The market will recover so don't sell any coins, wait a year and I believe you'll have you money back.

If such a great sum is lost, one year will be not enough. I doubt that the market can go up so fast. yes, the situation will be better than in 2018 and even than now, but to get profits or at least to cover losses, several years should be spent.
That's enough and if OP was doing a lot of effort especially if he was trying to participate in any IEO and that will be recovered just in a few months or even less. That's the only chance.
This time is much better. Imagine when OP was coming back again and invest 2k in binance IEO and i guess that will be easily turned into 20x just in short time.

last year was not good that was the year of bear market, but now I think it is good to invest the market is recovering, I hope that OP did not sell his tokens, he should keep hold and invest more.
Hold is the way in order not to lose your investment, though we all seen how bad market turned last year and we can't do nothing but to wait till it
bounce back and give some breathing, the market volatility can't be avoided but as long as you have trust and you can wait for some time there's
always chances to regain the value or better to get much higher when bull begins to rise.
2018 showed that holding is not always a good strategy. If you buy every time at the highs, it will be difficult to make a good profit.
First of all, it is psychologically difficult to experience huge falls. Then, with each big dump, many assets will die. This means that the investor loses part of the money irrevocably. Profitable assets may not always compensate for losses from dead assets.
I think the best strategy is a cross between trade and investment. That is, sometimes you need to sell-buy your assets in the case of local pumps; turn your assets into a stable coin when the dump bitcoin and ethereum.

I don't think you have to do that much. You haven't taken the loss unless you dump your coins right now. Just wait for the next bull run and you should be able to recover your funds and have some profit. It's fine, and it's normal that that happens. Just follow the rule that you should buy at low and sell at high.

Don't panic, and look at the price history of your coins. Hopefully you have good coins, and at least some BTC in there.
If you buy at a peak then it is quite disheartening as you watch the price drop, but then when you look back at other peaks you see they were eventually followed by even bigger peaks. So don't lose faith, for good coins the road continues to lead upwards... it's just that there are plenty of bumps along the way.

Folks, what a terrible year 2018 has been so far. I invested around 60K and now left with 5K. I did terrible mistakes and I hope there would be a turnaround sometime next year or so. Any suggestions?
You can still change your fate and your money in 2019 and 2020. I know you are quite panicked and feel scared when you continue to invest. But don't worry, the crypto market is now considered a gold mine at the moment. You should sell all altcoins without potential and invest in ETH. I believe that by the end of 2019, its price will increase to $ 350 soon.

If this is true, then I hope that you have not sold coins and $ 5000 is not the amount with which you left the market. No matter what your coins are worth, one day they can easily return their high price

Couple of rules one should always have is that never chase the looses if incured. Because you can never focus ahead if you keep on looking past. One should learn from the mistakes and never repeat as this experience will count for the future.  Try to build again a good portfolio with little amount if one can accumulate and start over again.

Every year is predicted to be a good year, but reality differs. None expected such a massive growth by 2017, but things happened and following the same there is a big hope on 2018. Everything went completely away from the expectation and that's the cause for massive losses. $55k is something very big and to get back the loss only possibility is to hold. If the investment is made over cryptocurrencies that doesn't have bigger market then the posso gets shrunk.
OP should have set a stop loss on his trade wherein he will sell his holdings once the asset goes down that value.  If he believe on his holdings, he should have bought on the bottom to average his losses and can get out of the trade with minimum losses or minimum interest once the price goes half of the price of the asset when he first invested.

in what currency? usd? i think thats a big money. i suggest that before entering into investments make sure that you have tested the waters and even in less volatile markets than crypto. i hope that you will regain your losses once the bullmarket starts.
that's the risk of trading in this market. like gambling because sometimes investment won't produce anything. learn from experience and you can improve your defeat to victory.

That was a big mistake I guess, but you still have the way to recover it at least by 50% by now. considering with the sudden pump. but if you still mess it up with a wrong coin you bought then its finally for you to leave the room man, or you need to use some money again to recover back what you've lost but remember to be careful this time now.

I doubt that you have that amount of initial investment. Well, saying you have and where did you invest that you lost more or less 80% of your money. Did you even think of cutting your losses when it was only around 5k? If you invested into only one coin or token you should at spread it.

Learned.from mistakes man, but if i were you Maybe you could do trading rather than investing long term, still scalping can help you make profits every trade, remember to make a friend with the trend, and you know 55k loss is too much if you did a cutloss those times Maybe your losses could.be minimized.

If you're still holding, you may have recovered some of your funds from the recent greens. 2018 was indeed a year we saw terrible things.
But what saved a few of us was putting in cash in projects that had teams capable of making the right moves at every turn.
Wish you better investment strategies this time mate!

I've invested 20k and now I am left with 5k, that means I need my portfolio goes 300% to recover the capital invested... but 300% is not an absurd number for crypto market.
In your case you need your portfolio to go more than 1000%, rather tough. I think bitcoin price going to 40k usd should be your hope.
That may be a risk that must be accepted when investing when prices are high, because to get  advantage must increase even higher. It turns out that prices actually go down and losses must be received.
Therefore there is no other way unless the investment is maintained and expects prices to rise as high as possible to return losses that have already been experienced. Or, wait for the lowest possible price and as much investment as possible, then pray the price rises.
