They just asked you to submit your KYC details? Simple as that?

What are the other things they told you about the specific violation that is written on their Terms and Conditions?

I'm totally good if KYC will be asked to me if it's about big winnings but the site should explain clearly to me the case I got involved in.
Sending your personal information to someone that you do not know on the Internet is never a small or a simple thing, also this casino as described by the OP does not really have a good reputation, something that even the quickest search in the forum could have told us so you could avoid playing there, in that case sending your personal information is even harder as who is going to trust that those people are not going to sell that information on the black markets?

These are just few of the links showing off some issues about BitStarz casino and when it comes to Kyc or documentations even on legit platforms
I cant really be that just to confident no sharing these things online. We know the risk and I cant just simply let it pass.
Exactly, even sending your documents to a platform that has a good reputation is a difficult decision to make as we know that once you send your documents you have no control over them and the only thing that is necessary is for a corrupt person get access to your documents and then your documents will be on the black markets, and sometimes that is not even necessary, after all we know that hackers could get access to those documents as well, but when it comes to a site with a bad reputation sending your documents is simply a bad idea that no one should consider to do.

I can confirm this in part from my own experience. I used to refer new members for Bitstarz. Some of the members I knew personally and because they gave you free spins for signing up, I found a lot of people who wanted to try the casino. Most of them didn't win anything with the free spins or lost everything right away. But there were a few who had good winnings with the free spins and reached the payout limit. When they wanted to cash out, Bitstarz first asked for personal data (supposedly for security reasons). After that was supplied, they claimed there was irregular behavior with the account, etc. In the end, none of the users I know received their winnings. Since then, I am no longer active on the platform itself, nor do I promote it.

thanks everyone for your replies. The whole thing really sucks. Just posted here as a record of my experience and also knowing that there was little else I could do about it!

You're all correct as well. I should have researched. Unfortunately, I naively accepted the results of a search made for 'trusted crypto casinos' and seeing bitstarz being highly recommended on whatever blog post I opened. I wish I had looked into it further and certainly know better. But, lesson learnt

I joined a different casino the next day which has amazing rake backs and very very luckily managed to win half the money lost on Bitstarz back. So, definitely softened the blow. Amazingly, I was able to withdraw the entire amount without issue!

Again, I just wanted to make a record of my experience so others can be warned but, thank you all for your comments and feedback Smiley
That is an experience for you to learn from your mistake if you realize your mistake so you do not get the same experience in the future.

If you already get the other gambling site and do not have a problem, especially with withdrawing, you can stay at that site but always remember that you should be careful to use your money.

So, congratulations to you because you can get the money that you already lost on Bitstarz before. It is better you take a break for a while and not continue playing gambling because your mind will think to recover the rest of the losses.

See you must read some real reveiw about the casino you want to deposit the funds first of all and if you find it legit then play there but hope you miss that part and was scammed and become another victim of that site and you just lost your 3 ETH and your claimed 26 ETH will never be credited in your account first of all.All the reviews are paid and you have to find accurately yourself. You should have been warned when they were asking weird terms to be fulfilled like KYC, address proof and personal photo on street which is really not acceptable so you must have taken a step back then.My personal suggestion if you want to experiment any new or old casino then you can deposit small funds and try to play with them as losing 3 ETH is great loss and costly lesson to be learned from your mistakes. But still you can be aware for future and let others also aware about them.

I see so many scam accusation about that casino here and I think thats enough proof for me that they are not good casino so better we should avoid this one since there are more good casino which we can choose.

Also before other newbie start to look for playground to play better if they search first the name of casino here since for sure they can get more information about the casinos here.
Casinos involved in cryptocurrency will always be found here so they should normalize searching it here first before doing any risky moves. And if there's a lot of red flag on a certain casino why even bother to risk just because you see something but that doesn't mean it's what it is. Some of them use it as a bait to gather more newbies then eventually scamming in the process.

Always put this in mind newbies, to always do your own research first.

