He really took too big a risk by placing a bet with such a small chance. If he could accept the risk, that would be fine, but apparently, he couldn't accept the risk, became frustrated and angry, and broke his TV due to his loss. Yes, he already regretted his actions because he broke his TV so he couldn't watch TV anymore, but that had all happened. He can only try to repair the TV if it can still be repaired. But if not, he will be forced to buy a new TV to replace the damaged TV. Hopefully, he can learn to control himself without destroying other things if he loses. The most important thing is that he must learn to place bets that he can afford so that he no longer has regrets as a result of losing when gambling. This is an important lesson for us so that we don't imitate what he did, which destroyed things in his house.

Now he has two problems; loss and tv.
To be frustrated is a normal response to loss since it is an unwanted outcome. Makes sense to say why we need to avoid losing that much and to avoid such feeling. Basically, if you will lose a tolerable amount, you won't feel such way. Why would you be betting amounts outside your financial capacity even if it is a fact that losing will always be a part of chances. Unless you are assured of the outcome, tht is the only instance it will be reasonable to do so, however there's no such thing right? You are engaging to gambling and you should take not of that. The only thing that will determine winning is luck. You can indeed increase your chance of winning by means of strategies however nothing is guaranteed. If you are into sports, this is aso evident. Familiar with underdogs winning against the favored teams or players? That's the logic.

Yeah some people do believe that little odds increase their chances of winning, but still there is no guarantee that they will win, why risk what you can't afford to lose? Either higher odds or small odds you must risk little, you are still in between the line of losing and winning, you won't know the outcome until the game is over.

With levels of losses comes uncontrollable emotions, when you stake too much money you will react, I don't want to know how strong you are, the solution is to never risk more than you can afford to lose, even if you have the best gambling strategy you must learn to respect yourself.

It's a lack of respect for yourself when you risk all you have on gambling, what will happen after? Possibly misbehavior, which could have been prevented, but greed, making biggest money out of thing air is what many people works for today, it's not in my blood.

This story is kind of common for those who can't control their emotions, but the thing is, this could be better than storing all the frustrations, but taking out other things, such as valuable things, is a bad indication. At least that gambler thought first before taking out his TV; now he doesn't just lose some huge amount of money but also a valuable thing.

I had some incidents back then when I'm taking out my frustrations and anger at a thing, but I realise that objects are not fault; it's me. I am the problem, so instead of taking it out on an object, better take it up to an object that can take a hit, like a punching bag or sand, anything that can be broken without worrying. It's normal to lose money from gambling, and it's normal to feel frustrated but take it out on something else.

We need to be prepared for the outcomes of games and competitions to avoid these scenarios. It's important to maintain a clear mind and understand that there are no guarantees of winnings, regardless of the odds.

It is not really easy as a gambler to bottle up your emotions when you make huge losses, especially when the chances of winning from all indications were high but then, people need to understand that this is gambling and in gambling anything can happen.  The only way to avoid being too emotional is by gambling with amounts you can afford to lose no matter the pressure on you to stake higher amounts.  Gambling with amounts you can afford to lose does not mean you would not feel bad about your loss, rather,  you would not be destroying properties and acting cold like your life depended on the money you lost and the profit you were expecting from that bet.

Emotional control is very important for all gamblers, we must try as much as possible to avoid taking steps to trigger our emotions to act out of proportion. Taking irresponsible measures with the hope of winning higher amounts can really be disastrous and at the end we will be left with regrets if we are not lucky.

Not a new story, I've heard so many similar stories or even worst stories than what you just shared here. Such thing is not only happened because of losing in gambling but also because of other things. No other reason except the ability to control our own emotion. Some gambler who lost money that they can afford to lose may also do the same thing so I think it is more about controlling emotion not merely about the lost money but of course the chance of doing such a thing is bigger to be done by those who lost money that they cant afford to lose.

I have said this times without numbers that gambling is healthy if you gamble with what you can afford to lose, but when you gamble with what you can't afford to lose you put yourself in an awkward situation and you will be pressured to do something stupid if it doesn't lead to addiction.

And to me the sole purpose of this problem is when you sees gambling as a source of income, because most of the people that have gotten addicted feels like it's the best way to make money which it's not.
Yes it is but most people do failed up in the end of the line and this is why they do really ends up on getting that addicted due to that severe or too much gambling dealing or engagement.
On the time that you do make yourself that impulsive or a type of person whose really that easily get lost to himself on the time with great disappointment.
I agree on what most people been saying that he didnt really just that losing his bet but also he had lost up his TV too on which its an another expense for his part. If he
didnt really just didnt make himself that impulsive then he would really be just losing that money and not his TV.  Tongue

It is normal for a person to be frustrated and angry because he has lost money due to risking more than he can afford. He did not consider the consequences if he suffered a loss if he placed a bet more than he could afford.

But instead, he became eager to place bets with big money. That is why we have to really know how many bets we can use. This is to prevent defeat that might come to us. Moreover, we don't know when we will win or lose when playing gambling. However, we can experience defeat more often than we win.

He would regret it when he saw that he couldn't control his emotions. He should be able to start learning about self-control so that something like that doesn't happen again. He must also be able to place bets that he can afford.

The great city of God 🔥
At first, it is never possible to predict a game and be %100 assured about wining, because gambling is all about luck, so there is no need being so angry to the extent of breaking his TV. That is a sign of over confidence which Leeds to disappointment when things don't work out to be the way we thought it could be. That why we usually preach about playing gambling with all you could afford to loose. So that when the lost comes, we shouldn't be over temperamental over an unnecessary things. Breaking his TV has nothing to do with the lost. And as a matter of fact he has lost 2 things at once. So let us be careful the way we handle issues concerning lost.

