from my experience with him in PM he is not a whale.  Although, there really is no ActM whales left

I want 10k of your shares are you selling or not? You keep offering them, I say OK lets sort it out and then you don't PM me back. Do you really want to sell any of your shares???

How many shares does StuartUK have?

Why are you asking that to others on an open forum? You've pm'ed me many times so if you want to ask me something feel free, what's your point?

Any news on the CryptoTrade front?

No news yet - Ken implied it would take him at least until the end of the week coding the share transfer authorisation feature/site

Cheers, it would be nice to get an update about how the system is going.

Science!
The Crypto-Trade stage should consolidate ownership. I doubt there will be many new investors with 1k BTC prices, but existing owners will either be getting out or consolidating their positions. Either way my guess is there will be fewer Active Mining share holders on the other side of the Crypto-Trade when a colored coin solution is viable.

Serious Active Mining traders would be wise to explore the crypto-trade API now because I have worries about their server's ability to handle serious traffic: as described in the Crypto-Trade shareholder contract: "- Own 16 cores server to run the website" Perhaps since then they have created redundancies in database servers, bitcoind, web server, etc. but don't hold your breath.

Traffic issues could be mitigated to some degree by a significant time period (days) between transition of shares to Crypto-trade and re-opening of ActMining trading, but be prepared to see a lot of redirects to Koddos during initial trading.

It's like to be messy so get your swamp gear out: i.e. API calls with multiple points of origin & please use a VPN to sync your nodes to avoid HTTP POST redundancy (or you'll be contributing to the outage yourself). Serious BTCers ought to have considered such a set up for BTC/Fiat stop loss bots anyways or your simply giving cash away every time GOX / BTCChina is DDos'd and the price drop 20%.

Happy Hunting Active Miners.

CT will handle the volume fine.  CT was formed out of a server company.  That's their real forte.

I won't hold my breath based on blanket assertions—but it would be for the best if you are correct about their readiness. The API/website is a bit slow compared to what I'm used to at other alt-exchanges and that is under normal traffic. Their coind integration of deposits/withdrawals of BTC/PPC/XPM is superior in performance to Cryptsy and BTC-e who give me database/coind linkage issues all the freaking time. Honestly, I rate Crypto-Trade highly (excepting their low trade volume), I am just expecting a lot of action packed into about a 15 - 30 minute period. Be prepared and don't say you didn't have fair warning. Trading has been effectively choked since BitFunder locked out US Traders. There is massive pressure to relieve, and I suspect the balance of it is on the selling side. Crypto-Trade and their shareholders should benefit from the traffic either way.

I'm wondering how USD and other currencies can be exchanged in a decentralized manner through color coin. Or will that require Master coin or ripple? Of course this may be too off topic.

Colored Coins can be used for any virtual asset.
It seems confusing to use a colored bitcoin representing USD to buy a bitcoin because it would be a 1:1 exchange.

This has nothing to do with USD.  A colored bitcoin is just a bitcoin that has been traced and so can carry other value to it (placed on it by the original owner).
So if you have 10,000 shares, you will receive 10,000 colored satoshis from Ken
I know. I am wondering how one could decentralize an exchange like Gox or BTC-e where Bitcoins are traded for USD.

impressive.. they actually have a working version available for download.  They just need to add security to the transactions, according to the thread.
