Asvel has been one of the worst teams in the Euroleague in recent years, but this season they have been looking good. In many games they didn't stop fighting until the last moment. But against Bayern Munich they had a bad offensive organization. De Colo stepped in, but it wasn't enough. Harrison played badly and Ajinca was ineffective. Fenerbahce, on the other hand, hit a lot of threes against Partizan and got a clear win. The in form Tarik came close to breaking his career high with 17 points. Nigel Hayes reacted against Partizan and lived up to expectations. Hall, on the other hand, is on a roll. Fenerbahce is definitely the favorite in this game.

Why are you "reporting" about a game that happened like 5 days ago? If you like to spam useless stuff, at least be up to date and not summarize old games from last week.  Roll Eyes At least have some meaning to your posts and not just to collect them, it's not that hard you know.
Today for example we have several nice Eurocup and Champions League games running, Trento ( that last weekend blew out EL team Milan? is right now facing Badalona and every time it seems like Badalona is gone for good Trento crawls back with a couple of 3s. Still I think it won't be enough for them after a TERRIBLE start in the game. I knew right from the start this game was decided in the first 5 minutes and even though Trento came close they never really came over the hump.

Afterthought:  and now that I wrote it Trento won it in the final minute, taking the lead after being down the first 39min and 15sec, especially after being down 15 in the first and also by 13 with 8min to go in the final quarter. What a game!

To be honest, seeing Zalgiris Kaunas make the transfer of the year in the EuroLeague while the season is still underway was a huge surprise for me. Kaunas has signed Lonnie Walker IV. I think Walker will adjust quickly, and with this signing, Zalgiris has taken a huge step toward reaching the Final Four.

That's a great addition to a already well working roster. Am am still surprised about this. I mean last season he averaged almost 10 points in the NBA, which is ok for a role player. If he performs well me might see him back in the NBA though since his contract has a clause that allows him to return at any time ( before February 18, 2025 ). Still, even if he would be there for only half a season or whatever it's a sweet deal I think and this should benefit both, the team and the player!

I thought you might post when I watched Zalgiris vs Monaco tonight. It really was a tough battle and sometimes not so nice to watch but in the end I am glad that Zalgiris won cause I am not a fan of Monaco to be honest. I prefer the traditional teams in this cup and not some team that got pumped with money some years ago and is allowed to play in the highest class since then, same with Bayern Munich and the worst example of all the Dubai team.

Surprising to see Pana having so many troubles with Zvezda right now. It's just a small gap but I thought Pana would have it easier somehow. Yet, every game at Belgrade are is tough I guess, the fans are insane as always.
I also prefer traditional teams over rich clubs without history behind them. Though Monaco is one of rare exceptions - I kinda like them. They have some players that I like and their games is interesting to watch for me. While Zalgiris, despite that they're from my country, I just can't like them, but I have to admit that they're doing amazing thingsso far.
Panathinaikos managed to make an comeback and win game. After powerful start now it's already 4th lose in a row for Zvezda in Euroleague.

This double round week had so much events that's difficult to summarize everything in one post. I'll begin with game-winners. Bryant Dunston from Zalgiris against Crvena Zvezda and Maccabi's Saben Lee against Real. After 2 losses this week Real Madrid is still without away wins, while they don't have much trouble at home.
Zalgiris wins against Monaco in very low scoring game against Monaco and now leads Euroleague table after 7 round. I don't know who saw this coming.
What surprised me is such one-sided action in Olympiacos - Barcelona and Fenerbahche - Partizan games, home teams got confident wins.
I guess that Luca Bianchi have hotest chair in Euroleague now. His face after loses says it all.

Yeah, without Larkin it was difficult to fight for Efes. After halftime Barca gained double digit lead and didn't looked back.
While game in Kaunas between Fenerbahche and Maccabi had late drama. Maccabi had lead for most part of game, but solid 4th quarter let Fenerbahche to return to the game and win it. Maccabi had last posession being 2 points down, but Jokubaitis messed up with it.