There are casino which doesn't have any thread here but I will not recommend them to use since we don' have any feedback to read but if you are curious to know about it care to check this https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/25-best-bitcoin-gambling-sites-and-crypto-casinos-in-2021-301252459.html

That's why we always recommend for new players to stay at this forum since they can always check those accurate feedback from experience player.

I agree that the site needs to be thoroughly researched before kyc under kyc they took all the information and later scammed. Next before participating in any site check it well explain your entries include the game date disadvantages and parts including your thoughts on how the game is going and what you cando next. A careful gambling journal doubles as a ledger and helps you calculate your winnings.
The problem is that some sites that will scam you are a wolf in sheep's clothing meaning that they know when to strike, they aren't content with a quick buck like their lowly counterpart because they tend to fatten the goose before doing anything. My advice to everyone is to question everything that they read online because anyone can lie to their teeth online.

Judging from the deposit amount that OP made, he is a gambler who is used to playing with quite high amount but unfortunately the OP did not do research first to protect his money from this scam site, this is a lesson.

If he's really a gambler, then we should expect him to make research first.

He's a newbie that maybe got dragged by someone else on that site.

The majority of us here will not just deposit a high amount without doing some research. It's an obvious thing to do beforehand.
I doubt he is a new gambler because he says that he is playing on countless casinos and has never been asked for verification. That means he is familiar with what happened in the casino and he knows about verification for a gambler in the crypto casino.

After all, it already happens and we should take this as our lesson so we do not get the same experienced as him. Never use too big money for playing gambling if we can not afford the losses.

This reminds me of a similar case i've read back then, the user lost his winnings after going over the max bet requirements and this is why I never take any deposit bonuses on casinos.

then what about 2 eth again that the OP previously said has lost, is it not returned?
The first deposit isn't returned because he didn't took any bonuses and even admitted that he's purposely avoiding the bonuses. The issue only started during his second deposit where the bonus was automatically applied.
People doesn't know about these bonuses and all. It is also a reason, for this person it is not. I personally didn't know when I got into gambling. After reaching specific amount of wager my vault got small bonus. Later the support team informed that I've reached specific level and bonus and appreciation has been send to the vault. It is also the gamblers responsibility to know about it.

I don't want to do victim-blaming but why play on  BitStarz when there are existing scam accusations, since you are not interested in their bonus this is something that baffles us, if you have a good experience and encounter any problems and issues, there are reputable gambling sites that you can play, you save your time and effort in case you win because you are going to get your winnings if you are playing in a good gambling site.
He is a newbie, he probably knew about the existence of the forum but did not saw the need to register here, it is my opinion that even if people are not really interested on being part of the community there is a huge incentive for people to create an account here as this is probably the best place to find out if the casino, exchange or coin in which you want to put some money is really a scam, and this way you will save yourself a lot of trouble and avoid what happened to the OP.

Always put this in mind newbies, to always do your own research first.

That's what other newbies don't do, to research first. The research will just be done after the scam.

But honestly, I don't take the reason that they are newbies why they fall on the trap. It should be a common sense to always DYOR before testing the site more especially when you are about to give your money there.

Imagine, 3 ETH then will just deposit to a site that easily? It's the same as just throwing money to unknown. Common sense is not use in that case.
This is a common mistake most newbies do. They just carelessly trust some casino that they stumble upon then starting to deposit because they were excited to play and it turns out it's a scam website then do their research. This is the best example of driven by their emotions that remove their capability to think properly.

We really can't blame them for being a noob in handling risk when it includes handling the money. A proof that he's a less experience users in the world of gambling and it will take quite some time, effort and money to get used to it. Doing your own research will be just casual in any day you explore a new site for gambling.

This is one of the reasons why I absolutely hate bonuses in any sort of casino.
Yep, if the bonus is exploitable with multi account, you probably will be accused of abusing ToS.

