The Super Eagles are not just lacking luck but they are lacking so many things that are bringing set back to them. Football is not all about luck sometimes, their are some certain things that are necessary for a team to possess. Super eagles needs to work very hard to be what they used to be like before.

I won't say luck because they didn't play so well that you should expect luck to play in their favour, I'm assuming you're taking about the games that lead to the world cup that's the world cup qualifiers. That was the last time I saw the Super Eagles playing badly, after then their performances so far has been very decent especially under this new coach. They're currently topping their group with the best goal difference in the whole tournament and not just their group.

They're are steadily improving and the transfer window has been favoring the Super Eagles player as they're getting good club interest. And with good playing time at club level will result to better exposure, it'll give the players more experience that they can use to dominate the domestic tournaments in Africa. We just have to give this guys times.

Their matches do not give me any joy, instead it causes me stress and my blood pressure to rise.

You should pick interest back in watching the Super eagle play though as we missing out of the World cup could be a good thing as it gives the coach time to build the team he wants.

Let them keep playing, and doing it well also. I know with time I can go back to watching them. I did not stop watching them because they were not winning games but because of their lack of seriousness on the field of play. I hate people not taking what they do serious.

Even though i am not nigerian but i was really disapointed from their result in the last african cup of nations

Nigeria's outing at the AFCON is enough to disappoint anyone who loves the Super Eagles of Nigeria. The team disappointed when it was time to come to the party. And after that, the Eagles messed up their qualifiers in the second leg with Ghana for the world cup in Qatar.
Me too i stopped being a football fan since money became the major aspect of football, profesional players became well payed that they lost their passion for football, not to mention that some mediocre player are worth million of dollars i find it really surprising how a defender like maguire is worth more than a defender like maldini the only reason i am still following football is because of gambling.
Unfortunately, the soccer games and all the soccer tournaments that are held have become a clear business model where a lot of money is earned, what I never liked was the fixed games, it is obvious that there were many fixed games when everything was uncovered that was in evidence that the parties at the national and international level suffer from all the interests that are from many corporations and apart from many characters that are clearly "important" African football as well as that of any continent corruption will always be the common denominator, it is something that must be learned to live.

I’m withdrawing my attention from super eagles to the super falcons. I'm really expecting a lot from the Super Falcons. This is one of our strongest teams, they are playing for big teams in Europe and have wealth of experience. They have everything to go all the way. The Super Falcons are in the same group with South Africa, they managed to beat them last time in a penalty shootout. More concern on the fact that the super Falcons played a 1-1 draw against Bayelsa Queens. How well can they compete against teams in Africa if they can’t beat the domestic league champions easy.
Super Falcons tends to do well in African women soccer competitions, however when it comes to the big stage Female World Cup they flopped despite the fact that some of this girls play professional football in Europe and USA, I am expecting the team to continue with their dominance of African soccer in the upcoming WAFCON in Morrocco luckily they are in an easy group comprising of Burundi, Botswana and South Africa which is the only country that pose a challenge to the Super Falcons, all eyes will be on the duo of Asisat Oshoala and Rasheedat Ajibade Primera Division Spanish based players to shine.
The super falcons of Nigeria have been doing great representing the nation internationally and dominating African football however their performance in the World Cup has not been on same level when they play in Africa despite having some big names like Asisat Oshoala and Rasheedat, I can't tell what the problem could be, probably the team isn't so good enough to win the world cup.

I know that what I am going to say is an ambiguous statement, but I think that what the eagles have lacked is a lot of luck, because they play very well, or it may be that they are failing in the most important thing, the most important thing in every athlete is the confidence, security, it seems that they think they don't deserve it and that happens a lot, but if they had the self-esteem of a Brazil? of a France? Germany, let each player believe it, things would change.

There is no reason why good players from the NPFL should not be drafted into the national team. We only value our players when they are signed for big clubs in Europe that's when we want them to play for the country.

Well this is why I campaign for indigenous managers to manage our national team. When a coach is from that nationality, it's easier to introduce the local prayers from our national league to the nation squad but when the coach is foreign, he seems to concentrate on foreign players etc. When we look back at history, the only coach that was good at doing this was Stephen Keshi and he was a local coach and he won us our last trophy in 2013.

Also the scouting department has to be questions here because I doubt, If they were doing their job well, we'll be having this discussion here. It doesn't totally depends on the coach to fin players, the department of scouting should be responsible for that. The coach only has to test them to see if they fit into his game plan Them use them frequently.
Stephen keshi is just a gifted coach that has the qualities of a good coach, he is one of the best coach the Super Eagles has ever had.apart from Stephen keshi their are other indigenous coaches that have managed the league, coach like olisah,  Augustus egueavon this men were incompetent in their work.  Nigeria football is not only a problem of coach , the problem is mainly is mainly politics and bad leadership in the team.
Nigerian fans are a difficult lot to please, Stephen Keshi did a great job with the super eagles in the past, really made good impact in his time as the super eagles manager, creating records and achievements for the nation and his legacy will always be remembered. The problem in the Nigerian football association is not just bad coaches but politics and bad leadership and until we begin to experience a change, this problems will remain and restrict progress for the super eagles.

