Today I went to Anadolu Efes' new stadium for the first time to watch their match against Crvena zvezda. It was really competitive until the end of Q3. However there was a mega performance by Anadolu Efes in the last quarter. The score was like 30-10. Grin Oturu and Bryant made a big contribution. Oturu has improved his scoring even when it comes to free-throws this season. His contribution is really valuable and I hope to see more of it.

That's cool! The seats also look nice, not too far away from the court. I remember when you went to the old arena the tickets were super cheap (compared to other places I have watched games at).
I wonder how much that one was. Obviously it's awesome to also see your team win when you go there for the first time. After the first quarter it really didn't look like it but thankfully they cam back and rallied for the easy win. Must have been a great time I suppose!

Fenerbahçe had only suffered a home defeat in both their own league and the Euroleague until last night.

It could probably be because of the crowd pressure.
They could only show their presence in the second period against Barcelona last night.
I hope they recover quickly like in previous years.
Otherwise, a series of consecutive defeats could follow. I think the Paris Basket match to be played tomorrow is very important. We definitely need to get a win from France.

I expected Fenerbahce to react against Barcelona after the Monaco game, but I was wrong. Fenerbahce were exhausted against Barcelona. I think one of Fenerbahce's main problems this year is that they stopped fighting too early in games. Defeat is a normal result and any team can lose. It can even happen in all ten games, but that's not the problem. It's like Fenerbahce have stopped fighting. No matter what happens, Fenerbahce cannot and must never stop being a fighting team. Offense, powered by defense, is Fenerbahce's only weapon. But without hard play, without defense, there will be a high scoring difference every game. Another problem is the terrible roster engineering. Fenerbahce is so busy trying to cover its own deficiencies that it has no energy to beat its opponent.

It's nice to see that Asvel is competetive team this season. Yesterday they beat Partizan in Belgrade, before they won against teams like Real, Paris. I don't believe that they will fight for playoffs, but they're capable to beat anyone.
But life probably is too short to see Alba being competetive in Euroleague...

Damn, 2 games in a row lost by almost 30 points. Yeah Fenerbahche is struggling with injuries, but it's not excuse to lose few games in such way. Paris meanwhile got 2 losses in a row and slowly returns to reality, I think it's good time to face them.

Last night I watched FIBA champions league though when German side Bonn totally got destroyed by Aris from Greece. I had a little wager on Aris winning the 3rd quarter (after leading with 50:19 at halftime). Of course the 3rd was suddenly much better from Bonn and I needed a miracle to win it. And I got it, down 3 points with 10sec to go in the quarter  Aris made a 3 + foul and they completed the 4 point play. Only a 3 and I would still have lost because a tie would be a loser as well. Nice to finally have a comeback for me, it's been a while.

Mate, you probably watched AEK, not Aris. Aris is playing in Eurocup, as I watched their game with Lietkabelis yesterday

Asvel won away in Belgrade and that is their first away win this season against my team and just not happy with this. Asvel won due to a great amount of offensive rebounds and some pretty big mistake by Partizan players. Fenerbahce dosent look good now, they keep losing by a big amount of points and i think this bad form will continue for them.

Bro, they played on Barcelona though, there was no home defeat, haha.
I was surprised though it was such an easy match for Barca since they previously had some problems winning games. In the EL they lost 5 of 6 games before destroying Fenerbahce yesterday, so that was a big statement win! I guess Fener still missing some players is coming into play here, they also lost like 4 of 5 games in the Euroleague now.

This week strange things happening in Istanbul. Yesterday Fenerbahche were destroyed by Monaco today Efes left no chance to Panathinaikos and Larkin return marked with win by almost 30 points. What had to best games of week turned into sided action.
Difficult to explain what happened to Barca in 3rd quarter. They let Milano to score 36 points while scoring only 17 themselves. That was key moment in game.
And who could have thought that Paris 10 wins in a row series wll end in game with ASVEL. But maybe it's not most uncommon thing that such series ends against underdog, not powerhouse, as maybe you not go into game 100% focused. Asvel deserved this win, as they were leading most part of game.

I can only agree, what went down in the Euroleague this week was very surprising. 5 wins for away teams, out of 9 games, is also not normal.
But hey, at least it's unpredictable and that's what makes the league and this sport exciting. Would be boring if we knew who was about to win all them, wouldn't it.
Looking at the standing it's also another proof that this season basically everything is possible. The top 4 are 1st.Paris and then Bayern, Monaco and Fenerbahce with the same w/l ration. If this would be at the beginning of the season ok, but we are down 15 games already, almost half the season.

