Nevertheless, the Super Falcons really defended this trophy and we take solace in the fact that they have qualified for the FIFA female World Cup.
The world cup has always been the bigger picture, It is good that we were able to qualify for the world cup before these unexpected turn of events. I never pictured or could have predicted that their game against Morocco gets extended into the penalties even after the red cards, i thought it was over then for the falcons, but they proved to be an even better and more resilient team with the dogged display they still put up.

These Ladies show more team spirit than our super eagles, there is no doubt that they will get so far in the world cup.

Superb performance by the Super Falcons. They lost the semi-finals match as heroins. The were in perfect control of the game even after the first red card. The second red card disorganized the attack and put much pressure on the midfield and defense, but they fought gallantry and took the game to penalty shootout. The first red card was controversial because I am yet to see the reason for that. But the second one was justifiable because it was a dangerous tackle. Nevertheless, the Super Falcons really defended this trophy and we take solace in the fact that they have qualified for the FIFA female World Cup.

I have commented on this in the past, what is happening in Africa is that the leaders of the teams, the leaders of associations and federations are mostly people linked to the political party that is running the country and the private companies that sponsor the teams are also people linked to the political party that ran the country, then there is the most shocking and sad part that more than 50% of teams in Africa are sponsored by government companies only. You can already imagine that the government manipulates everything even in sport they are with their tentacles manipulating sport. Our salvation is that many clubs in Europe look for talents from Africa and take them to play in big clubs in Europe and thanks to that we can have a chance to reach international competitions and not be a total shame even though we don't even have any chance to win things like the world cup.
I am understanding your all concern about this but sadly here we have no good chance for having professionalism and things go into positive way instead of having things which are creating more feud and mess up.

Right now, too many players or their parents feeling better about things they try to shift into Europe for better future of their kid or game which is the biggest regret for me because if we can bring some transparency and have better environment.

We can change things here locally but sadly too many conflicts which are here for years not settled even more new are rising by these corrupt politicians and their agents which are eating this all and not allowing us to have some better future for our kids and ourselves.

I don't think roughness of a game is something we African are concerned about. Infact if a game isn't rough enough many fans won't get the spirit to uplift the players with their chanting. Did you watch the AFCON tournament, it was full of violence play. In a match that Senegal played, I remember watching Mane get kicked severally that he almost got a concussion but refused to leave the pitch and continue playing. African football is known for its physically so provided they can keep it professional, it's welcomed.

If Nigeria male match is giving you high blood pleasure, go watch our lady play. They just secured their world cup slots and semifinals in the ongoing women AFCON. I also saw a reporter that those two qualifications earned them $1 million dollars but can't confirm that story.
Few years back I was regular fan of African Soccer because I was feeling they are going through just like we have in South America too much roughness and having some tough challenges for opponents even many times fans are having tough things for opponent players which was big concern because they need to be some polite as this game still need some more time for having big name around the globe.

Recently we have some good number of players are doing amazing job in UEFA and now this is surely big development they need to learn things from there in near future we will have more success and achievements waiting for us now just after four months we have World Cup and no one talking about any African team to have a spot in semifinal which is another concern because few teams were on good development but recently lost their best with having no suitable replacements.

The Super falcons have always done better for the nation on international duty. I mean it's no surprise at all to me that they have advanced to the next level of the competition. I still won't be surprised if they win also. Too bad their performance seems to have dropped this time and they seem to be struggling to win games, they just need to regroup, find areas where they are lapsing and improve on their games to be able to win against Morocco.
The super falcons always represent the country well, they are among the top 3 best female football team in Africa is not the top, they are always qualifying for world tournament and always represent Nigeria well as well make Africa proud when it cones to football. I am sure they will be the champions of this tournament because i feel they deserve it.

The supper falcons have been consistently winning matches, with the last match ending with a goal advantage against their opponent, a goal many football analysts sees to be a narrow winning for the falconets of Nigeria. I believe the team will top their various leagues in this season.

Congratulations to the Super Falcons. Nigeria has advanced to the next round. What a man can do, a woman can do much better. Morocco is next. We have to be flawless to beat Morocco. This was not the best performance from the super Falcons even though we won. I am not impressed, they didn't play at the level I know they can, good enough we have qualified for the world cup. I hope to see them get better
Congratulations to this wonderful team. Even the President is pleased with there performance and their qualification for the next FIFA female world cup in Australia & New Zealand. From their first match against Banyana Banyana of South Africa I observed that the team is not at their best. The players seems overweight or fatigued. Securing a World Cup slot is a massive achievement and for me they have done their best. Hence, if they fail to defeat Morocco, they still deserve my praise and respect. But if the Falcons go to the World Cup with this level of performance, Nigeria should prepare to welcome them back after the group stage. They need to improve drastically for them to compete favorably with other top class teams.

From the above yellow cards, you see that the march was rough.

Nigeria VS Sierra Leone
Since Nigeria has lose out from the world cup qualified, let them try (play well) to win the African Cup of Nations to console themselves from the world shocked. In the march with Sierra Leone, I do not really understand what Nigeria was playing at the first half of the march, although they played or tried for the 2nd half of the march and finally, they (Nigeria) won Sierra Leone with 2:1. Nigeria should play in their next game to reduce fans heart attack, because Nigeria marches gives brain damage.
Stat in the march.
John Kamara from Sierra Leone collect yellow card, Oghenekaro Etebo from Nigeria collect yellow card, Alie Sesay from Sierra Leone collect yellow card, Alhassan Koroma from Sierra Leone collect yellow card, Ola Aina from Nigeria collect yellow card, Francis Uzoho from Nigeria collect yellow card. From the above yellow cards, you see that the march was rough.

