If so much airdrops are scam is the proof that airdrops have an earning potential.
Scammers are not interested in "things" without a real earning potential.
Scam systems are only possible if they are based on working systems.

For exemple:
Why have ponzi shemes so much success by scammers?
Because a ponzi sheme is not scam but used by scammer.

Most of people are not able to make the difference between real systems and scams.
As soon something makes zero profit or lost the say:SCAM

I got your point of view and even if I not agree with it(not 99% really, there are more projects that give you reward for participation) I should say that this 1% of them can give you reward for all these 99%. Just need to choose carefully Smiley

It would be cool to say over 60% of airdrop is scam but really 99%. Have gained big from airdrop and I know why most tactics behind most airdrops of course it wouldn't be profitable for a project to use gas fee to send token to applicant and later not proceed on the project. There are legit once that they distribute airdrop just to have more holders or to gain recognitions or to fast pace their project instead of 2 months to waste on ICOs. With my luck in airdrop applications I can say over 60% of airdrops are scam but not 99% base on my experience but to some like the one on the OP, it may be 99% to them.

The title of this thread is bit provocative, but the fact is that most people have a bad experience with airdrops. According to several airdrop hunters I spoke to, the majority ICOs don't pay out at all.

What's your experience with airdrops? Did you get scammed most of the times?

From what I heard sometimes it's worth it, but I personally have never participated in any of them. It's funny that I've been thinking about changing my mind lately and starting to participate in airdrops, but the more I read about them the more I see that it's waste of time. Even if you collect thousands of coins, they can be so cheap when appeared on the market that your profit from selling all of them is less than $10 eventually. But I wouldn't call those unprofitable projects scams. It's more like they fail in their pursuits to me.

Earn only on airdrops - not risky but unplayable. They are more likely to have an introductory function. And, as a rule, are worthless, or do not reach the exchangers at all. I've never been scamed, if i participate in airdrops, when it's airdrops of big reliable ICO.

I believe that you are a bit overwhelmed with the fact that this 99 percent percent is much smaller by about 60 and it is also very unpleasant!

Now everyone is already writing about this. Indeed, there are too many scammers in the crypto-currency community. Regrettably, it repels new people  Wink

Personally, I have joined airdrops when I was only starting in the crypto world, but as I learned that it was only beginning to waste my time and efforts to do so, because most of the time the coin has no value and if I am lucky it can be tradeable but it is of little value and not even worth the time combined on joinig all these airdrops. I prefer working and putting an effort on a bounty campaign that you trust and gives you a decent amount of tokens that can be sold or hodl to earn a defent amount of money.

Teaching that in the airdrop is even easier to participate than in the bounty campaign, it is assumed that almost everything is there - a scam. and this, unfortunately, is true. there are tips on how to avoid such cases, do not forget about them and, perhaps, reduce the risk of losing your time.

I participated for many years in drops and did not earn so much here and decided that it was not much to gain from this until I got a good amount of money. Recently I stayed in business now, it motivates me.

First of all I would say that not 99% of them are, sometimes the project can pay a little amount of money, not the amount that you have anticipated, sometimes they would not get the cap, sometimes just the price is small.
Not 99% but bit lower which is 90%. Airdrops is like not ready product which is announced to public to attract people to buy it.
Airdrop is not ready. In this case we need to make product ready then we can sell it in the market. But problem is why many people interest with airdrop.

This is not always true to be honest, there are some airdrops that are legit but they are just less than 10 percent of the total of airdrops, and they are not giving more than $5

I have a lot of airdrop that I participated, some of the are not rewarding the users, and some of them are giving but it has no value at all, so it is true that almost 99% of airdrops is just a scam.

airdrops suit me, but I do not take them seriously, because this is the work for which I usually spend no more than 2 minutes.

Believe it or not, there was a time when an airdrop was so generous like Decred, that if you held, that Airdrop might be worth $10k-$25k USD in less than a year. Now there are people spending lots of hours for nothing. I can't say that I have had this happen before, but good luck to everyone.

Most of the time yes. That's why I don't care about airdrops anymore. Such a waste of time. I just focus on whatever I can do right now and play with the market. Hope for the best in the market of cryptocurrency.
