that's right. i have 4 of them all using those settings, all running at 640khs and 70c
Mine is running at 640khs and 64c, thank you but they weren't needed.

Use msi afterburner beta version to undervolt, i believe all the details are posted earlier in this thread
I see only settings for the 7990.

did you try core 1050?  that's the only difference in my settings and i am getting 1.43mhs, but my temps are higher too, 81/73
You're getting 1.43 from this one card?
The temps are okay, mine are usually around 80-84 on both GPU's (2x 7950s).

Yes.  To be fair, this one card is technically 2x 7970 on a single bus, but yes I get over 1.4mhash with my 7990.

My 7950s run at / below 70c, they do 640khash per card and are volted down to 1100... can't remember what clock speeds I am using
I didn't volt mine down. How did you do that?
Which models do you use? Could you provide cgminer configs for comparison?

bfgminer.exe --scrypt --worksize 256 --shaders 2048 --lookup-gap 2 -g 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 --intensity 13 -o stratum+tcp://XXXXXXXXXX.com:5555 -u username -p pass --scan-time 1 --queue 4 --no-submit-stale

You do realize that this temp is too high and will likely cause a hardware failure in the future?

at 27 euro-cents per kwh + going up next year it so much is worth it.
(or not mining at all) ;-)

that means your 7950 setup is working on the "high hasrate" side and not power optimized, right?
what about the 7990? do you feel it is setup at its speed limit, or more for stability, or for saving power?

no, both of my setups are undervolt/overclocked and running about as fast as I could get them to be.  you could run either of these setups slower than I do and save some power, but at that rate you may just want to buy cryptos instead of video cards + electricity

No issues, no changes...

My 7950 setup has 4 cards and pulls around 1100w at the wall for 2.5mhash.  The 7990 box is meant to be a gaming pc that also mines... but I haven't been gaming much on it lol.... maybe when mining doesn't make sense anymore I will catch up on my gaming  Grin ...  it pulls around 600w at the wall for 1.4mhash

I would go with 7950s if it is a dedicated mining only rig, the price difference in cards isn't worth the slightly better hashrates IMO.

any long term issues? upgrades?

what hash and watt (at wall) are you currently running at? I just saw the values that ronaldinho_07 posted earlier (~850W - 1150/1200W)

I am figuring if the 7990 setup will give me better hash/watt than a 7950 setup or any of the new R9 cards.
Any suggestions?

thanks I'm down to 1050 now and it looks stable.

I'm now looking into water cooling but I have no clue what I need to buy.  Huh

I have my eyes on the Swiftech Komodo HD7990

Okay I am sitting pretty at 1.3ish mh/s with these settings:

GPU 0 - 74.0C
GPU 1 - 66.0C
1.29 Mh/s average

MSI Afterburner Settings:
Core Voltage (mV): 1080
Power Limit (%): +0
Core Clock (MHz): 1000
Memory Clock (MHz): 1250
Fan Speed (%): 100

cgminer settings: --thread-concurrency 8192 -I 13 -g 2 -w 256

Also this setup is more stable using the 13.10 drivers.
if core clock were 1080mhz,mem should be 1500
otherwise,trying 1050/1250
