however, the most appropriate thing to do before investing is to do some research. because it will minimize the risk rather than just guessing. if you do it without doing without research, then it's like risking your assets on something you don't know about.

The big risk behind when investing in new project, most of the time the developers are too greedy. A good business to earn quick money and it's the best way for scammers to take huge amount of money out from the pocket of many newcomers and unaware regarding to this business. New project might give you a decent amount of profits only if you ride in the perfect timing, which is very slim in this industry.

If you are investing in a new project, only put in what you are willing to lose and make sure that the team is doxxed and any contracts are audited. Some projects I am looking to invest in are SUI and MAXX Finance and Lamina1. MAXX finance will also have a free claim if you hold MATIC for example.

Do not invest in any DEX listed currency for invitation only. Do your research and locked liquidity is a plus point. Ofcourse check contract address.
Never deposit your money to unknown exchange. The scammer will show you a large price difference for a popular currency on two different exchanges. One is popular like Binance and another is unknown. Then they ask to buy that coin from Binance and sell it on that unknown exchange. Beaware from them.
If someone asks you to help them withdraw money, and says it's banned in their country and they offer you a good percentage for this work. Don't trust them. This is a common trap, the site will ask for a minimum deposit when you try to withdraw.

That's like gambling your money when you invest the new coins that aren't been there for the last years because most of them are pump and dump coins that are only created to lure those who are rushing to make a big profit in crypto. Once they took the bait, they will gonna dump their coins and leave you with countless reasons to believe they will gonna comeback which is their last moment to talk to you before leaving. It was before and most of the new projects before were easier to got accepted into exchanges and you could pretty much grabbed quick profit once they hit exchanges before the price went to the ground. But for today, it's not likely going to happen anymore with so many scammers around and it's almost like everyone's day they get fed up with scams and their investment worth nothing.

It is possible to make good profits from Investing in new projects because there might be some of them that could really do good in the market if they have good products however, we should also know that investing in new projects can make you loos your investments too as some of them might just be smoke screen even with putting out good roadmaps and what looks like a good product. So, some investors will like to invest a little amount on a new project and more on what is already established.

Yeah, that is what I also think but it is quite hard to find gem altcoins nor distinguish them from the pile of shitcoins out there. the target of OP should be the newly launched potential altcoins or the one that is to be launched where he can participate in the pre-selling (before the actual crowdfunding) but the problem is the potential of that projects. So I still advise OP to invest in the top 50 cryptocurrencies on CMC. Be at a look at the potential projects that had dropped around 90% of their value from its ATH.

It will be the best time to buy altcoins that could ride with the price of Bitcoin when the market goes back to normal. There's still a risk with top coins but they can surely survive the bearish season and reach a good price when the bull market comes.