The nigeria team has a lot of challenges that they are facing. The politics in the nigeria football federation is the biggest problem in the nigeria football,  it affects choosing a coach for the team, it also affect bringing talented players who are good for the job . Because of the politics involved in nigeria football federation players are selected based on connections and not of talent.

The corruption is so strong you could smell it from a mile away. We have young talents with great potentials in the Nigeria Professional Football League but it's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for the corrupt managments to pick a player from the Nigerian league. We have fantastic players like *Mbaoma from Enyimba who is the highest goal scorer in this season followed by Akuneto from Rivers United and Abdulazeez from Gombe United. These players and many could be groomed to player at a higher efficiency but they are over looked. It makes me sick to my stomach whenever I hear of one scandal from the NFF or the other.

The cycle is old, corruption starts from the Nigerian professional football league to the Nigerian football federation. It pains me that players from the NPFL are not given a chance in the national team.  There is no reason why good players from the NPFL should not be drafted into the national team. The super eagles loose again to Ecuador with a 1-0 score line,, the game has no importance given the fact that's it's a friendly game,, but momentum is supposed to be built given that it's a new head coach ,,but I believe the coach has all the time at his disposal to bring the team back to winning ways before the fans begins to grow frustration,,  we need to build momentum against our upcoming qualifying matches be it afcon or next world cup,,  the super eagles just needs consistency ,, so we can build a team to compete with the likes of Senegal in Africa and other European and South American football power house,, and maybe move up ton the FIFA rankings,, all departments of the teams needs improvement.the NFF needs to give it's full backing to the coaching staffs physically, materially and financially in other to build a good a d strong team..

We also have to admit that the current quality of Ecuador is so extraordinary where they successfully strolled into the Qatar world cup this year. Of course, the defeat that was received by Nigeria against Ecuador was a natural thing, especially since the match was titled a friendly match. himself before they competed in the Africa cup qualifiers although currently Augustine has enough homework to fix as strong as Nigeria after failing to qualify for this year's itching at the hands of the previous coach of course the African grasshopper is the hope for them to be able to compete in 2023 later

I think that Nigeria has a great team, but that the players do not understand each other on the field, this is something that they have to correct now, to have an idea Ecuador is a country whose football has grown a lot, it is very similar to Colombian football In fact, they had a great Colombian coach who helped them a lot to qualify for the World Cup and this has been going on for years, the Ecuadorians used to be a team that hardly went to the World Cups, now they have had the good fortune to go to the last of the The South American classification was a bit complicated for them, but finally the results were given to them, now they have some problems because of a player who may put going to the World Cup in check.

Yes, I would agree with you that the lack of communication and connection within the Super Eagles camp is an issue that needs attention. These players need to be camped earlier than the expected date, giving time to get to know themselves to create that connection and also we need to have a stable squad not changing the squad every year and starting all over again, let it be that we are having few additions from time to time not changing the team every year. This will even help the coach to know and understand his players better.

I believe that I have already said it that the new coach will take some time, and we should not expect much from him immediately as preparing an international team is always a difficult job. Lastly I feel that he’ll be doing his homework on the above mentioned issues, and we’ll have to give him few more games to prove himself because I feel that it’s unfair to judge him so soon in his tenure.
Yes, you are right, but the Nigerian Federation should give the coach a good chance, sometimes it is not so easy to join a team where he does not know all his leagues very well, from the academy to the professionals, I know that the players of now They are the ones who will show their faces from the next year for the qualifiers for the next World Cup, but for now they have to know everything, I would focus on looking for the U-20 players, because they are young and most likely they will have enough impact because they are players who mostly come without fear and with great talent, and I would form a team with more young players than veteran players.

The level of corruption is so high and swept across the nation and even the Nigerian Football Federation, and to curb this problem it will only be advisable to fight against these problems in the NFF particularly putting stop to favoritism, bribery and curruption in the player selection process and funding expenses relating to player welfare. We should also focus on building and scouting  talents from the grassroot to represent the nation that way we will improve and do better.
The name Giant of Africa is just a slogan, cause we are not working according to the name. The Nigeria football federation (NFF) is full of corruption and favoritism, they only value players playing in most of the European clubs, they don't give way to the young players to see if they can perform to our expectations.
-snip-

The Nigerian football team is not going to improve at all if it is plagued with corruption and favoritism. A lot of important personnel need to be changed. And punish him so that it is made to send a message. Currently, they are not doing so good right now as well. This really needs to change otherwise the team is not going to improve.