Not only bitstarz, but the Dama N.V. operates a lot of casinos: https://dama-nv-casinos.com/
You probably want to avoid all of them since they have the same welcome bonus modus operandi.

what the OP experience today is at least a lesson for those of us who are gambling on gambling sites, we really should check how reliable the site is to pay for its users, especially in large enough amounts like the OP got, I think the OP is a little lucky to be able to get back the eth that was deposited, because some scam sites even usually deactivate the users' accounts and don't want to return the money we have deposited to the site, the OP said previously had deposited a total of 3 eth and 1 eth was returned, then what about 2 eth again that the OP previously said has lost, is it not returned?

Those sets of verification that were asked of you were very funny. It is the first time that I've seen a casino asks for verification including the streets that you're walking/walked on. Well, they probably cannot think of anything and that's why they've added an odd requirement.
If you just did the research earlier on, you won't be ending up with that casino. They should have validated those wins you've made and it should be a fair win to you.

your lucky because they have returned your original deposit but the rest was unaceptable  .
you win 38 eth out of that 1 eth you deposit and without the help of their bonus and you did met the bonus requirement fairly but it was also your fault for playing on a casino that is not advised by bitcointalk members because in this forum we have casinos here that are the real trusted .

Do you think everyone who is gambling with cryptocurrency is aware that this forum exists? I don't think so. And even if many of them are aware of the existence of bitcointalk, how many of them are aware that there are actually cryptocurrency casinos which are highly trusted by many members here?

I think it is unfair for putting the blame on the victim simply because he is not into the forum.

Sorry for your loss mate but you must learn your lesson now.

BitStarz is a Declared scam casino sites and faces multiple issues over the years and i believe that their ANN thread is inactive now and they are only relying in victims over fresh players.
The problem is that we don't bump the thread so users can reply to it and warn newbies that they're a scam website, just like what the users are doing with 1xbit.

I need some kind of help from you guys. Recently I started playing casino games here https://gamblingorb.com/options/fastest-payout-online-casino/ I know it's involved risk but I can profit as well. Time will tell everything. But my question is should I continue with it or not? Please suggest to me your honest opinion.

honestly speaking i think it's too risky to use all those casinos that are on this site, why don't you use trusted casinos that are on this forum? imagine if any of those casinos become scams or make selective payouts as you expect to find out if they do? but if you use trustworthy casinos from here on the forum you will be able to know when the casino becomes a scam or if the casino makes selective payouts

The saddest thing about all this is that the owners of these sites are anonymous, the sites have no headquarters and physical office, but even being anonymous they ask their customers to do KYC
This is not really fair, you have no way to trace who are the people behind this gambling site, they don't have to ask for KYC because they are not under by any regulators, they know that some gamblers do not want to undergo KYC and by asking KYC they think that the players will just forget the withdrawal, there should be another thread created for this gambling site on the sam thread.
If they still use that way, they will lose their member because their member will move to the other gambling site that does not require KYC. The member itself has the right to search for and select the gambling site and if they think that the site does not give what they want, they will not use that gambling site. That means those gambling sites will not get money and could not be online for a long time. We can not do anything with their term and condition, but we can select the other gambling site.

aside from the fact that it's a scam site, I'm also shocked by this:

4. Was asked to walk to a street sign and take a photo of me next to it.

 Shocked Shocked

What if these scammers come to your house and commit barbaric crimes against you and your relatives? What if they sell your address to criminals?

I confess that I had never seen this requirement to do KYC

It's not a valid kind of proof of address, as someone could post a picture of themselves next to a street sign 10 hours away from them.

but it's enough for them to find you easily, when I do KYC I give all my real data, but using that data to find me would take time, unless the person went to the internet  company or water company and kept asking questions, but taking street pictures is already something more dangerous in my opinion.

The saddest thing about all this is that the owners of these sites are anonymous, the sites have no headquarters and physical office, but even being anonymous they ask their customers to do KYC

How would one tell if a gambling site has issues with reputation except you find one who have been a victim at a point or you fall a victim to it. Taking quality time to scrutinize a site before depositing is very Paramount as long as online activities is concerned as well as going through their terms and conditions to ensure you are ok with it. Most gambling sites are just bent on looting without consider the have a reputation bto protect all the consider is how much the would make from their clients

I am sorry for your loss OP. This shouldn't just be a word of warning before playing on BitStarz Casino. Your topic should just state the obvious and make it known that BitStarz Casino is shady and that gamblers should not even consider playing it there.

