I think the payment cron is borked again - I've gone two hours above .25 without a payment occurring.

Poor impulse control.
Eh, a little variance doesn't bother me. Difficulty 32 shares on 450MH/s, oh yeah. The paying for stales is what sold me.

Also, I suggest you change the pool title to actually reflect the pool so it is more attractive.

Something like:
[35 GH/s] HHTT: PPS & Variable Difficulty Shares (1 to 65536)/No Stales/No Signup Required

Please - sure as hell makes the "Mining pools list" easier to update!

Just curious... how many blocks has the pool found vs. how much has it paid out to date?

I like this pool but I'm scratching my head trying to figure out how it can keep up with such a low hash rate.

Stales are now being paid for.  All past stales are also being paid (although at the current network difficulty).

Great! Smiley

Yes, I was specifically thinking of ABCPool and 50BTC in my "pay for stales" comment earlier.  I didn't want to come in here and be seen as promoting those so I didn't name them...

Did some more 128diff this morning - ran for about 120 minutes - due to some frequent blocks and more frequent LP ended with 6 stales which took my reject to almost 3%.  Thinking 64diff is about the maximum unless stales are paid for - then would stay at 128 or might try 256...

And on that point of invalid work, almost all of what all miners do is invalid.
Yes but there's work that can never be useful. For example a miner that ignores longpoll's. They'll have higher stales and be submitting work that can never result in a valid block more often than someone who handles longpolls. But they get the same reward as the latter so why bother dealing with longpolls.

With most PPS pools paying for stales I was surprised this pool is not - hence the post...
What PPS pools pay for stales? That sounds like a great way for a pool to bankrupt itself paying out for work that isn't valid.

ABCPool, 50BTC, Bitclockers (I think)

Paying for stales makes sense in my opinion, at least up to some percent. A bad miner might have 2+% stales, a good miner will have 0.1-1%.

I am open to the idea of paying for stales if other pools do.  And on that point of invalid work, almost all of what all miners do is invalid.  Only the work that makes an actual accepted block is actually valid.  You are paying miners for making a good effort, so if you think a stale (within reason) is a good effort then it makes sense to pay for it.

Hmm - I really liked the "roll your own" diff based on hashpower.

As I mentioned and the math geeks have told us, 32diff is a bit extreme for most anything but a MiniRig (i.e., no GPUs)?!?

No, is fine for a 833M/Hash BFL Single.
Payments over 4 days pretty constant.

Tried to subscribe to:
arn:aws:sns:us-west-2:615289640696:hhtt-block
but get "Topic does not exist" error. Did you set the topic to be Public on AWS?

Yeah, permissions should be set correctly.  Note it is in us-west-2 so you have to use the Oregon region.  If you try it from us-east-1 (default) you are likely to get that not found error.

Thanks that worked.

Is the ability to send emails to miners to tell them when they have not produced a share for x mins on your list? This is the one critical function that is missing.

Interesting... I'm going to try this out once I get my MMQ FPGA, let it and my GPUs chew away at 32 diff.

Going to try 128 diff for a bit on the MR - see what happens...

EDIT
128 is too much for the MR units (~1.3 Gh each)....

E stays very low (sub 100) withe these high diff shares but the WU remains >350 (GOOD).

Already seeing the 1.125% fee in place for the 128diff  Grin

Oh man I can't mine here anymore with those fees. Difficulty 4 is hard enough for my GPUs as it is, that's what I'm mining at.

Well, unless Rex gets MtRed back together and stable, I think I'll be back mining bitparking or abcpool Sad

That is fair.  I am really not in a position to compete on low difficulty work and my target audience is higher hash rate (or variance tolerant) miners.

Maybe you'll come back when everyone else is down after the ASICs hit.  In any event, good luck.
