I hope we gamblers learned a lesson from this story as not to gambler what we can’t afford to lose right ?
I’m sorry for that fellow but I’m not sure his actually a good gambler because a gambler is supposed to know that, nothing is certain in the gambling industry and anything can happen as there have been cases of big odds winning against small odds.
For no reason should a gambler gamble what he can’t afford to lose no matter how promising the game might look and I think he also has to deal with his anger issues as the television has no hand in his loss and now he lost the game as well as his television which already a double loss for him.

It is never good to express anger over things it will only hurt you more you just couldn't afford to gamble. Should have calmed down after playing and losing. Breaking the TV is causing you more damage. Destroying things in the house does not work well. Be careful next time because you lost. If you can't avoid losses then stay away from betting the number of losses will decrease.

Here in my hood, someone staked $1,000 to a bet with little odds and to all hope that there was no possibilities of him loosing the game but revise be the case that the game got cut off in just 3 minutes for the game over and then he could had cashed his winning.
It is quite unfortunate that he staked above what he could not afford to loose. So out of frustrations and anger he broke his TV on the process.

After his temper became calm, he ended up regretting to had lost his bet and went such a mile of destroying his TV.

He now makes two different lost counts at the caused of his inability to control his gambling emotions and his over confidence to had staked what he can't afford to loosed.

Betting $1000 with a very small chance of winning is crazy courage, but unfortunately he loses and if he wins surely he will gets a lot of money and might also destroy the television to vent his emotions of pleasure, but indeed every time we bet a large amount of course we cannot also forget the possible big risk of defeat that we get,  I think we here would have done the same thing as the guy had we lost $1000 in just a few minutes, we don't know what reason prompted him to make that bet when he knew his chances of winning were so small and not even $50 or $100 but immediately bombed the bet to a considerable value of $1000,  I hope we here don't do the same thing as that man if we don't want to slam the cellphone or laptop we are holding today Grin.

But I think with the big loss finally the man can learn a valuable lesson where every bet must have a mature analysis especially if we bet with a lot of money, besides that, I think maybe the man is emotional not only because he lost gambling, but most likely his capital to gamble is the result of debt or even the money is family savings so he can't imagine what will happen to him later.

Destroying things around you in anger is the worst thing to do. Why do people take their anger out on things and destroy them ?
At the end, it is only causing them more loss. Instead they should go out in the open and may be shout or stay silent or meditate or something.
This way we don't end up losing our things and can think of a possible solution of the problem.

that's right, why do we vent our anger on things that have done us no harm? that's very stupid because we vent our anger on objects that we shouldn't destroy and that actually makes us lose even more. what gamblers should do is stay calm and be able to control the situation, so that they can avoid losses that they should not experience.
It is good for us to know the level of our temperament so that we can know our limit and do things accordingly without causing problems for ourselves. Sometimes we take risks with the hope of making fast profits from gambling but sometimes we might be unfortunate to play some certain bets and end up not getting the kind of results we intended to get. That does not need to cause a temperament uproar that will make us to spoil what we bought with our money because we lost bets due to high stake. We need to take things easy for ourselves so we don't take decisions that would later affect us as gamblers.

It's quite unfortunate that some people will go the extra mile when it comes to gambling. Whatever you don't have control over, just know that there is no guarantee of you getting the result you expected. Gambling is something that can go either direction, so why bet something with just the sole aim of winning without considering the fact that the bet can also be lost. This is common to newbies who are not experienced with gambling. Someone who has been gambling and understand the ethics about gambling won't behave that way.

Self-control is one key thing in whatever we do …. I wouldn't see a reason to go way extent in breaking my Television set because I lost a bet, this now makes him lost two things at the same time with the cause of anger, yes it happens as a result of anger, but I see this as having an immature mindset, and such person shouldn't even engage in gambling activities because they don't have self-control and can do more deadly things than breaking Television if he happens to lose even a more significant amount of money than what he lost ...... Imagine someone talking to this person in a rude way while he lost that bet, The gambler can injure anyone very close to him at that moment.

People can never keep off of bad gambling habit which should more like a watch word to a every gamblers not to gamble with what he can not afford to lose, gambling is just a game that we supposed to be I control not the game controlling us, however the reason why it always advisable to be 18 and above so you can possibly take responsibility for your actions and reactions. Transfer of aggressions is what is very common but is a very bad habit which you are going to regret later on.

That is stupidity at it climax. How can I be so dumb or too temperamental to the extent of breaking my TV which I bought with my hard earn money because I lost a game. I know sometimes we are so temperd when unexpected things happens to us but being disastrous is not good. Gambling is for fun but doesn't call for disaster. One should try to be calm and knows what to do when bad things happens. You might even go out and talk with friends, go to a bar and take some refreshments and keep away your mind from that particular incident, I think that will solve more problem than creating more problems arlt home.

You arent really just that showing off that you do have that short temper but rather you are just totally that wasting up some valuable object inside your house on which means that it would be
an another expenses since you would really be needing to buy another one. Isnt this something that regrettable on your part? Unless if you are that extremely rich on which you could buy things
that you have broken in an instant or into that moment then this wont really be an issue.  Kiss

You have completely misunderstood what I am saying and just repeating what is mentioned in OP.
What I was saying is that we should avoid this at all cost and try to stay calm when in anger by doing meditation or going out.

