Are payouts and email broken for anyone else? My reward has almost doubled my threshold but hasn't been sent and I have been trying to change my payment address but never get the verification email.
I got a payout yesterday at 19:00 UTC but it took a little longer than usual. I did NOT get an email notification. Kind of an obvious question but, did you check the payout history?

Checked you junk mail folder?

Yeah and I had the email re-sent several times. Is your payout working ok?
There was a database bug yesterday, Slush probably disabled automatic payments temporarily to ensure everything is OK.

Maybe yeah - I don't know whether my payout is working as I have it set to 1 bitcoin and I'm only half way there...

Recent luck attracts more users? 12 GH/s now

Slush went up from 8% of total network hashrate to 10%

In ideal conditions more = better

But will it blend? (server loads)
Luck makes pool look bigger also... Speed is estimated. Pool doesn't ask users what is there speed. It estimate it based on shares. Same goes for network share. If pool is lucky it will get bigger...

interesting, but now 12.x Gh/s and 97% luck..  Maybe more pool user understand how great the Slush's pool is Smiley

I believe that block 18373 is a compensation for the missed block mentioned earlier.
But inserting a fake two second block in the statistics makes the overall pool luck value increase for the following period of time... :-)

No it is not, because i have no shares for that round, while i have for the round before and also had for the missing block (both before and after i.e. no downtime)

I'm noticing a significant fluctuation in shorter blocks. On the order of ~30% smaller rewards only on shorter blocks, but not all of them. I don't know if these are miscalculations or if people are getting lucky with some sort of pool hopping guesswork

This would be normal if your hash rate is rather low (less than 100-200MH/s). At about 1GH the variation for me is usually less than 10% (short or bonus).

In essence - it has to do with the way this pool pays rewards - the reward is based on the score, and score decreases exponentially with older shares. If you manage to submit shares in the last second when the block is found - your score will be the highest (for those shares) and you may get extra few %, and vice versa - if your last share is over a minute older when the block is found - that share would bring you a lower %.
I understand how the pool calculates rewards, but since I'm hashing along at ~ 700MH/s, I would assume there'd be a smaller variance than 30% over the course of 45 min to 2 hours. the 4 hour blocks match up with the average of 1-2 hour blocks, excluding these outliers but if others aren't seeing them, it must be something on my end

Poor impulse control.
...but most of the miners are sending their hashrate anyway, then the problem is that the value can not be trusted so the pool should either confirm the value or ignore it completely with the second being easier.
Thanks, didn't know that...

regardless. if you say the hashrate going from 10543.740 Ghash/s 2 weeks ago to 11543.740 Ghash/s is because of luck then you are declaring ALL miners are having increased luck which is not how probability works. Cluster performance looks like it is showing the actual hashrate to the assumed hashrate.  for example 2 of my 6 miners are presently lower than their normal hashrate, one is well above and the last 3 are dead on.
Now the pool is hitting 12543.740 Ghash/s a week after it when up 1000 gh/s it has gone up another 1000 gh/s. the only answer has to be that 1000 gh/s of miners joined Slush 2 weeks ago and 1000 gh/s of miners joined this week.
All I know is every 1000 gh/s increase negates one of my miners grrr... I just added 2 to make up for the 1000 from 2 weeks ago!
I'm saying that if you see change(you are missing one post in quotes that was removed) for just 1 hours it is not necessary pool hoppers(as suggested). It could be luck. If the change is long then it is a real change...

Nah, not true. If all shares were D1 shares, you'd expect luck based variance of about +/- 0.5% over a minute at 10 Thps. Even if the average share difficulty was 32 (very unlikely) the luck based variance over one minute would be ~ +/- 3%. Edit: with 95% confidence.

Someone just got the exact same work as someone else, and they got it solved 2 secs apart from eachother.
Not the same work, but a work that also resulted in a solution - the hashes are different:
The long one is 00000000000000687dc957f3ba6685aeb8f73dee7a48020caccc015115494fc8
and the 2sec one is 000000000000013590c203af0e0aac04c4cd10f1baaf98d44dcb0d67a9933b09
Well, they were solved at different time, so obviously timestamp differ. transaction and block number are the same.

Never seen that happen before. Oh, 2 second blocks are possible but pool has to be very luck for that to happen.

Maybe that's the fix for the block we didn't get before.

I doubt that as 2 secs is way too short to be fair.