Without Larkin it was really hard for Efes to win the big game as I anticipated. I was quite surprised to see Efes favored on betting sites before the match. I expected Fenerbahçe to win more comfortably, but they really struggled against Maccabi. If it wasn’t for the comeback in the final quarter, Fenerbahçe would have taken a major hit on the way to the final-four.

Partizan made some remarkable moves in the pre season. After winning consecutive games, they had a scoring crisis in the last quarter against winless Bologna and lost a game they should have won. They committed too many turnovers and struggled with rebounds. Many players played very inefficiently. Sterling Brown, who scored 20 points in the previous games, couldn't find his rhythm on outside shots. Injured Carlik and Tyrique Jones are doubtful.

Monaco lost against Paris after three wins in the first four games. Loyd and Vitto Brown played badly. Against Virtus Bologna they played very well in the second half. They took advantage of the opponent's turnovers. Okobo had a very good performance. Vitto Brown, who was not preferred in the first games, also had a flash game. James reacted after the previous game. Loyd was back in the team. Furkan and Calathes were absent again. I expect Partizan to dominate the first half.

Olympiacos is back on winning way after few losses. Now they beat Real Madrid.
While in Europe you often see shirtless men jumping and singing at games in here it's a whole different world. I would say in Japan the main audience is woman and kids actually, definitely more than me. I wonder why that is, I guess because in here we have that "idol culture" where sports athletes are more treated like idols rather than athletes, so strange right?

People in Asia have completely different mentality than in Europe. But even in different parts of Europe you see how much different support of teams is. From wild crowds in Greece or Serbia to family friendly atmosphere in Germany or France.

That's true, mentality is different everywhere. Some areas are definitely more passionate that others.  Grin

About Euroleague, we saw plenty of big 2nd halfes or 4th quarters. The mentioned comeback by Fenerbahce in the final quarter was already nice but Paris's 2nd half at ALBA was also impressive. In the first they have been down by as many as 14 points but then shifted some gears up to an in the end easy win in the 2nd half. Olympiacos also with a big 13 point gap final quarter versus Real is yet another example.
In the Eurocup we saw the same from the BC Wolfes against Besiktas. They went from 22:36 in the 2nd to 76:52 in the 3rd, basically a 54:16 run over a span of 15 minutes, that's crazy, especially thinking they were the underdog in this one as well.

I'm going to a basketball game for the first time this season. Anadolu Efes will host Barcelona at home today. The Anadolu Efes management has asked fans to wear red t-shirts for the match because it's the 101st anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey. While I expect the fans to be enthusiastic, I'm predicting a Barcelona victory since Larkin will not play for Anadolu Efes due to injury.

Cool man, hope you will have fun! Seeing a top team like Barca live must be a lot of fun! I mean, watching basketball live in great in general, the atmosphere can often be electric! Wish our local league here would be a bit like this. While in Europe you often see shirtless men jumping and singing at games in here it's a whole different world. I would say in Japan the main audience is woman and kids actually, definitely more than me. Olympiacos vs Real will also be a nice game I think, unfortunatly now it's winter time in Europe so the time difference went from 7 hours to 8. Meaning that now some games start at 4:30am for me, which really is too late.  Cry

Milan is like dark hole under Messina. Their roster doesn't looks bad on paper, but all their talent disappear somewhere. Once they leave this club, they start to perform again. Now they're down by 20 against Efes at halftime and I'm not surprised about it at all.
Paris a bit unexpected beat Monaco. They're playing way better than I expected. 2 wins in 5 games isn't something special, but all games that they played were close.

Zalgiris Kaunas continues their great performance in the tournament compared to last season. They have 3 wins in 4 games. In the double game week, first they won against Virtus, then they came from behind to win a historic victory against Milano. Giedraitis, who tied his career high with 15 points in the previous game, scored a career high 21 points. Francisco is having a good season. Zalgiris Kaunas will play Maccabi at home in their classic atmosphere. It's already hard to beat them in this atmosphere. They will also come with a great morale. Maccabi defeated Anadolu Efes in the first game of last week and lost to Partizan in the last minute. In both games they were not in good shape defensively. Zalgiris Kaunas can take advantage of that.
After unbeleavable comeback against Milan last week, team is looking capable to beat anyone. Today they were leading for whole 40 minutes. With such performances they're serious contender for playoff spot.

