I don't mind the bad luck, as it suggests a lucky strike is imminent - it has to even out some how Grin

Plus it scares off some of the pool jumpers for a bit so when we hit that triple set of blocks in short succession, we all get a bit bigger payout... But thats just me being selfish... Grin

Most importantly the webpage should be updated, since slush is advertising this pool with merged mining which is not true anymore

Key features

But, what looks a bit strange to me, that you care about the reward, when the pool is down. I'd care more why it was down, what happened, and when it would be back again... Well, it's on everyones' nature...

Every mining app ive used has a readme or some documentation that lays out the switches\flags available to use with the app.

You can buy BTC with plain old dollars, then you can buy anywhere that asks for BTC. In theory a person can meet up with you to sell the BTC in person even and take cash. The main problem with ASIC BTC miner is the waiting time, its a theoretical product because by the time they deliver it could be pointless (probably not but nobody can tell when it'll arrive and we don't know the BTC price a year from now)

Stick with what you got, at least a gpu can be used for other things. Once you have some experience then decide on big bucks.
If BTC price rises enough then even awfully high difficulty and terrible luck on the pool wont stop GPU being worth it and vice versa of course -
I agree in general the trend is away from amateur operations if/when BTC matures further
