Weekly Update 1/29/14

We now have a team of engineers and a project manager working with eASIC and our other vendors to get this project completed as soon as posible.  We are expecting to add 1 to 2 Petahashs of mining in Q2.

Quote
Questions:

Have you had any sample chips at any point? If so, did they work?

No

Quote
Huh When are sample chips expected? Sample, low volume and normal production estimate dates?

We have changed the 28nm to a full custom to be more competitive.  We now have a full team, engineer and project manager working on pushing the 28nm project as fast as we can.

Quote
Huh How long do you expect board design and production to take?

We will have the board ready when we have the 55nm chips, the design will be used on the 28nm chips also.

Quote
Huh In your progress report of November 30th 2013 you stated "We have this last week shipped our first products to customers." - What product was shipped?

We shipped some accessories products to India.

Quote
What reason caused the change of plans and alteration of schedule? Were your initial timeline commitments too optimistic or was there a catastrophic failure? (if so, what?)

No, the timeline was not too optimistic and there was not a catastrophic failure.  In September with bitcoins @ 140, with competition with 400 GH/s and 500 GH/s chips our machines would not ROI, so a decision was made that we would have to refund all of our pre-orders, so we did not commit a lot of our funds to building boards, we was also trying to get enough pre-orders to make our minimum lot with eASIC.

Quote
If you are still at the design phase now, what have you been doing for the last 6-8 months?

We now have a competed design, so we are not in the design phase now.  Finding the right engineers, transferring shares from BTC-TC, legal problems with the Bitfunder shutdown, making sure that when we spun up our chip it would work, fighting all the FUD on bitcointalk, etc.

Quote
Are you in a position to be able to refund your customers every penny or have you spent some of the pre-order money? (Partially answered by Bargraphics trip report)

We have the funds to refund 100% of our pre-orders.

Quote
Is preorder money converted to BTC or kept as fiat?

Pre-Orders in fiat are keep in fiat at the moment.

Quote
Up until a week or so ago, Ken was telling people if they ordered TODAY they would receive a miner in feb/march - Is this still the case?

No,

Quote
Huh Ken mentioned additional hashrate came online in November, what machines were those?

CEX.IO

Quote
When was the new engineering firm engaged?

December

Quote
Can you give us a rough timeline of the full design and creation process, where we were set back, and what part of the process flow we are looping back over now.

Yes, we expect the 55nm chips in Q2, 28nm in Q3.  Our RTL is complete.

Quote
Is there a problem with eASIC's 28nm process?

No, but due to competitive reasons we had to move to a full custom 28nm

Quote
Did we face delays because Intellihash is being incorporated or is it because the boards weren't designed properly to begin with?

No, Intellihash did require some code to be added, but there were other reasons also that required some code to be written.

Quote
Who exactly is the Engineering Firm that was hired, and how long ago did this hiring take place?

We no long release the name of our vendors, due to some investors and customers bugging them.  We hired them in December and it took a couple of weeks.  We had to learn some lessons from the first engineers we hired.

Quote
Can you summarize your meetings with eASIC and the PCB engineers?

No, that would be under NDA with eASIC and NDA with the engineers.

Just think how good you're going to feel when Ken finally types a few lines...
I mean, you don't think he *forgot* to post, do you?

1) It is a sad coincidence that some troll who was here before me happens to have used a handle similar to mine.

2) It is sad that ZumZero gets so angry at simple statements.

3) I merely continually point out that some people are imagining earnings and profits and situations based upon made up data

4) I WANT the CEO of Active Mining to succeed.

5) I WANT Active Mining to announce trading.

6) I WANT the stock price to go high based upon profits from mining our own machines.

7) I just find it stupid to continually imagine what could happen and what might happen based upon imagine data.

8 ) If ZumZero has a temper tantrum because I continually insist that the CEO of Active Mining be more open and honest and provide a real time table for completion of various goals, then it is a sad statement on his level of maturity.

9) The CEO of Active Mining owes us, share holders, a reasonable timetable.  The CEO of Active Mining needs to be accountable.

10) It is early evening in the USA and the CEO of Active Mining has not provided his promised weekly report.

Personally I have got a lot from your contributions and am happy for them to continue.  I would caution you from getting drawn in by the trolls that's all.

take a step back and see the big picture.

Over the past two days I've raised some detailed points about KnC's 20nm Neptune offering, UMC (which no-one has mentioned), the differences between our 55nm and our 28nm product (also largely ignored), the fair pricing of our stock using a Dividend Yield formula, the Ukyo share issue, global foundry capacity (20nm vrs larger die sizes), problems with 20nm and non-scaleable components, the addition of the 55nm chip to our portfolio at no cost, Friedcats 40nm chip project.