The site can always go back to their conditions to make it appear that they are not actually running away from their responsibilities to pay, but it does not suffice. I am sure they wouldn't mind this if you end up losing instead of winning.

Don't blame OP because he was lured and being believed of their legitimacy just later that they showed their character after gaming.

If he did research before playing then any kind of promotion or luring will not work on OP because he has done his research and he read reviews coming from this forum, the basic of all basic when playing and investing is to read reviews it only takes 5 minutes of your time and effort but will save you thousands of dollars.

I can't even remember when I played at BitStarz... maybe 4-5 years ago... maybe even 6 years ago! That was when I started with crypto... like a century ago! And I had some good runs there, the first place I saw with so many slots and table games, and all were free for playing without any country restrictions! Country restriction sucks when you live in a third-world country!
After that "bad things" started to happen... too many accusations even from reputable members here! So I just found another place to gamble! New crypto casinos offered a lot more than BitStarz... somehow I feel it's still the same, they offer less than some others crypto casinos!

PS: Once again we have a newbie that comes to complain AFTER losing money! As always I wonder "why the hell they didn't come here before risking their money"? Did they even try to research a place where they plan to deposit a little fortune?
We all learn from mistakes... next time OP should check things around before making a move! Smiley

It is always been a sad thing that there are still becoming victim of this cam site , when the truth is there are so many case for this .
just searching the name of the site will brings you to this forum and the scam accusation section of this.
What's on their mind, anything that you will put your money, you should do research, always think that where you will go after if they ever scam you and is the site reputable and with good reviews from independent players, they just believe on everything that on the site is, we will have more and more post like this, and even if we don't want to blame them it's really on them for not doing the right thing

I'm not really surprised as Bitstarz (and 1xbit/1xbet) spend massive money on advertisements and getting their banners on most crypto websites. I have a feeling they particularly prey on publishers who are strapped for cash - and believe me, there are a lot of them - and wouldn't mind trading their reputation for a quick buck. These advertising campaigns must be successful, since they seem to be luring an ever-increasing number of newbies to their casinos using gamblers' money to pay for the ads.

aside from the fact that it's a scam site, I'm also shocked by this:

Sorry for your loss.

But for a deposit of more than 2 ETH is not wise because you risk more than $3,500 and that is a lot of money, even if you have many ETH, that still not a good thing. I can only suggest you play gambling from the site you found here so you can reduce the chance of getting scam by the casino. I never played on BitStarz before, so I do not know if they ask so many identifications for their members before they can withdraw.

In this lesson, deposit too big money will make you worry and if you lose, you will hard to recover the money. I suggest you use small money to playing gambling, so if something wrong happens like what you experienced, you will not lose too big money, even if you can win a lot of money because your initial money is not too big.

I don't request loans~
Rather odd how the methods they asked for your KYC didn't send red signals already. I mean, an ID is already more than enough, and really, unless it's faked, they wouldn't ask for another method to prove your identity. Not to mention that even if it was faked, they'd just use the same method, but ask for a different ID to prove. I must say, you gave out way too much info than you're supposed to tbh. Well seemed like it was a rather old scam site, so hope OP actually looks for info about the sites you're playing at beforehand.

4. Was asked to walk to a street sign and take a photo of me next to it.

What if these scammers come to your house and commit barbaric crimes against you and your relatives? What if they sell your address to criminals?

I confess that I had never seen this requirement to do KYC
This tbh. An obvious red flag. Yes, your ID contains your address, but seeing irl proof makes it a LOT easier tbh.

My friend once tried to encourage me playing in this site but lucky that i did not tried because weeks after he become a victim of scamming also.
and also this company/gambling site is not already active in this forum and they are not willing to settle all the issue in this section.
Sorry for your loss. But then again thank you for posting, so gamblers and people in the forum can take this lesson learned with you its really now hard to trust casinos, I was just curious if the BitStarz casino is a licensed gambling site? The only advised I can give is next time don't be impulsive and get too excited but to research first.
people in forum are already aware of this site since there are many cases filed against this site , only those newbies and those not active in scam accusation section are becoming victims on this..

