When it comes to watching the Super Eagles games, I believe a high percentage of the fans are tired of given their time and devotion to games that turn out to bring heart break and anger to them. It always ends in premium tears watching the super eagles games. For instance in the world cup qualifiers, we all felt the team was different and things have changed and the team was back to top form but see how it turned out in the end, disappointment again. Thats the problem here. Anyways we shall see If things will be better under the new manager.
Apart from the USA 94 World Cup team and the Atlanta 96 Olympic team, other Super Eagles team from then have always brought disappointment. I believed so much in the last Nations Cup because of there group stage performance but they ended up shattering my dreams and hope. But the Super Eagles is my national team and I can do nothing about it. At least the 10-0 win recently is a sign that Nigerians would keep smiling from now henceforth. Although the team have not improved so much but I am very hopeful that Nigeria would reclaim it's top form in the world football stage.

Their matches do not give me any joy, instead it causes me stress and my blood pressure to rise.

Best you don't watch it then, there were some matches I stopped watching as I don't expect much from those matches and others I enjoy watching, knowing the players won't disappoint me as the match will be interesting. You should pick interest back in watching the Super eagle play though as we missing out of the World cup could be a good thing as it gives the coach time to build the team he wants.

The world cup would had been a distraction as fans would had expected so much from an unprepared coach and probably we won't have gotten the new coach assuming the previous coach qualified us for the world cup. Maybe everything is working together for the good if the national team, lets just relax and watch.

Let them keep playing, and doing it well also. I know with time I can go back to watching them. I did not stop watching them because they were not winning games but because of their lack of seriousness on the field of play. I hate people not taking what they do serious.

Even though i am not nigerian but i was really disapointed from their result in the last african cup of nations

Nigeria's outing at the AFCON is enough to disappoint anyone who loves the Super Eagles of Nigeria. The team disappointed when it was time to come to the party. And after that, the Eagles messed up their qualifiers in the second leg with Ghana for the world cup in Qatar.
Me too i stopped being a football fan since money became the major aspect of football, profesional players became well payed that they lost their passion for football, not to mention that some mediocre player are worth million of dollars i find it really surprising how a defender like maguire is worth more than a defender like maldini the only reason i am still following football is because of gambling.

In the world of football any thing can happen, an underdog can come out victorious at the end. I wouldn't write off anyone though. Nigeria is the strongest in Africa but they failed to qualify. Anyone who is able to qualify is worthy and should represent the continent. We just have to support them and wish them well.

Nigeria isn't the strongest county in Africa continent neither are the weakest. When it comes to AFCON competition, Egypt are the strongest after winning it a record number of seven and even won it for three years straight (if I'm not mistaking). For world cup competition, Senegal has gone the farest more than any other African nation. The highest Nigeria has gone is the round of sixteen which they usually end up getting knockout by Argentina.

In the knockout qualifiers Nigeria wasn't the strongest opponent, Ghana has a number against Nigeria. In all their head to head meetings, Ghana has the highest number of win as they always found a win to win Nigeria so their win wasn't a surprised as well.
When they same Nigeria is the strongest in Africa, these rankings don't only come from performance of the male senior team but also the women team as well as the youth teams and we know the super falcons and under 21s, 19s and 17s do very well compared to the senior team so I think the highest performance and boost to the country comes from those other teams as well.

I think Nigeria is one of the strongest teams in Africa. They are able to play well against European and American teams. On the other hand, teams like Tunisia, Cameroon, and Morocco will not be able to put up a strong resistance against European or American teams. My guess is that all the teams in Africa except Senegal will be eliminated in the first round. Although Ghana is good enough, but I don't think they can beat Group H's Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea.

Nigeria was a strong team and not now,  a team that their performance is below standard can not be consider to be a strong team. Football is unpredictable and sometimes teams make little mistakes that can cause them to lose a game, but if these mistakes continues in every game I see it as the level of performance of that team. Nigeria was a good team, right now the team is struggling to come up .

With the current team players Nigeria have, you can’t say they don’t have more than enough standard to be considered as a good team. The players are there and they are doing greatly well. The only issue I think here is that they don’t have the coach to make use of this players the right way. They’ve more than enough talented players that can play well in all competitions, they just don’t have the good manager yet.

If they are talented it will be seen in their performances , and I don't think just because their is no good coach it will affect the performances of the player drastically.  The problem from the players are there, no good coach can also be a problem too , let not see reasons for not performing as only the problem for not having good coach.

I thought Algeria was the strongest along with Egypt? I know that they were the top 2 favorites in the last Afcon tournament, even though Senegal won it, and also qualified for World Cup at the expense of Egypt, but they were only 3rd or 4th favorite.

Algeria really really disappointed a lot of people (including me) so I do remember them being top, and had some magnificent players in Europe as Riyad Mahrez comes to mind.