If that isn't seeing the bigger picture then what is? Who else is asking these questions or making these points on here? I think if you have been reading over the past two days you would be vastly more informed about our place in the market and potential than if you read all of last weeks pages and that is due in some part to my postings. Maybe I'm delusional, it sure seems no-one thinks I'm doing anything worthwhile so I'll give it up. Good luck with your investment.

You used to be to most vocal about not feeding the trolls to the point of raising your voice to people on occasion.

Yes and I agree with that which is why I don't talk about cats unlike yourself. I just tackle directly the points that are being made with short rebuttals containing facts. If no serious point needs cleared up I don't respond.

When an apparently genuine accusation of a scam is made you can't just delete that post, it needs to be examined. Spam should be deleted but what looks like genuine complaints should not be deleted because new investors will see that as a red-flag. We need to be open and honest and if you want the wider community to take ACtM seriously you need to layout the facts and keep banging them home.

most important point you make bolded above.  this also means dont speculate on BTC over $5000, dont take a $40,000,000 projected sales figure as truth just because someone said it, etc etc etc.  you have hitched your ride to this wagon that we've all been waiting for the engine to be dropped in for close to a year now.  take a step back and see the big picture.  Avalon reported a total sales of 6 PH of their chips (110nm and 55nm combined) as of 1/15/14.  that's 1/3 of total global hash rate.  and they reported they arent slowing down because the demand is still so high.  they have reported release of their new 3rd gen chips soon, with the next 4th gen project in development.  they have all the info needed for mounting chips readily available.  THIS is what we need to be pushing Ken to do, if the chips are ever to be a success.  we need to know that he has thought this project through this far.  that if/when the chips are ready he doesnt end up with a bunch of chips and no plan to get rid of them en mass.

Just give it some thought and do the right thing.

Edit:  up to Panel 2 Day 1 so far.  Charles Lee is explaining Colored Coins to the NYDFS.  They seem very responsive and positive overall...

For what it's worth I think there is a lot of truth in iSnow's comments.  Listening to people who are on your side is no bad thing.

iSnow, I'm not stopping anyone from posting.

You are muting everyone else with noise. Joining in does not help at all, it just makes the problem worse. The few quality posts get lost among fluff and the same questions get asked again and again because no one scans 480+ pages for answers.

Arguing with trolls makes things even worse even faster (http://www.howtoarguewithanidiot.com/). And because you swallow every bait hook, line, and sinker and reply, you pretty much keep crumbs et al. here. You actually lower the quality of this thread by proxy.

I implore you to stop defending Ken. Let his actions speak, everything else just helps damage this company.

Actually that guy has been spamming the same message since January 23rd. The identical same post, he's posted it in multiple threads. Looks like rather strange behaviour.

The only other two people I've seen mention a refund request got them processed with no problems.

I don't see any issue atall. If there was I would be the first to make a scene and everyone else on this thread would also make a scene because we expect this company to act professionally. And on all counts it has done so.

Every company gets complaints sent to consumer protection - that's business. More often than not it's due to irrational customers or customers who have not contacted the correct phone number/email address or misplaced letters etc etc. There is no-way this customer phoned VMC for a month and couldn't get through. Everyone else gets through first time including myself. And I don't have a special phone, it's just a regular one...with numbers on it.

Why not drop by his Scam Accusations thread and rage at him?  I agree there's something fishy about the guy - would a normal d00d order from Ken in the first place? Smiley

I'd suggest that you are overlooking two things here;

1) Ken does a pretty good job of removing unwelcome posts for that very reason
2) Crumbs will ALWAYS respond to your replies to him.  If you always reply to him then we have a feedback loop which creates more content for 1)

EDIT:  You used to be to most vocal about not feeding the trolls to the point of raising your voice to people on occasion.

Zumzero:

Yes that's why I'm not quoting him.

Potential new investors will read all posts and these semi-sensibly presented accusations of criminality need a brief reply. When it's so easy to rebut this non-sense it's no problem for me, so no thanks are required.

iSnow, I'm not stopping anyone from posting. Feel free to join in. By the way if you feel my posts have no value that's your right.

Look minerpart, I know you mean well, but could you not like... let other people talk too?

You are completely hogging this thread as of late, and I believe in trying to defend ActM, you are actually doing a disservice. For once because some of your points really don't hold water, and also and even more important because trying to drown out everyone else makes a really bad impression.

Back when drawingthesun got his panties in a bunch constantly, we told him to take a walk now and then and stop posting excessively. I really think you should do the same, you are actually becoming part of the noise that detracts from signal here.

Does minerpart realise that everyone apart from him has crumbs on ignore and as a result, we are having to read an enormous minerpart monologue?
