yea, now that it is hashing properly I am downloading the included games and getting ready for that.  if I add a second one it should outperform my 4x 7950 rig and still be nice and contained inside a closed case ...  the only thing I don't like about my 7950 rig is that it has to be open air Grin

adjusted voltage to 1.08, temps are down to 80/73

Anybody working with this card have anything to add?  dare I try 1.05??  Wink

had the same dilemma opted for 7950 still since it seems i get high average hash rate when i use the same card. 7990 though, nice!! would love to try one out for DMC and Saints row.

Both as a gamer and for mining.  I have a open air rig full of 7950s, but I wanted to build a nice gaming rig that could be mining most of the time when I'm not playing.  Since it is a gaming machine it had to be semi nice, be able to stay closed, etc.  My thinking was that since it is 2 cards on one physical slot, it's the only way I can make a 4 card system fit nicely into a case.   Tongue

It was a huge pain in the ass to set up compared to my 7950s but I'm pretty happy with it now.  Just need a second one Grin

did you buy the card as a gamer, maybe for work? or did you buy it for mining?

nevermind  Cheesy

among the solutions out there (customize lots of cfg files in msi, edit registry, use this version, that version, uninstall catalyst so it won't overrride voltage settings with AB, use this script to disable ulps, etc....) was the only one that worked for me after all.

simple as put atipdlxx.dll into the AB folder  Roll Eyes  cgminer still reads it as stock voltage, but it's running cooler and faster, so until I dig up the kill-a-watt I'm gonna assume it worked  Wink

now hashing scrypt and for those having trouble with the 7990 I get avg. 1.325mh/s with core 1050 mem 1675 voltage 1.1 thread conc 24000 i 20 shaders 2048 worksize 256 vectors 1 g 2

has been up and stable for over 30 minutes, so just gonna watch and keep my fingers crossed at this point....  temps are holding steady at low 80s/mid 70s.  would be nice to have them both at 75 but I will take what I can get  Grin

I have a Sapphire 7990 (Tahiti) and I am having some trouble getting it hashing just right.

I have win7/cgminer 3.1.1/ catalyst 13.4

I have searched and read as much as I could find on this card and nothing seems to work for me.  Right now I am hashing at 1.1MH/s scrypt with core 1040 mem 1625 & i=16.  I have it inside an azza solano case with one extra fan for a total of 3x 140mm intake fans covering the front panel, 1x 120mm fan exhaust on rear, 1x 230mm exhaust on top, and one 230mm side window fan that I flipped to exhaust.  I set the top exhaust to low to maintain positive pressure in my case and flipped the window fan around to pull out extra hot air that the card puts out into the case faster, since it is right at the card it pulls a lot more heat out this way.  I have ran it with the case open and have no difference so I think my fan setup is good.

My problem is that the temps are getting much higher than I would like.  I run my miner and temps are up into the low 90's on gpu0 within 15-20 minutes.  GPU1 gets hot too but usually stays in low 80's.  I have seen reports of others with these cards hashing at around 80 and lower.  Also seen higher hashrates posted.  I know undervolting can probably solve the heat issue and maybe let me hash faster, but I can't seem to change the voltage.

I have read what I can find about these and I have already edited my registry to disable ulps (so I can change the voltage) and tried disabling it with trixx and AB with no luck.  Others seem to be having luck just editing the registry but cgminer still shows my card(s) running at 1.2v.  Is there anyone with experience on this card that can tell me how to set my voltage lower and get my temps down?
