A lot of ICO projects are just a hype, so countries are adopting laws to limit ICO. They create problems for good ideas.

This is sad statistics, and it becomes even sadder if you became a victim of a scam project. Then you begin to pour out waves of your indignation on everyone else. And then you ruin the world's reputation of a crypto currency.

First, your post is posted in the wrong section.
Second, most ICO projects are just hype, which is why countries are adopting laws to restrict ICO.
yes almost all altcoins are increasing based on hype. Look  at pundi x. Pundi x able to increasing up  to 0.015 cause it about to get listing in binance but went it get listed its drop into 0.003 and pundi is in top 40 i believe. Pundi x is in top 10 if it were 0.015( if im not mistaken). Its really a hype coin and i dont think it would increase anymore like it was before. Binance really a good exchange but it drive so many people crazy and make a hype going wrong. I dont know why people always think that if the coins listed on binance then its good and will  increasing and i believe its totaly wrong.

We are guilty of so many frauds. In pursuit of easy money, we do not notice the scam. I am sure that with the introduction of laws the situation will change for the better.

more and more ICO scam. Because of poor project quality, publishers are always trying to get money from investors. Sadly, investors are increasingly afraid and do not want to join the ICO

I think now about 20-30% is the scam ICO.  But I would not better invest in ICO anyway.

In fact, the percentage is not that big, just many people want to get it all at once. I do not want a company to enter the market because of competition, and so a person, faced with those or other factors that disappointed them, calls the company a scam. Judge for yourself: not every business idea was realized in life, but the factors were different

Perhaps, you are right. I don't know the results of statistics but to tell the truth I was unlucky to face a scam ico once. i think that it will be better to check its realibility before joining it. I think that it is possible

Not 80 % Icos are scam,I took a part in a few of Icos in last year and the projects are successfully developing and creating their product now but there are also lots of scam project nowdays so people have to be very careful before investing their money in any Ico.

Of course, recently the search for promising ICO projects has become a more complex and responsible task. But if you want, you can find a worthy option, having studied the documentation and the development team.

don't think that 80% of all ICO projects are scam.. really.. There are lots of scam projects, but I would never believe such statistics. Cause people would stop participate in public sales, if it was right.
There are also many projects that cannot complete their roadmaps. the situation in crypto world is tough now, so we should be very precise and meticulous when choosing a project to invest.

This information is true, I've come across some ICO who do fraud.
This incident became a thing that many people feared and I think if there are continuous ICO projects that scam will make the future Cryptocurrency become dark.
People will be reluctant to invest in ICO for fear.

I agree with you. I have long advised my friends not to participate in ico. Because most ico is a fraud. In addition to making you lose money, investing in ico has a very small chance of making money.

Yes, 80% of the ICO is a scam, but the remaining 20% are innovative technological projects with huge potential, investing in which can bring multiple profits. I think, it's important to see the positive even in that.

Saw this study on twitter... https://twitter.com/Zeex_me/status/978981735101878272

I've seen a lot of people asking about how many legit ICOs there are, so I thought I'd share

Quote from the article: "The study begins by breaking down ICOs into 6 groups: Scam, Failed, Gone Dead, Dwindling, Promising, Successful. “On the basis of the above classification,” they wrote, “we found that approximately 81% of ICO’s were Scams, ~6% Failed, ~5% had Gone Dead, and ~8% went on to trade on a exchange.”

"Scams were defined by researchers as “Any project that expressed availability of [an] ICO investment (through a website publishing, ANN thread, or social media posting with a contribution address), did not have/had no intention of fulfilling project development duties with the funds, and/or was deemed by the community (message boards, website or other online information) to be a scam.”

DYOR people ...

Well, in my opinion of course less than 80% of the scam. The scam is not projects that are paid for a very long time and leave for the stock exchange, nevertheless it is very unpleasant.

Most of the ICO projects that have not been successfully raised have disappeared, and no one will care about their outcomes.

I do not know why there are many fraudulent projects now, or that too many ICOs are failing today because of poor advertising, and they rely only on investors here on the forum, and few in social networks. I think that the true success of the project is a partnership between companies that can benefit both the project and the company that is a partner. However, all the usual failures of the ICO are due to the lack of community support.

I think now there are a lot of scam projects, but much less than 80%.  But all the same you have to be careful.