Fenerbahce Beko has been doing well in the Euroleague, hiding its problems, but the Monaco game was a game for Fenerbahce to face its problems. The team has lost its energy and fighting spirit. Jasikevicius poor communication with the team is getting worse every day. He was sulking on the sidelines and scolding everyone during the whole game. There is a cold wind blowing between the fans and the management.

The hatred against president Ali Koc is growing among the fans. Because every year he has insisted on making the squad worse and worse. One of the biggest mistakes made by this management is the wrong squad engineering. This has destroyed the team's chemistry. At the end of the day, Fenerbahce Beko suffered a humiliating defeat at home. It will be very difficult for this team to recover mentally and physically in the upcoming games.

Wow, Fenerbahche got destroyed by Monaco at home by 30 points. Ok, Fenerbahche have problems with injuries, but it's not excuse to lose in such way. Atmosphere in arena in 4th quarter looked like at funreal.
Carlik Jones delivered against Alba by scoring buzzer beater in the end and it's already 5th win in a row for Partizan.
Zalgiris controlling game in Madrid. And now matter how it will end, but now Real already struggle at home, not just away. I don't believe that they will make to the playoffs.

This Fenerbahce game really was unexpected and disappointing. AT halftime, when they were down 5, I put plenty of free bets I had on them, at 1.9 odds. And basically after 3-4 minutes into the 3rd quarter this was already a loss since they manage to dig the hole very deep being down by as many as 15-18 points. At the point I gave up and didn't continue watching the game since it was just frustrating. Losing the 2nd half by 25 points, playing at home, really was a huge upset. Even injuries are no excuse for such a performance.

Olympiacos - Paris game was just insane. Who could have thought that Paris will have 20 points lead against Olympiacos. And then I can't find words to describe Olympiacos comeback - 22:0 run in 3.5 minutes and from being down by 20 to leading game by 2 points, they locked down Paris completely. But then Paris somehow managed to wake up from knockdown and won game.
Paris is getting out of control - 10 wins in a row for Euroleague newcomers is something insane. I'm already out of words

However I wish he didn't go for that last 3-pointer. Because he acted like he wasn't going to take the shot and tricked his opponent.
Yeah, it wasn't nice moment, but seems that Hayes just didn't gave any f*cks about it - he just don't care what other will think about him Cheesy.

Pure insanity! Yet another case of a team coming back from a huge deficit, taking the lead but somehow still managing to lose after having all the momentum in the world. Sometimes basketball just feels so scripted, it's like in a movie or something.  Grin

As I have said before, Paris is here to stay. They prove it almost every week right now.

Partizan is hottest team in Euroleague after Paris now. 4 wins in a row and now beating champions Panathinaikos byv20 points is impressive.
@CLS63 congrats with Fenerbahche win. After poor game with Baskonia, there can't be better return than beating Real in Madrid Smiley. While Real - I can't remember season when they struggled so much.
We critisized Messina a lot in begging of season, but now he silenced his critics. Olimpia is playing solid basketball recently, yesterday win against Crvena Zvezda was very confident.

Good old Dusko Ivanovic returns to Euroleague. And surprise surprise, this time not to Baskonia but Virtus:

Banchi after loss to Alba wasn't sacked, but decided to resign. Wise decision from him.

I was in the Begrade arena it was so insane . What a teamplay by Partizan and how my team won is incredible against the raining champion. I think everyone has to come and see this atmosfere its insane. Its worth every dollar but we are the hottest team now and i dont see anyone stopping us in the next couple of rounds.

You have actually been there?? Awesome, I envy you so much! I watched a highlight video and the atmosphere was electric. To be honest, I didn't expect such a dominating win. The odds pregame were pretty much 50/50, so there was no no real favorite to win this one. They controlled pretty much every aspect of the game from rebounding to shooting % and so on.

Well what you see on the screen is different in the arena it is just 10 times much louder and better. We came to the arena and it was just electric. The odds were even before the game but after second half start it all just shifted away into Partizan side that just dominated with their defence and honestly it could have been more then 20+ points for Partizan.

After losing 2 matches in a row we needed to win against Real Madrid away. And I'm very happy that we managed to do this. We are very lucky to have Nigel Hayes-Davis. Smiley He played great tonight as well and he managed to score exactly 33 points. However I wish he didn't go for that last 3-pointer. I wish we were stronger at defending against Baskonia last night. But we were terrible especially in the first half. Sad We couldn't make up for that with our offense either. Baskonia were a dangerous team at home. Anyway as long as we maintain our presence in top 6 there is no problem. We just need to be careful with this 2-match losing streak. By the way it was nice to see Anadolu Efes defeating Bayern Munich home for their top 6 goals. Smiley