Over and over the casino had scammed already. The warnings are all over the net if you just googled it, there are just casinos made only to scam gamblers.
If you have been playing many times in the past, you should be updated with the rampant scam in the crypto casino scams because its activity done countless times. If there is a new casino you want to signup for, you first google for its reputation.  You might wanna move this thread to scam accusation where it's supposed to be.

There are paid reviews and scammers are doing that so they can lure more new players to play on their platform and this is what newbies are finding online but the place to read reviews are on the ones coming on this forum because they are reviews coming from legit players and they are independent reviews.

I doubt all review sites are paid by Bitstarz. Bitstarz were listed at least the majority of the review sites.

What happened to OP is intentional because of big winnings at stake and the site is likely doesn't want to pay for that kind of big amount. But for $100, $200, $500 withdrawal, I think the site is allowing that.

But the bottom line here, Bitstarz's reputation should be tagged as a scam here in the forum and we will spread that.

This is one of the reasons why I absolutely hate bonuses in any sort of casino. They simply try all they can to crawl out of having to pay for the bonus.

The terms and conditions are usually very tough for no obvious reason. This is especially true for maximum bet sizes that they enforce arbitrarily with no consistency whatsoever, and use that as a reason to not pay out big bonus winners.

They also seemed to pull the KYC/AML card earlier on, which you complied with so they had to find some sort of other excuse. Certainly shady plays that I would question their reputation over.

aside from the fact that it's a scam site, I'm also shocked by this:

You should have googled or looked up at this forum before you made a deposit on bitstarz. Should have saved you a lot of trouble.

That's an expensive lesson but he can use that lesson for the next phase of his life in gambling.
This forum alone will provide you good insights on which casino is better to go to.
Check their thread and you can already get the idea how they are treating their players.
Some people will only check the background of the site once they are screwed.

This thread should move in the scam section for more awareness, there's an existing thread on this gambling site already and as long as a newbie in the Crypto gambling section is not very diligent on where to play, we will have more on this, we have done our part giving them warning they should do their part by doing diligent research.

Sorry man. You're lucky, but you weren't able to enjoy the outcome of being lucky. Anyhow what you've shared will help few of our members to stay cautious with the mentioned gambling site. Quite often I used to see this gambling site on the review sites placed on the top, and I don't know on what basis these websites gets selected. I haven't used to it, and most of the trusted platforms never get on the list. This looks like a clear manipulation by paid reviews.

Sorry for the loss. I'm just wondering if what if, you just made a small withdrawal like below 0.1 ETH, you might get it. Even with a bad reputation here in the forum, Bitstarz is still recognized as legit by the majority of review sites. In other words, they are only tagged as scammer here in Bitcointalk. It's just happened that they find a hole to forfeit your winnings.

However, not all balances should be forfeit as your deposit was coming from your own wallet. It should just be the winnings. What did they tell you about your balance? The whole balance was forfeited?

Really weird they weren't accepting these as a proof of address. Should be valid as long as the bills were under your name. Where they? And did they really tell you to walk to a street sign and take a photo? Lmao, what the hell.

Actually, the KYC was done smoothly. OP's credentials have been accepted.

However, after exchanging emails, Bitstarz now tells OP that his winnings are forfeited due to the user is not complying with the terms of the bonus. Then the site directs OP on the part of TOS where it stated.

It was unprofessional and Bitstarz is making way for OP not to able to claim his winnings. In total, 3 ETH was busted.

You should have entered this forum couple years ago mate so you have maybe find the scam accusation against this gambling site.

you are just one of the hundreds that claims them being scammed.

I don't want to do victim-blaming but why play on  BitStarz when there are existing scam accusations,
Maybe he was just New to this  forum mate and he was just created His acount today in bitcointalk so he has no idea of those scam issues.

