Between the recent news, and very disappointing updates, I have reduced my holdings of Activemining. I am not happy with the pace relative to its competition. Things change though - we will see.

A competitor getting such credible backing takes a good chunk of the market out - it's new fair value may be only half what it stabilized at before - perhaps 0.003.

If ActM comes to market with 28nm before Avalon makes their first 20 nm chip, we have great chance.

So, yes, the party is far from over. Just the beginning. :-)
But, yeah, buyers alike were slaughtered today.

But I see it as a good news: Bitcoin mining sector gets publicity and attracts capital. It could also bring more investors over here, too...

Are You Shpongled?
I think at this point it only makes sense to sell now to cut your losses.
The truth value of the article is still dubious, after all WSJ wrote that Bitcoin was banned in Thailand when it was not the case. Even if true Avalon isn't going to be producing 20nm chips for AT LEAST 6-12 months in which time ActiveMining will get plenty of business and control a modest amount of the total hashing power.

Unless I really study this $200 million business plan then I'm not that worried. ASICMiner is valued at $160 mill and these securities were poised to realistically compete with ASICMiner. You all studied the model and business plan for these businesses, right? That is what matters. Don't get scared by the "$200 mill" number. Throwing a bunch of money at something blindly almost never works out.

It's not blind when you invest in one of the only successful producers in the sector.

I'm pulling out too, this story is popping up all over the place.

Hahaha.  Anyone else remember this other article that popped up on a WSJ owned news outlet?

Crypto is the separation of Power and State.
Man, I'd hate to be long Activemining today.  That's why I don't mess with options.

The 28nm pool is getting crowded!

Avalon story is now on the Wall Street Journal.

"Famed Trader Joe Lewis Backs Bitcoin"

The party is over folks.

The party is over? LOL! I'd say the party is just beginning! How long until a behemoth whale finds ActiveMining "interesting"? Wink

Crypto is the separation of Power and State.

Is this also fake?  Or will we be trotting a different excuse for disregarding the obvious implications?

The bids are desperately thin on bitfunder right now. If you got some free coins on BitFunder and you like ActM, put some limit orders in. Less than 15K sold to hit sub 0.004.

Just did a lil arb from BTCTC to Bitfunder, couldn't pass it up even though it took 4 hours.  The time it took actually saved me some coin tho.