Sometimes we learn more from the worst thing we can experience, it is necessary in life so that we can learn from what we did and so that we do not repeat them. However, there are some people who, even though they have experienced these kinds of worst things in their life, they still continue to do so. As you said, he certainly regrets the actions he has taken, but we can't say if he will ever do it again because it can push him to repeat what he did because he can be challenged by what he has experienced.
We need to learns about having patience and knows how to calm down ourselves, especially if we are in the bad situations that need us to thinks clear to solved the problem. It's not easy but it's worth to learns so we can controls our anger properly without doing something bad that can affects to our emotional too. We will only regret it after we calm down and hope that is not happen. If they don't learn about patience and calming down, he will do the same things and the worst, he can beats other people around him and that can cause a new problem. When we can control ourselves better, we will easily get angry and lose control because we know that will only gives a bad affect to us and other people around us.

Dropping a stack you can't afford to lose on a gamble is like playing catch with a grenade - risky and potentially explosive. Gambling should be fun, not a get-rich-quick scheme. Think of it like buying a lottery ticket, exciting but not a real financial plan. Losing sucks, but throwing a tantrum and trashing your stuff? That's like trying to put out a fire with gasoline - only makes things worse. Gotta learn healthy ways to deal with those feels, homie.

Dude lost twice - his money and his TV. Yikes! But hey, everyone makes mistakes. The key is to learn from them and move forward, not get stuck in the past like a broken record. A grand and a TV is a bummer, but it's not the end of the world. There's always a way to climb out of a hole. Focus on what you can control: your choices, your emotions, and your hustle. Feeling overwhelmed by money stress or anger? Don't be afraid to reach out! Talk to a friend, family member, therapist, or financial advisor. They're there to support you, not judge. We all mess up sometimes. The important thing is to learn, forgive yourself, and keep moving forward with a positive attitude. Build healthy financial habits, manage your emotions like a boss, and find chill ways to deal with stress.

This story is a little less intense to me because there’s a verified news before that a man lose 1.4million USD bet on a 1.01 odds which is more brutal than the story you share here. I’m thinking what this man do when he lose his 1.4M since a man that lose 1K already broke his TV due to his anger. I’m thinking he is burning a house or a car with this kind of massive loss.

Full story here: https://nypost.com/2023/01/15/gambler-loses-massive-1-4-million-bet-on-chargers-jaguars-game/

Anyway, I’m still amazed that there’s still gambler that doing all in on bet with 1.01 odds assuming that this is sure win. There’s no sure in gambling and it’s better to play small on a decent odds than doing all in for a small return.

That's nothing strange in my circles!

I've seen folks smash their TVs after their team chokes in a big game.  They ain't even got money on it! The difference is they got cash to burn so they just buy another flatscreen right after.  Probably an upgrade over the busted one and  i knew this guy who put his fist through the screen when his squad lost in the finals - had a cast on for weeks but you better believe he had a new TV delivered that same day.  Yeah, fandom makes you crazy sometimes.
I wouldn't say the neighbour of the OP is nothing compared to your circle of friends because the OP's neighbour lacks in money while your circle of friends is the opposite of it. They can do those things maybe because they are heavily attached on their teams already but are people like this still normal? Maybe not really and that is why they can do those crazy stuffs we are discussing here.

Normal? Not at all. They are definitely the craziest of the bunch.

However, while they will sometimes take out their frustrations on technology or other material things, they're not prone to easily losing their temper in interpersonal relationships.  So I would say that such people are still OK, as long as they don't get physical with other people.

We all have that bunch of crazy friends and that's normal. As you've said, They know how to control their temper once bad thing happens to them while doing gambling and for me, that's the safest and better things we need to do in order to avoid negative things happen in our daily life. It's hard because when you reach the point of just making a mistake or just a little problem with gambling, you will immediately start to get angry. We must know how to calm ourselves when we encounter such problems so that we can better think of a proper solution.

I have seen someone who broke his PlayStation 5 because he lost a soccer match to a friend, they bet with just $20 and he was known to be a fifa genius, I think it's emotional in this case but when money is involved then anger will likely follow.

I am just trying to say that people have confidence over something they shouldn't have developed confidence for, gaming and gambling will remain games of luck, you really can't say, even if it's player vs player contest, you can't tell what will happen even if you are a professional in your own world, remember that some people are also as good as you are or even better than you are.

There is nothing that's better than the feeling of satisfaction in everything you lay your hands on, lack of satisfaction is why people take high risks in gambling, for me any win is a good win, that's why I am satisfied with whatever I get from gambling.

I'm very sure he will regret his actions because he lost a bet that was beyond his expectations, and it doesn't matter if he regrets it, it will be a valuable experience for him and not repeat it in the future, before he runs out of everything, that's It is important not to be greedy and to be a responsible gambler

Betting on low payout games is a good way to make a small but consistent return, the only problem is that once in a while these games going the other way and we are losing our money. It's important to keep remembering low risk doesn't mean no risk, things can always move against us. Which is why I would never bet all my money on one game alone. Better to spread out our money and use multiple of these low risk bets. Now using money that we can't afford to lose for gambling makes everything worse. On top of that breaking your own properties for no reason is very bad behavior. What good does it do to break your own TV? If you are frustrated and want to power yourself out to some sports or go for a walk.
If you are a person whose really that not minding about big profits then this way or method might do or something possible, but if you are someone whose that impatient then you would definitely be
making  yourself making huge bets but if you are that mindful with your finances then you would definitely be doing the opposite. Breaking things are really that a solid indication that you are already addicted to gambling. If you're not, you wont really be doing such action but rather you would really be just that simply move on and call it a day.

Its a must thing i should say on which it would really be that best that you would really be having that moderation and control if you dont like on messing things up.
People do usually have those kind of reactions when severe emotions do kicked in and cant be controlled.