Yeah Zalgiris really looks solid at the moment. Especially in the first quarter they really destroyed Maccabi and the game was basically over after 10 minutes already. Sure the game before taught us that you can never be sure but the Israel side just looked terrible in this game.
Milan on the other hand also had another bad game, especially in the first quarter and even though they cut it close for a bit in the 3rd in the end lost on their home court pretty convincingly, wonder what's going in there.

By the way, yesterday I followed the CBA (Chinese league) for a bit and if there wasn't for 2 close favorite wins this would have been the biggest upset day I have ever seen. Just look at this:

If Shandong doesn't reach overtime and win and Jingsu didn't lose by 2 the combined odds for this would have been a whopping 27594x, for just betting 6 games. That's actually insane and show how crazy this sport can be sometimes.

Especially the Euroleague team's roster might change significantly in the next weeks since plenty of WNBA talent will make the regular jump over to Europe to finally earn some money. So funny that the self proclaimed "best league in the world" pays less than some European teams.  Tongue

Yeah, it's complete opposite than we have in NBA or even NCAA when it comes to money. In WNBA money isn't huge and season is short, though, with talents from last year draft this league is getting more interest.

Tomorrow, Fenerbahçe will play one of the most important games of the season in the EuroLeague. We will host the defending champion, Panathinaikos, in Istanbul. The significance of the game is the long-standing tension between Fenerbahçe and Ergin Ataman, the coach of Panathinaikos and the Turkish National Team. After the recent incidents, Fenerbahçe announced that they would not send any players to the Turkish national team. Because of this tension, I expect a low-scoring game tomorrow.

Aside from Euroleague there is a lot of interesting games in Europe as well. Eurocup for example is also stacked with nice teams. Also following the Champions league and Europe cup since in these you can basically always expect major upsets almost every week, which of course is quite nice especially for betting people.
This week up there were not so many surprises though. Today aside from the regular Euroleague there is also Euroleague woman and Eurocup woman which I frequently follow. Especially the Euroleague team's roster might change significantly in the next weeks since plenty of WNBA talent will make the regular jump over to Europe to finally earn some money. So funny that the self proclaimed "best league in the world" pays less than some European teams.  Tongue

WTF Euroleague, this is how I saw last seconds of Crvena Zvezda - Barcelona. And I can't trust in Flashscore app as they showed that game is over after 4th quarter with Zvezda win. At least I was able to watch OT. Great game, though IMO referees didn't worked very well. So, we already don't have undefeated teams in Euroleague.

Got so much joy watch Efes - Olympiacos, especially when you see Fournier playing like in his best times. Both teams deserved to win, but in last minutes there was quite many bad decisions and mistakes from both sides. But Efes were a bit more accurate in decisive moments.

Not the first time flashscore displays game wrong or end games prematurely. Had that so often over the years. And it never ended well for me, just thought my team won and then suddenly they lost. But it never happened the other way around, haha. That are the worst things that can happen to a fan or a bettor, you think you won and seconds later get punched in the gut.

I was quite sure Zvezda would win this one and I was surprised the odds for this one have been even. Until now they showed some great games and obviously they played at Belgrade Arena as well, which is an intimidating arena for visiting teams. But well, the first loss had to come at some point I guess. I am surprised that the 2 Greek teams are only 2:2 until now. After all the big additions they made, especially Panathinaikos, you would expect a better start. Maybe they are still rusty.

I also enjoyed watching this game a lot. But I was really nervous to be honest for a long time. Because Anadolu Efes started really poorly to the match and it took them so long to get ahead. They somehow managed to win by a slight gap but their defense is really alarming which is the truth. Sad Fournier was really like a machine and they weren't able to stop him. I hope this doesn't become a bigger problem for Anadolu Efes in the long term.