^ It is a known scam gambling site, most of the old members here know that this gambling site has multiple scam accusations before, and surely if members here encounter this site will surely be recognized as scam gambling. I don't know why you did not have proper research before depositing your money on that site and yet, you know here in the Bitcointalk community, and probably if you know the search button you will see that there are tons of scams accusation on that gambling site. Nevertheless, on the other side, thank you for this warning and probably it will help newbies.

I know you want your scam accusation/complaint to get as much publicity as possible but please don't at a cost of violating the forum rules and making the mods do more work. one properly presented thread is enough to get attention from people, but posting the same thing on different threads that have been dead for a year or more is just plain annoying. anyway, sorry that they forfeited your winnings. that's why no matter how boring reading through the TOS it is important to do it since websites like this will continue to use it against anyone who didn't read it.

How else to warn people here who are involved in gambling should look at a legitimate and reputable gambling site before making a deposit and playing.

I'm really confused and anyone should have a little time to review the sites they want to list.

This may be a guide for others who have not already registered.

So, had a horrendous experience with Bitstarz. Wish I had done some simple searching before depositing but you live and learn. Thought i'd make this post to warn others after seeing multiple other posts here relating to Bitstarz.

I signed up and deposited 2 ETH and lost. I then deposited another 1 ETH and noticed (after already spinning some slots several times) that a bonus had automatically been applied

As the wagering requirement had already started, i moved on and didn't think to forfeit the bonus (although i am not sure whether i would have been able to at that point)

I intentionally rejected the bonus offers on the first deposit as i am aware of wagering requirements etc and was happy to use raw cash

Spun up a grand prize on Buffalo Grand and found my balance up around 22 ETH. Needless to say, i was pretty happy with that!

Remembered that the Bonus had been applied previously and upon checking the wagering requirements, saw that I had approximately 70% left to wager. Continued playing while working down this wager.

Got very luck on several slots and saw my balance now increase from 22ETH to around 26ETH. At this point, wagering requirement had been met.

Wanted to withdraw a portion of winnings so as not to burn my balance and, as i had signed up that day, thought i would start by testing 1 ETH withdrawal.

Immediately got flagged and asked for additional verification. I have played countless online crypto casinos and have never been asked for verification for withdrawals back to my wallet. I instantly felt nervous as i probably rightly assumed that the reason for this verification request was due to my now substantial balance.

The process that followed in each subsequent email and correspondence was :

1. Request for ID, Photo of me with ID, Proof of address

2. Proof of address was not accepted, sent internet bill

3. Internet bill was not accepted, sent cable TV bill

4. Was asked to walk to a street sign and take a photo of me next to it.

While waiting for this super unusual verification process, i continued playing and eventually got my balance to around 38ETH

So, this was over approximately a 16 hour period. Admittedly, I am getting more and more nervous at this stage as the unusual verification requests keep coming. It is at this point, i looked online and saw a history of issues with this casino paying out big balances.

After this strange back and forth for verification i finally received an email from them stating that all wins had been forfeited due to me not complying with the terms of the bonus. They then pointed me in the direction of the sentence covering this buried in their TOS.

A couple things, i did not accept the bonus in the first place and was intentionally avoiding taking part in the bonus. When i realised they had attached a 50% bonus to this deposit, i looked in the bonus section of their site where it shows only the wagered amount required, bonus amount etc but there is no mention of maximum bet requirements. In fact, upon closer inspection, the only way you would know about the ridiculous maximum bet requirement is by reading through the TOS.

I find this super shady and can only imagine how many people have been stung the same way.

Anyway, attached is the final email from them explaining that they have returned my 1ETH deposit and the rest of my balance (approx 37 eth) has been forfeited.

This is after customer service team made me jump through a multitude of hoops for verifying when they likely knew all along that they were going to screw me.

I understand TOS. I also understand shady practices.

I have no way to prove I did not opt into the bonus except to say, if i had intentionally accepted a bonus offer, it would not have been for a measly 50% with such a large wager requirement.

I definitely would advice strongly agains using this casino. Lack of transparency, misleading practices and TOS traps. This has been an absolute nightmare.
