What is or are your opinion(s) on this matter?
I think it's a matter of preference. Culture and Personal. For me though, it's better to be less quite about it.

I am confused about how the man gets that $51363 with just these odds...  sounds like a hoax to me.. but well who knows...

It's possible as far as I know. These odds are for single matches but he did bet for all of these matches on a single bet, combined bet, I forgot the right term...
Being so, the risk will be greater but also the possible win will be higher. The risk is greater since if you was not able to predict the winner on any of these match, you'll bust.

This is a very important thread and advise, I believe the unidentified man who won that maga casino prize will fine it hard to hide his identity unless he played online. Most people in Nigeria who are involve in sport betting always does that from a betting shop with ticket printed for them only a few others visit online version so hiding his identity from friend may become hard. So remaining anonymous and privacy caution will help one a great deal, learning to keep your success private help prolong your life from invaders who may come from within your circle of friends.

I am not so lucky as this guy! He is really very lucky to win such a huge amount of money from sports betting. Any financial gain should not be discussed with the surrounding people. This can cause more danger instead of showoff. I do not discuss my financial gain with anyone, everyone should remember that keeping something secret is considered a good decision in many cases. But when a gambler wins a big bet he likes to show off and this can be seen in all countries.

We have seen such big wins few times and believe those are extremely lucky gamblers who turn few dollars into such big wins because the odds needs to be high or say you need to hit rare multiplier in these cases but still it's best time for them to celebrate such big wins and it's the same time for Nigerian men on his win of $50k and in their currency it's too much to spend on.

This kind of win are the types that no one will ever thought about it coming, every bet place by the gambler could have been judged by others to be wrong betting and a waste of fund because they never thought about taking high risk to that extent he took on the impossibilities in gambling, this why i don't get influenced whenever i want to place a bet, i go directly to bet with my own perception and not what others are saying because it's my money am using to gamble not theirs,

But what will he get after all tax deduction is my concern?

That shouldn't be a problem as long as they are not demanding half of the whole money, but i want to believe there would have been alot of pressure right on the gambler's neck regarding his fortune.

The man should not reveal his identity, else he would be subject to a lot of beggars and a lot of pressure from the society to help other people's plight.
I think the guy doesn't care about privacy, but so he might have to accept the fact that the possible winnings will be taxed [if there is a rule]. Then later, some people come begging for food and other things that might be annoying.

If I were the man, I'd claim the money, keep it on an offshore bank account and travel to that country and settle there for good. It's time for him to turn his life around and live comfortable.
How long do you think you can survive in a country with a high inflation rate today with $50K?   Cheesy
If you like something luxurious, then maybe you can buy a car or something with a value of 50% of the total winnings, the rest is safe to be used as venture capital if you really want to quit gambling.

I'm not saying that he shouldn't help, it's just that it's not his obligation to do so. He could always give some to family and friends, but not to the point that his win will be diminished to something that will not be able to help him to start anew.

I don't think he will lose a lot of money thanks to taxes since 50 grand would most likely not attract heavy taxation. I guess he might stand to lose $4K or something which is a random guess basically.

Wow making 50x times returns in sport betting is massive, congratulations to him.
if I compare that bet with these low amount that produced a much more better outcome than x50 of your bet.
You guys are mistaken. He won around x50,000 of his bet which is insane if you think about it.

Anyway I think the joy of this man should be huge as any bet that brings you a huge amount of money is a really great feeling from what I have heard as personally I am searching for it through slot machines trying to get a maximum payline.
Well, that's something to be happy for when you've just bet with a dollar and then the return is 51K times. If I'm the winner, I'll be having a great day and I'll thank everyone that I want to thank on that day because of having that joy for the entire day.

You can share it online in an anonymous forum like this one but in a country like Nigeria I would be very careful to not share it with friends or relatives.
I wouldn't be biased on one particular country. But in almost every country, it's better to hide that moment of winning a lot of money and remain anonymous so that you won't be taking attention from your friends, family, relatives and strangers.

While this is a huge amount for a country like Nigeria, there have been people who have won more than that with just bets like 0.36 and 0.72,less than one dollars bet so I am impressed but not that much if I compare that bet with these low amount that produced a much more better outcome than x50 of your bet.

If I am eager to share my success story, I prefer to do it online where no body knows me In person, like this forum, doing this offline with family, friends, colleagues, etc.. I think is too risky.

What is or are your opinion(s) on this matter?

Wow making 50x times returns in sport betting is massive, congratulations to him. With such kind of a profit I would also be careful telling friends and family about it, especially when living in a poorer country like Nigeria. Sharing your profits on social media only to see your video go viral and becoming a internet sensation is probably the worst thing I could do. You put a big target on your back and I am sure there will be some "childhood firends" calling the next day who haven't talked to you in 10 years. After making a lot of money it becomes hard to know who is your real friend and who is only around you because of your new wealth, and once the money is gone these people will also be gone. So far I haven't been in a situation where I got a huge win. If I am lucky and I make some profit, then I like to invite my friends for a beer, but I don't tell them how much I won. I remember my grandfather told our family once he won like 1000 Euro in the lottery 6 months ago, but he had already spend all the money so he cant give us anything  Cheesy Whenever I win something big, I would do the same or only tell my best friend about it.

This is a lesson for all of us that if we get any luck, we don't need to tell many people and just tell people who are really close to us. This is very important because we do not know who will hear the news and we also do not know who will be happy or vice versa. We must be smart to keep it a secret from others so that it will not affect us badly.
actually no need to tell anyone aside from your immediate family because people change because of money.

they can be as devil or greed once saw a large amount of Money , knowing their place? I am afraid of what he can be if people tries to get his winning.
Indeed it is not necessary to avoid having bad people do something with us. By showing off those big wins to the public, we can lure bad people into trying to take the winnings, especially if we don't keep them well.

