  • Borrowing money to gamble.
This is a worst sign of being addicted to gambling, though some might think this is still ok since they are just borrowing small money to someone, they didn't realize that slowly they are getting more attached to gambling and on their way to addiction. Gambling should not take seriously as if its a good source of income, remember its very risky and chances of winning is very low to zero at all. Don't borrow money if you don't want to be broke, just gamble if you can financially.
Borrowing money is one of the worst sign but there are other worst sign to gambling. Someone may have property to sell which is another worst sign of gambling. I mean someone that have used all the money he has to gambling and lay hand on his properties and start to sell it until he lost all to gambling. Some gamblers are addicts and have gone worst to such extent. The money they see, they use it to gamble, what they have, they sell it to gamble and they can go to the extent of borrowing to gamble which is very wrong because borrowing itself will let them make wrong decision while gambling and the end is loss. If they lost the money, where is the gambler going to see the money to pay back the money borrowed.

Give all before death
  • Preoccupation with gambling.
  • The urge to increase wagers to achieve the same level of excitement.
  • Having difficulty in controlling, cutting back, or stopping gambling despite several attempts.
  • Lying about gambling activities.
  • Borrowing money to gamble.

As gambling addiction can be a challenging issue that can have a very harmful impact on an individual's life. it is always recommended to find a professional helpb rather struggling with it. Do you agree with those behaviours? If not then you can suggest some, that can be added to this topic.
I have seen many people making gambling their full-time job. They are always in the casino each time they have a free period and sometimes they use their work time for gambling. I also agree with your point that most gambling addict always hid their gambling life from their relatives which is why they always lie to cover their uncontrollable gambling lifestyle.

I want to add that one of the symptoms of gambling addiction is low productivity in the workplace. Most of them are preoccupied with gambling that they will begin to lose concentration in their workplace. Some might even dump their work tasks because they want to stake games. Another symptom is the urge to always chase losses. Any gambler that always chases losses is showing a symptom of gambling disorder. Gambling addicts hardly accept their losses and walk away. They will always keep betting to cover their losses.

     -   I think and believe that a problem gambler can be helped by a professional gambler. Of course, the problem gambler will go to gambling to temporarily forget or escape the problem he is facing, so that what he feels might be replaced by excitement through gambling.

Now, if he meets a professional gambler, he can give him reminders and gambling ideas through the skills needed for gambling. Unlike the social gambler who is all about having fun and not thinking about getting money from gambling.

I agree, there's  the adrenaline rush that we can get once we continue to play and when we win there's this kind of feeling that we cannot stop. I felt that as well even now there will some time that I continue to play after I already withdraw my winning because I can't stop the feeling but I am still trying to stop this because I know in the long run it will not be a good thing for me.
Adrenaline is what makes gamblers feel constantly challenged and play until they get pleasure, it's the feeling of pleasure when we win that makes us sometimes feel like we want to keep playing and get more wins, it's human nature that's difficult for us to avoid, a kind of greed because basically it's hard avoid that trait.

If we can control ourselves from being greedy, of course we will not fall deeper into continuing to play and gamble until the money runs out, for example I play just for fun and don't focus on getting lots of money at the casino, so I can control myself more and know when to stop playing.

Just simple, you can't handle "deposit". That's one indication you are addicted, for example like you already winning and withdraw the money after that in the next 5-10/30 mins you are deposited again.

Deposit over and over again until your money is out, are indicated addicted.
True. Once you can’t discipline yourself and cannot even manage to control your finances, that simply shows addiction. Even if you win some significant amount, that will be useless since you won’t stop gambling unless all your money has been used up. So if you are already experiencing like that, stop gambling immediately. Otherwise, you may end up homeless if you resort into selling your properties just because you can’t control your urge in gambling.
If he cannot stop making deposits after withdrawing the money, that is indeed an indication of addiction, and that is when the gambling addiction has started. We often see this or even we have experienced it before. But supposedly, before he withdraws his money, he can think of leaving a few dollars in his balance so he doesn't have to deposit another few dollars to continue gambling.

If he keeps depositing after withdrawing his winnings, he can do it again when he loses, which means he can lose all the winnings he has withdrawn. That's not a great way to enjoy gambling but a proper way to become addicted to gambling and will eventually become addicted to gambling.

Yes, that is true, those who are addicted to gambling every hour, minute or even second want to continue playing. And I agree that they will continue to make repeated deposits after they have withdrawn the winnings. Usually they will think they still have money from winning so they will continue to make deposits. Precisely this is the wrong thing, they forget how much money they spent before they won the bet. It's just that they don't realize it because addiction has taken over their minds and even has taken over them.

It is true that addiction makes everything more upset, people who are addicted to gambling will damage him with his environment, bad things he will definitely try if he does not find gambling on his daily journey, I think the most scary thing from gambling addiction is that.
I agree with the points you mentioned, and it is true that we already feel addicted, we should call professional people in handling addiction, it is better than fighting in its own way, from most people I meet in gambling addiction that healing is done by myself themselves, they failed and even if they succeeded, they needed a very long time to return to the beginning.

