice Eurocup and Champions League games running, Trento ( that last weekend blew out EL team Milan? is right now facing Badalona and every time it seems like Badalona is gone for good Trento crawls back with a couple of 3s. Still I think it won't be enough for them after a TERRIBLE start in the game. I knew right from the start this game was decided in the first 5 minutes and even though Trento came close they never really came over the hump.

Afterthought:  and now that I wrote it Trento won it in the final minute, taking the lead after being down the first 39min and 15sec, especially after being down 15 in the first and also by 13 with 8min to go in the final quarter. What a game!

Thank you for your feedback. In my writings I usually try to write about the previous performances of the matching teams and evaluate the upcoming matches accordingly. I will pay more attention from now on. Thanks.

To be honest, seeing Zalgiris Kaunas make the transfer of the year in the EuroLeague while the season is still underway was a huge surprise for me. Kaunas has signed Lonnie Walker IV. I think Walker will adjust quickly, and with this signing, Zalgiris has taken a huge step toward reaching the Final Four.

https://x.com/bczalgiris/status/1851758052090749254

That's a great addition to a already well working roster. Am am still surprised about this. I mean last season he averaged almost 10 points in the NBA, which is ok for a role player. If he performs well me might see him back in the NBA though since his contract has a clause that allows him to return at any time ( before February 18, 2025 ). Still, even if he would be there for only half a season or whatever it's a sweet deal I think and this should benefit both, the team and the player!
