Will a fork and new client solve the problem?
If so, then there is the saying: Don't cry over spilled milk!
You have no leverage to force the coins back, sunk cost.
Suck it up and move on.
If a fork and new client does not solve the problem. Then what are we doing here?
Unlike scammers who ask for BTCs and scammers who steal 8BITs I have brought new investors here. That's why I need no funds from community. However, they are my (more or less close) friends and they want to be sure that both client and chain is safe. No serious investor will invest a single BTC without making sure first that either missing dev or some insiders will not make them catch falling knife. I have found a serious problem and started to resolve that to make my friends (and actually ALL OF US HERE) sure that it will not make a negative impact to their investment. As you can see by timestamps from my conversation with dbt the 8BIT price was not affected by it at all, so I neither me nor my friends have made any business use of this knowledge.
BTW Tinkles is just a yet another investor and 8BIT supporter, I did not know him before. He has been included to a screenshot by mistake.
If you had come to me and said, "Hey man, there is some strange activity on the network and I think your wallet may be involved. Would you mind cooperating with me to sort things out?" Things would have gone in a different direction. But its clear from the conversation you posted that you accused me from message one, and I had no idea what you were talking about.
But that's not your way. You point fingers, assume the worst in people, spam other coins threads with big red letters, and extort the community.
You don't follow through. You make false promises.
I'm a really easy going guy and would have been more than happy to join you in your quest for justice. I would even destroy any ill gotten gains or donate them to a development fund if that is what's right.
But you wanted me to be a villian. You wanted me to somehow be a part of this elaborate story you convinced yourself was true.
Turns out, by the look of things, no one did anything wrong. Even M8.
But maybe you are right. Maybe I did receive 8bit I shouldn't have. Maybe M8 did too.
Go ahead, tell me how much 8bit I have that I shouldn't. I'm a man of my word. I'll set it aside in other address to stake for development. I'll destroy it. Whatever the community wants.