This is exactly the kind of gambler who should not continue what he is doing. He doesn't even understand gambling to begin with. Gambling is always like a toss coin in the sense that there is always a possibility to win and lose. If he knows this basic gambling fact, he should not have even reacted too angrily to it and destroy properties in the process. Why react that way when you know very well beforehand that your bet could lose? Shouldn't a reasonable gambler know that?

Or perhaps he's just a sore loser. Either way, he should change or quit gambling altogether.

Here in my hood, someone staked $1,000 to a bet with little odds and to all hope that there was no possibilities of him loosing the game but revise be the case that the game got cut off in just 3 minutes for the game over and then he could had cashed his winning.
It's a stretch to say that the bet had no business losing because you can never count out underdogs until the final second of the game. Those late comebacks always happen, and it's why I always tone down my bets if I want to bet on close matchups.

Also, going big in a favorite bet is always a recipe for disaster when bookies like to overvalue favorites, and then they become a trap for several bettors.

I think he has learned his lesson not to gamble with the amount of money that he can not afford to lose.
He may not have learned his lesson, many gamblers do not learn and because many gamblers do not learn and are always at the danger of repeating the mistakes they make some people have attributed gambling to be a spiritual problem that people cannot control.
Destroying your property because you lost from gambling is a sign of instability and aggression. These kind of people can continue and maybe later start transferring aggression to their partners or children anytime after they loose.

The event you relate highlights how emotions need to be managed and self-controlled when gambling. Wherever an individual engages in gambling, it is essential to stay cool-headed and make rational choices no matter the outcome of a bet. It can bring about stress, anger, or harmful impulsive actions when one bets more than they can afford to lose.

Thus, it is necessary for each player to establish their boundaries on the amount of money and to adhere to them. If a person experiences frustration or anger as a result of losing the game, they should take care and learn how to cope with these emotions in a healthy way, for example, by talking to someone they trust or seeking help from specialists if needed. Moreover, possessing a rational attitude towards the chance of winning while gambling is also important. No one should be too confident or reliant on fate alone, but they should always be aware that there is always some level of risk and no definite guarantee for any specific outcome.

I mean, little odds don't mean that it's a guaranteed win. It's just dumb to assume that it automatically is really. Not to mention that he went ahead and staked $1k, I mean who does that really? It'd probably be better to do a bunch of small bets with high odds since there's a better chance of him winning more and losing less. I mean why would he even want to bet in the first place? It's not like that 1k would net a lot when staked on a low-odds bet.

Then there's the TV. Jeez. I swear TVs are one of the top 5 in terms of being victims of domestic violence Grin.

He was a very careless and reckless gambler, and he was not the kind of addicted gambler. Just because of his stupidity and perhaps overconfidence, he got excited without thinking about it and also didn't have any experience that caused such a fuss and regret.
And I can't believe he doesn't know that low odds are risky and realize that if it doesn't live up to expectations then it will be disappointing because anything can happen. And it will be a valuable lesson and experience that gambling is not as easy as he imagined.
Sometimes,  some gamblers go overboard and get in some positions that may be tight for them and for sure we have a lot of things at stake and if you ask me I will say that his action was overbearing and also very I call for,  breaking the tv set is what I do not understand the point behind,  but then I have seen what uncontrollable emotions have made people to do stupid things and at the end, they blame it on either addictions or another sort of things that sound so unbelievable.

The thing sometimes is that gamblers think that by taking higher amounts in bets with low odds in increases their chances of winning bets and in the end, they end up losing such a bet.
Its not sometimes but rather it would really be that rather often for most gamblers that going overboard for them to make t hose kind of betting on which it is really that way more than than that they can afford to lose
and this is why on the time that you do deal up with gambling then you should really be just only make use of the amount that you can afford to lose. Dont bet with your life savings, dont bet with your
whole salary, dont bet with your car mortgage payment and everything which is really that important. People do mess up only if they've been able to go beyond with those limits.
You wont really be finding yourself in any issues or problems if you are really just that sticking with your limits and only just make use of the amount wont really be compromising your budget.

It is quite unfortunate that he staked above what he could not afford to loose. So out of frustrations and anger he broke his TV on the process.

After his temper became calm, he ended up regretting to had lost his bet and went such a mile of destroying his TV.

He now makes two different lost counts at the caused of his inability to control his gambling emotions and his over confidence to had staked what he can't afford to loosed.

Anger is a wild emotion to control and some people are unable to do it. The fact that someone can get so angry that the red mist descends and they turn off all rational thinking is a very dangerous trait to possess. However I think it can be controlled, that control will come from using reasoned and rationale thought. In some interactions, like gambling, you must go into it with the acceptance that these companies spend a lot of money in order to make money from gamblers and they will do it very effectively - you have a high likelihood of losing anything you deposit. Not only that, certain games like anything you'll find in a casino against the house, are weighted in their favor, so you are destined to lose, when you accept these facts and possibilities it should be clear in your mind about the outcome before you start.

That's nothing strange in my circles!

I've seen folks smash their TVs after their team chokes in a big game.  They ain't even got money on it! The difference is they got cash to burn so they just buy another flatscreen right after.  Probably an upgrade over the busted one and  i knew this guy who put his fist through the screen when his squad lost in the finals - had a cast on for weeks but you better believe he had a new TV delivered that same day.  Yeah, fandom makes you crazy sometimes.

he he I also know such a person, he is a big fan of e-sports and in my memory he destroyed several monitors and the same number of keyboards. What is remarkable in life is that he is the most calm person, he has a job,a wife and children. But as soon as it comes to tournaments and there are bets During the events, a completely different person inhabits him and it looks very strange. This is a hobby for a person, what can he do?)
Such outbursts happen once a year for sure, perhaps in this way he splashes out his anger that has been accumulating throughout the year.
