Is it generally agreed that Slush has been trustworthy and nothing shady is happening?

Does anyone actually make sure when the pool finds a block, that it actually gets distributed to its workers?

it would be pretty obvious. why would slush even need to do that since he is making a killing from us all.

What I've done is sell old ones, not as easy as it sounds, and replace with new efficient ones. The new s3's are really great to upgrade rigs with(450ghs/370watt). I'm in the same boat as you now with the electricity avalible so I depend on having my new miners hosted unless they come out with more efficient miners. I have also under volt/under clocked some to help me add more but those miners had already made their share so I could justify bringing them down.

^ I've had to add 250ghs per mining rig to keep my payout the same at this score based pool. It now takes 2.5th to get 0.01 payout per BLOCK on slushes pool. I was running 4.5th(2.25th per rig) here to get 0.02 per BLOCK, now I've bumped it up to 5th to keep my total payout per BLOCK the same. The other pool I mine on has pplns payout so I keep my DAILY payout at 0.02. Ive had to add about the same ratio in ghs to keep a 0.02 payout per DAY at BTCguild. It now takes 1.25th there to get the 0.02 per DAY payout. It was only taking 1.1th before. Keeping my payouts at a certain amount by adding ghs(most of the time small, sometimes large) has worked very well for me. I also have some hosted miners, but I use a slightly different strategy with those.

Even if I wanted to keep adding miners I really couldn't unless I have an electrician put in a couple more circuits...$$$...not going to happen. I have miners in my garage, office, bonus room and crawlspace. The Mrs. would not stand for miners in the bedroom ;-)

Note: Of course as the pool hoppers come and go(even though they loose profits by hopping), those payouts do fluctuate a small bit.

Interested how real life block rewards have changed recently for other Slush miners.

With hash power at Slush at record highs and the new difficulty, how has your avg. block reward changed...?

Interested in medium size miners 1-10THs. Mine went from about 0.14 to 0.12 in the last 2 weeks or so w/~3THs...

Man, diff. is rising too fast! SLOW down with the miner purchases, hahaha

If everyone continues to add hash power...the difficulty will increases will only be that much sooner and possibly greater percentage increase.

you just figuring this out now?

My life gets chaotic way too often Sad and I think hosting would be best for my miners for more up time.

Huh Bad wires in new place? We gotta get u back hashing. Have you talked with Matt @ MS about hosting? I've got a guy hosting a few of my miners not far from you, I'll see if he's got any room left. I think he's charging me $0.18 kWh, super cheap really.

I wouldn't even mind paying those rates for more up time, ha!

Sadly I must find a place for hosting my gear near Portland and I have nothing hashing since last night.

Haven't done business with him but this guy is hosting SP30's and others for folks and is that area, rates looked pretty good.

Being the IT admin, i have access to a climate controlled room and unlimited power. If anyone happens to be in the server room and sees my miners, they assume it is networking/server equipment.

I run 6 ant s1's.

I started mining in March. I am still new.

I am nobody's judge, but here a reality check. What you are doing is no different or better than taking home reams of printer paper = theft. Do you like your job?

I do the same thing as my company pays very little for power and we have solar also.  My boss approves me using it and he is even wanting to get in on the mining action.

Mine has had similar comments. He asks me about BTC and mining at least once a week. I am trying to convince him to pick a few up for our other location.

I have approval from my boss, the CIO. I would not do such a thing without approval. Risk a great paying job to run unauthorized bitcoin miners?? Silly.

I'm lucky. I'm in an apartment with a fixed rate for utilities so my 17GH don't cost me a thing..!  Grin

Even in places where utilities are included (like dorms) they do monitor usage and in the fine print it says they can charge you if you use more than whatever they consider normal use. Better read your contract again. Of course, 17GH is nothing so not a biggie...

^ If you could only bottle that first time feeling of mining!!!! Welcome to the Bitcoin Revolution!!!!

Until you realize you are spending more in electricity than you are earning with mining and that bottle shatters.  Sad