Nigeria's hammering of Sao Tome is a positive one but not a kind of victory that should be celebrated for a long time... ofcos it is the biggest win in Nigeria's history in a competitive game but considering the FIFA rankings of Sao Tome compared to that of the super eagles of Nigeria Sao Tome are a weaker team compared to the super eagles..it's a positive start for the coach most especially for the three points the team got in the Afcon qualifiers and topping the group table by 10+ goals difference...but we need to get prepared and use the same approach or even or best approach to every game remaining in this Afcon qualifiers... We need to keep the team spirit high and learn from our Afcon and worldcup failure this year ...it's going to be a tough start but at the end something really beautiful is expected
Sao Tome is a small team compared to the Nigerian Super eagles team but a win is a win should be celebrated. The boys showed hunger for goal and hunger for victory breaking the long winless streak with a 10 goal to nil performance that really shows something different we have not seen in a long while because we always struggle to win even easy matches so this shows improvement and also a big win for the new coach and a positive start now they have to work on being consistent.

The super eagles loose again to Ecuador with a 1-0 score line,, the game has no importance given the fact that's it's a friendly game,, but momentum is supposed to be built given that it's a new head coach ,,but I believe the coach has all the time at his disposal to bring the team back to winning ways before the fans begins to grow frustration,,  we need to build momentum against our upcoming qualifying matches be it afcon or next world cup,,  the super eagles just needs consistency ,, so we can build a team to compete with the likes of Senegal in Africa and other European and South American football power house,, and maybe move up ton the FIFA rankings,, all departments of the teams needs improvement.the NFF needs to give it's full backing to the coaching staffs physically, materially and financially in other to build a good a d strong team..

We also have to admit that the current quality of Ecuador is so extraordinary where they successfully strolled into the Qatar world cup this year. Of course, the defeat that was received by Nigeria against Ecuador was a natural thing, especially since the match was titled a friendly match. himself before they competed in the Africa cup qualifiers although currently Augustine has enough homework to fix as strong as Nigeria after failing to qualify for this year's itching at the hands of the previous coach of course the African grasshopper is the hope for them to be able to compete in 2023 later

I think that Nigeria has a great team, but that the players do not understand each other on the field, this is something that they have to correct now, to have an idea Ecuador is a country whose football has grown a lot, it is very similar to Colombian football In fact, they had a great Colombian coach who helped them a lot to qualify for the World Cup and this has been going on for years, the Ecuadorians used to be a team that hardly went to the World Cups, now they have had the good fortune to go to the last of the The South American classification was a bit complicated for them, but finally the results were given to them, now they have some problems because of a player who may put going to the World Cup in check.

Yes, I would agree with you that the lack of communication and connection within the Super Eagles camp is an issue that needs attention. These players need to be camped earlier than the expected date, giving time to get to know themselves to create that connection and also we need to have a stable squad not changing the squad every year and starting all over again, let it be that we are having few additions from time to time not changing the team every year. This will even help the coach to know and understand his players better.

I believe that I have already said it that the new coach will take some time, and we should not expect much from him immediately as preparing an international team is always a difficult job. Lastly I feel that he’ll be doing his homework on the above mentioned issues, and we’ll have to give him few more games to prove himself because I feel that it’s unfair to judge him so soon in his tenure.

The super eagles of Nigeria we just have to look for a starting point and take the rest from there...with the experience of the coach I think he has something positive to bring for the team..And the the players from the heart break of the Afcon and world cup disappointment..He needs time and I think from now til the Afcon proper is enough time for the team to buy into his ideas and tactics... Scouting home grown players should also be his priority as to improve the quality of the team because our league here in Niger Nigeria have players and personalities that can Excell putting on the famous green and white jersey.. appropriate and quality friendly matches should be fixed for the team in order to test their ability to that of an advanced and good team..

Nigeria’s new head coach, Jose Peseiro, has recorded his first win as Super Eagles beat Sierra Leonian national team 2:1 in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier. Peseiro guided the three-time African champions to a victory over Sierra Leone at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. I am sure Nigeria would do better in the AFCON 2023, based on their arrangements and schedule.

The attack of the Super eagle are hungry for goals and Osimhen wants to break that record that's so poor and doesn't represent the nation as a footballing county. Imagine just 37 goals is our higher goal record for most international goal held by Rasheed Yekini.

You are correct that the win means alot to the team eventhough I do not see it as a big deal. I will be very happy if the Super Eagles will still repeat this hunger for goals you mentioned with bigger teams that are reputable for football. They can not only show strength and force when small unfootballing countries are paired with them, they have to show it with majors too. The Super Eagles have been disappointing the nation for a long time. Their matches do not give me any joy, instead it causes me stress and my blood pressure to rise.

Anything I realized Nigeria isn't participation in the world cup, it sadden my soul especially as it's our rival that kicked us out of the tournament. It's not surprised that Ghana could knock Nigeria out of the qualifiers because then the Nigeria professional football players were playing badly they could not even score a goal at the Ghanaian home but when they came over to Nigeria thyyhasd a game played and followed it.

They just had to scored then defense which they did very well. We just have to wait until the AFCON 2023 qualifiers resume to watch our boys play and thankfully our players are now playing good football even though it's too early to judge them but I believe they are desperate to win some silver wears.
It is a pity that Nigeria didn't qualify. I blame the mode for qualification of the African teams. All African teams have to go through the final knock-out duels where Nigeria had a close encounter with Ghana but subsequently lost due the away goal rule. I am sure that Nigeria would have beaten almost all other of the final 10 teams (except maybe Senegal) and qualify for the World Cup. I doubt that teams like Cameroon or Tunisia will show a good performance like Nigeria would have shown at the World Cup, but maybe they can surprise us.
