Now as most of people are selling their crypto currencies and the prices are going down. I will suggest you to keep a record on these currencies for some time until you get a right time and then buy them with you 7k dollars

I would suggest investing in Ethereum, Ripple and Ethereum Classic.

Wow, that's a lot of money. You can use it to invest Bitcoin if you do not want complicated and want simple things. If I were you, I would definitely invest into Bitcoin alone because I'm a simple person, hahaha. But if you can do analysis and prediction, and if you can choose Altcoin that can make a lot of profit, you can split your money into various cryptocurrency to invest. If I get that kind of money, maybe I'll invest into some cryptocurrency as a backup plan. But maybe I will also invest into gold and silver, because gold and silver are certain investments.

You probably realized by now, that if you ask for investment advice in bitcointalk, you are mostly just going to get some biased "advice" that doesn't really help.

however, you can take people's suggestions of coins and do your own research on them.

One thing that you really need to consider, is if a coin you think has potential will outperform or eth.

sing almost all alts are bought with btc or eth (sometimes ltc), the only way you will profit is if the percentage gain on your coin outperforms btc or eth's growth rate.
It gets really tricky, because coinmarketcap can be bad indication on a coin's value.
Since it shows it's value in usd, many just assume that is what people are paying for it.
But it is actually what people are buying the coin for in btc, then converting that to usd based on the current price of btc.

That is why you see the price of coins rising when btc rises.
You need to pay attention to how many btc the coin is going for instead of the usd value.

It's pretty hardcore mathematics and economics, so if it gets overwhelming, just put it in btc and eth, you can't go wrong with those.

Good suggestion, those are solid coins who are already in big exchanges, it will have a good pump next year and in one year
time I think we can easily double our money. As long as there is a good volume and the team behind the coin is very hard working, we will always see progress.