Well I know that sometimes we feel very helpless for everything that is experienced in football, not only in life do we see injustices, but we must also emphasize that FIFA has attacked all acts of corruption, the case can be presented through a delegate of the team so that the case can be studied by FIFA, if there is enough evidence, I think it could be considered and the pertinent measures taken.

Join hands and help me to grow everybody...

Being the Giant of Africa,  literally Nigeria is not getting it right when it comes to footballing both in Africa and across the world.
Which I think the problem is in the management system the ( Nigerian Football federation NFF) partiality , bribery and curruption in selecting quality and talented players needed to do the job and coupled with the way in which the government treats the players during and after their football careers and compare them with how they treat players in other countries, which I think it's the most discouraging point for the players not giving their best when it comes to playing for the country.
Because you might have good coach but not having the right players willing to give their best in order get positive results due to above reasons.
Just look at a lot of wasted talented players across the country. Nigeria in summary is a place where dreams of talented players are buried.

another thing that affect football team is politics when there's a much politics in football team that country does not survive it because what football or soccer needs to be survive is coordination and the sincerity then talking of Nigeria team Nigeria is facing challenges but in a political way and also in football club team you cannot see a good player of of Nigeria how is playing in nice club that will return and play forNigerian country football team because the country itself is not harmonize for their player to be courage's

It isn't the first time, 2006 FIFA world cup in Germany was the first time Nigeria failed to qualify for the world cup and guess who was the coach then, just sacked coach Augustine Eguavoen. This guy has a curse of not qualifying us to the world cup but in other news it is a good thing we didn't qualify because what would be the outcome, it's still disappointment as all the other world cup we have played there's nothing to show for it.

When it comes to the AFCON as well, we're no where to be found as the last time we won it was 2013 and that's 9 year's ago. Maybe having this time off will give us enough time to regroup and come back as a better squad and this new coach is giving me the feeling he might just be the right man for the Job.

Their matches do not give me any joy, instead it causes me stress and my blood pressure to rise.
When it comes to watching the Super Eagles games, I believe a high percentage of the fans are tired of given their time and devotion to games that turn out to bring heart break and anger to them. It always ends in premium tears watching the super eagles games.

That means am not the only one who has discovered that the Super Eagles of Nigeria no longer show a winning mentality on the pitch of play. There is nothing they want to play for again. No pride to defend Nigeria's football integrity. Nothing whatsoever. They already think themselves millionaires doing the country a favour by playing. The days of Christian Chukwu, Rasheed Yekini, Daniel Omokachi, Finidi and the rest of the Atlanta 96 squad were the glory days of Nigeria football. Big footballing countries panicked to even play the Super Eagles but that is not so any more now. It does not matter the coach they bring in, the boys continue to feel too big bringing out their legs. It is the mentality of the players and that has to change. I like how Samuel Eto is sounding the warning to members of the Cameroon team that they should sit up or leave the team. And I think Nigeria should do the same.
It is so bad to see professional players who are supposed to be happy and playing for their nation with pride because that should be were your loyalty lies. When you are invested to represent your nation and you feel too big and already made so much that you feel you are doing ypur nation a favour, that mentality alone is enough distraction. Back in the 1990s players were so happy and played with pride. I hope the new coach will can change this situation in the team.

I will not put all the blame on the Super Eagles players for not performing well and unable to win trophies. The reason for super eagles players backwardness,  the super eagles management are not encouraging the players financially and not been taking care of well . Most of the players don't have passion playing for the national team .

Anyway, for the African teams that qualified for the World Cup, we will see how far they will be there.

I have very high expectation of the Ghanaian team. They played to well in the qualifying stages and they have one of the best teams in Africa. So ,yes I expect that they put up a fight real good to the round of 16. In the group stage they have already been paired with Portugal, South-Korea and Uruguay. Strong teams to test their resolve. The players that would be called up needs to be actively playing for their clubs. Players who are not older than 28. They need to have speed and be run and quick passes. Above they need to someone who can put the ball at the back of the net. Eddie Nketiah is someone that comes to mind.
Ghana performance in the world cup qualifiers was outstanding, they played so well to qualify, the black stars are well known as one of the best team in Africa and i think they will perform so well in the world cup. Though the black stars need to be more serious in this competition, cause alot of teams are very serious when it comes to the world cup, they really need to work on their Frontline bring in consistent and young players that can represent them so well in the world cup, cause they will face alot of strong nation's in the world cup and it won't be a easy game all through.