No one knows the human heart and this is what we must avoid. If we want to celebrate this good thing, we can do it with the people closest to us without provoking the curiosity of others. We do not have to share all the good things we get with many people.
But like a person it is?  I believe that he wanted to be famous because this is once in a lifetime happening for the people like Him.
There's no point in being famous if we can't keep the winning money and instead use it to splurge after that. It wouldn't be worth it even if they wanted to be famous. They could do it for something else instead of sharing the story of their big win at gambling.

One need to understand, gambling is the way in which it is possible to turn a dollar into million. It is also the way in which one can start with spending $1 and end up losing millions. When we talk about the big wins, it is also good to think of the loss that could happen out of gambling. Thinking of jackpot and getting motivated through these kind of wins is good, but we should know our limits on trying our luck.

How can one lose millions of dollars if he starts and plays with only 1$? Yeah, he needs to play million times with 1$ and lost each one of those games to be able to lose a million dollars.

By the way, this win is too much luck and i wonder if people really win such an amount. In my country, 51,000$ equals to 11278650 Pakistani rupees with which a person can spend  20 years without the need to work at all. I am shocked that gambling houses earn such a big money that they can give their players so much amount of free money.
In playing gambling, if we can have a special record of how much money we use, maybe we will be surprised to see it because the amount can be very large and maybe it will be $1 million. But sadly, many of us don't think so and continue to gamble using the same money, say only $1 but they gamble every day.

It's possible that someone won that kind of money because we don't know. But I believe that some people can indeed win a lot of money from gambling and he got lucky at the right time and place.

It’s indeed a big win and no doubt the man played it well.
I am still wondering what was the event actually and what was the odds when he placed the bet.
As far my knowledge getting a multiplier of approx 50,000 times is really hard. So yes kudos to him.
Also I was really impressed by the way he just celebrated his winnings. It’s really great to know that people believing in God and praying them.
Lets hope the person wins more and spreads positivity among other people also.
From the above screenshot we can see some betting slips but it is not possible to win money like fifty thousand dollars. The screenshot shows $50,000 with bonus but does not mention whether he bet or won the jackpot. I think it is never possible to win such amount of money without winning the jackpot. Because he only bet 8 hundred Nigerian dollars.

Not 1k bet but just over $1 bet. So his winnings is still almost $51k.
Who would have thought that $1-level bet would give him such fortune? So yes, he is lucky.

Many of you say that, but I don't think it's that big a deal or that lucky. A prize of 50 to 1 is not so improbable, it's not as if I had won the EuroMillions jackpot, which is 1 probability between 139,838,160.

USD 50,000 is a considerable amount in Nigeria, however, where the average salary is 170 USD per month.

As for having disclosed it, well, I think it's better not to talk about it, especially if it's going to jeopardise your safety, but some people can't stand the joy. Let's hope nothing happens to him for having disclosed it.

It seems miraculous to me too, how someone could become the owner of so many dollars by completing just a few bets. Moreover, it has been publicized in the head column of a local newspaper. However, if God keeps good luck then no one can stop it.

The news source: @thenationnewspaper

I doubt that the account is from a national newspaper.  Look at how many people are subscribed to that account.  A legit national newspaper account could have more than hundreds of thousand of followers/subscribers if not millions.  I think the national newspaper is just an account name but not literally means that the account is recognized as official national newspaper.

Sounds a legit  point , knowing how many people In nigeria and they love gambling ? if this is a legit News paper outlet then at least 10s of thousands subscriber is reasonable , and this is truly a huge win if that so.

Nigeria is a part of OPEC, they are a very rich country in potential but unfortunately that wealth is not equally shared hence a not so heathy economy for most but for some this isnt a giant win.   Right now they have a great problem of flooding so its all relative, the man might be rich for now but I get the feeling he must find a good way to invest the money to stay rich being lucky once is not likely enough.  Its developing country, in theory great growth is possible for the correct investment and return.
This is why it's also important to have financial literacy so you can know when to put your money.
Nigeria is full of potential, if he able to see that as an opportunity he can start doing business so he can stay rich with that money.
With the concern of the security, I believe their culture with family is good and I know he can be more safe with his family. It's not that bid but being millionaire on that country tells something different, I wish he won't gamble that money again but for sure he will try his luck again. After winning the money, your next enemy will be yourself think wisely.
actually having business is better but if he will only trust Bitcoin or crypto to Keep it hold? then the potential increase may happen in the coming years , If he can leave gambling from that.

Another flaw is that they are able to tell the activity of that man when they already told us that the man is unidentified.. .  The series of events of that news just simply don't sink in.  Cheesy

Apparently the news seems to be true. was published by many news channels:

https://lagospanorama.com/young-man-wins-n38m-sports-betting-with-n800/

https://yemiefash.com/man-wins-n38m-sports-betting-with-n800/

Still doubting the same as what @Serjent said.
All the words and pictures that are included are the same, there is no difference.
Maybe it will be true if it can be verified that there is news also on television because with the amount and where he lives very life changing.
Many will want to interview him because it is a rare thing even though he may refuse an interview for his safety.
Hopefully, his religious leaders don't tell him to throw away his money because it is considered haram money.

everyone has a different character and emotions, maybe he wants to express happiness to everyone but in the wrong way which can harm him. everything has happened there is no other way for him to try to protect himself. Maybe hiding in another country.

First of all, true Muslims are not allowed to gamble... so I do not know why he would go to the mosque to pray, if it is not allowed in their religion.  Roll Eyes
Maybe he wants to be grateful and say thank to God have been given sustenance in a different way. I've read in another country there's even more extreme, where a corruptor builds a place of worship from money corruption.