I believe that this generalized how addiction affects people; other behavior are unique to people. I've seen the 5 facts you mentioned, but at the same time, I've seen gamblers who are addicted hate people around them because people he was losing and couldn't help socialize with others, he also has this character of not having an appetite to eat, always thinking how to make more money to balance his losses and when he tried again, he always lost the money and every time becomes bitter, unhappy with himself and people who come close to him. I've also witnessed people lose their sense of logic as a result of addiction-related losses.
Generally, we can see that person had changed - in behavior, decision-making, relationships with the family, and time spent. Because in their mind, it is all about gambling and nothing would gain their interest is to talk also about gambling. And when it comes financial, they could be a liar.
We couldn't think of a better future for these gambling addicts, they'll not just lose their opportunity to enjoy their lives but they separated themselves from other groups of people who are stress-free and happy.

The phenomenon you mentioned is the adverse effects of gambling addiction that occur. That's not even the only effect, there are many other negative things that will happen. Increasingly ostracized from their environment because addicts have unstable emotions, get angry easily and will always be alone. They also try to get money to be able to do gambling, by committing crimes or selling anything that can be sold. and other bad effects can turn to drug use for the purpose of calming themselves and some are even desperate to commit suicide when there is no way out at all for the conditions they face.

As much as all these counts, there is one funny one that just bumped up my mind and that is;
Always believing that you would always win. Despite each lose, you believe your certainly going to win the next round.

This is the push that drives most gamblers to keep up taking bets after bets without a limit to it. There should be a point where you call it a day and stop for the time being. Probably after you've exhausted your set aside gambling fund or spare cash for that purpose. There have to be some control over your gambling behaviour. It's the one way to making sure you can always return back to gamble again without much regrets.
In as much as I want to tell you that you are wrong on this, I can't because thats just the bitter truth about everything about gambling and addiction in the first place. In a short glance at this taught, it will be agreed that no gambling would ever go into gambling with a purpose of wanting to lose or having it in mind that losing is actually a possibility but no one ever has such mentality instead its just keep trying you will get the next game right which obviously doesn't stop till the gambler is completely drained out of cash.

When anyone find themselves in such situations then it high time you start looking for help with your habits because it has gotten to another stage where you are no longer in control.

We always say that gambling can lead to addiction and be dangerous for those who experience it, but the question is of the many people who are involved in gambling, what percentage do they end up in addiction? I think there are not as many of them as those who can still control themselves so that their gambling can go on without destroying their normal life.

not all of those points I agree "The urge to increase wagers to achieve the same level of excitement" does not mean he is addicted as long as he is still using his limited funds and that is the amount he can afford to lose then it's still fine, and when someone hides his gambling activity could be due to the culture in his family which does not regard gambling as a normal thing, so he feels the need to hide it, as well as borrowing money, as long as he is still able to return it then it is fine unless borrowed beyond his capacity to return the money .

The difference between a gambling addict and a professional is likely the difference between having a winning night or a losing night. Lol. In reality, I think gambling addiction just boils down to greed. People feel like they deserve to win a ton of money and think casinos are the way for them to get what they deserve. Unfortunately, it just doesn’t work like that.
J agree with this but some people do not know and do jot what to understand that making money from gambling is the reason most addicts are addicted to gambling. And to solve the issue is when you make the person realize that gambling is kit a way of making money, it is the other way around. Some people will not stop until they have lost a lot of money. Some people will even lost trust from people around them because gambling losses can turn someone to a liar and someone not trustworthy.

Another important factor to consider is to check if you're always broke after gambling, it's not a good habit to be engaged i begging around for a living after which you have spent the little you have on gambling, some will even use the money meant for them to feed and gamble with it, some go extra length in taking loans to gambles, all these are what we must look into and adjust before people it get weird on us that people begin to suggest quit for us.

you're a junkie at that point.

Yeah, worst is that you might be taking a loan or have to take steps to produce money when you don't have it in your hand just to continue with your gambling. I remember that there was a thread here wherein the someone sold his property that he inherited from this father or a individual kidnapping his own grand kid for ransom just to continue with his gambling addictions.

So there are still a lot of behaviors that we might not yet learn from the minds of a gambling addict. And they will do everything they think is "right" or order to fuel their gambling activity. For them it is justified and logical, but for most of us, it's the emotions of a addict that is taking over them.

Borrowing money to gamble is one of the crazy evidence that a gambler is already soak in gambling addiction. This can get worse mostly when the person do have consistent loses which can make them to look for other sources of borrowing money to bet with the promise that they are going to pay back with interest.

This condition will become complex when the gambler keep borrowing funds and is not paying his debt. Addiction is something that need a serious conversation and help with the victim so that the problem can be tackled at the appropriate time.
But that's the reality because many people still borrow money to gamble, especially those who are used to gambling. When they have no money, they will borrow it from others and gamble; if they win, they will return it. But sadly, it is not always what they imagine because they often come home defeated and lose all their money, which frustrates them.

Maybe we often hear stories of someone having to pay off his debt by selling the items in his house and it really happened. This is where the danger is if we are too deep into gambling because it can make us unable to leave gambling and will even borrow money.