The super falcon are doing well,  They still make us to be proud  now that the super eagles are not back strong. I'm very convinced that the super falcon will win when they meet with the Morocco ladies, super falcon have been very consistent in performance, with their activeness and good result they will come out I  victory.

It is always tough when you play a neighboring country especially during important games, any kind of win is better than no winning at all. The super falcons deserve commendation for not disappointing in securing our 9th successive spot for the world cup New Zealand. Rasheedat totally deserved to be the player of the match with that very important goal, if it had not been her, it would have been Ebi Onome who showed experience in the defense. I am confident that that the falcons will still record victory over morocco.

Watching the current UEFA European women championship, the teams I think that may be a border to these falcons should they meet in the world cup are France, Germany and Netherlands.

The Cameroonian goalkeeper was superb but had a very weak defense in the second half. The two goals conceded were from almost the same spot. They played well during the first half of the game. I was left wondering what went wrong in the second half. For the super-falcons, it is not over until it is over. Congratulations to them. I expect more from them in their next game against Morocco. At the time of writing this, the South African team is winning their Tunisian counterpart by a goal.

_luck has a lot to do with it, I feel that the eagles have certainly lacked good luck, and this about the eagles reminds me of my country's team that clearly before they were with players who were not up to the task, who were not they had luck and apart from everything there is a great internal corruption, and this is something that is very difficult to combat, but I think that at this point the government has already made an amendment, it has put one of the best technicians in South America and is making a good job, obviously the coach should be paid very well, and that should be the solution for Nigeria, because in Nigeria they have a lot of material, players who are forged from a young age.

Luck? All is well. Football is an entertainment game, and all games are for luck. That is football is a game of luck. But I am confused on Nigeria Super Eagles. Their strategies to possess and score goal is always lacking. As for me, I believe that, the players as a role to play by restructuring their stands and technics. Also the NFF leadership and the government which is affecting the players badly. NFF has been politicized, so the real managerial activities are very weak to the core. And also the players are also politicized. Nigerian really has good, when I say good , real good football players but the managerial team would select people of their choice to join the team to play nonsense. Some players even learn how to play when they join the team. Meritocracy is always missing in Nigeria in all ramifications of the country.

The situation with the Super Eagles has entirely nothing to do with luck. A lot of issues have to be fixed, we have more big players in the squad now than ever and we still find it very difficult to qualify even for the group stages playing against other African countries. How lucky do we think we can be against European countries. There has to be constructive change, we need connection and a positive spirit in the team.
Totally agree with you. I do not mean to sound like a pessimist here but I really do not see a change coming anytime this year. John Maxwell said, "Everything rises and falls on leadership". I couldn't agree more. What we see playing out in the Super Eagles is a leadership issue. And I mean from the leadership of the nation and not just the NFF. Hopefully, see a change in the coming year.

Although it sounds ironic, luck has a lot to do with it, I feel that the eagles have certainly lacked good luck, and this about the eagles reminds me of my country's team that clearly before they were with players who were not up to the task, who were not they had luck and apart from everything there is a great internal corruption, and this is something that is very difficult to combat, but I think that at this point the government has already made an amendment, it has put one of the best technicians in South America and is making a good job, obviously the coach should be paid very well, and that should be the solution for Nigeria, because in Nigeria they have a lot of material, players who are forged from a young age.

I believe the Super falconets will have a lot of proving to do today as they are once again paired against a bitter rival, Cameroon at the Stade Mohammed V, Casablanca. Previous games has seen the indomitable lionesses win all their four games and will be hoping to make this the fifth.
The Nigerian side suffered defeat at the hands of South Africa at the opening games and I strongly believe they will not want to make any mistakes this time.
Having met a total of fifteen times, the Super falconets have been able to defeat them fourteen good times and today shouldn't be any different. Honestly, I'm expecting goals in today's game. But who will emerge the winner? My fingers are crossed. Lips sealed

Yes. The Super Falcon is one team that gladdens my heart even when they lose unlike their male counterparts.

My prediction for tomorrows match is Nigeria 2 - 1 Burundi and South-Africa 1 - 0 Botswana

Seems you're not familiar with our ladies, after a defeat, they go all ghost mode to destroy anybody on their path. Your prediction wasn't accurate but you got the winning prediction. The game ended 4-0 with the super facon securing all three points and just three points behind south Africa that has won all their games. The game had all the entertainment in the first half as the super facon were already confident of winning the game at the end of the first half.

This could probably be the reason why the ladies didn't push for more goals in the second and only scored one. Kanu scored twice both in the first and second half. It wasn't an easy game at first because it took the super falcons over 25 minutes before they could get the first goal through a penalty and after that they score twice within two minutes to get the three goals that ended the first half before kanu sealed the game with the last gaol in the start of the second half.

My prediction for tomorrows match is Nigeria 2 - 1 Burundi and South-Africa 1 - 0 Botswana

My prediction for the score line of the South Africa - Botswana's game was correct. I was not too impressed with the Banyana Banyana team in this particular game. They were resting on their oars. Even the lone goal was a tough one. But still they have qualified for the next stage and will be facing Tunisia in the quarter-final clash on Thursday. On the other hand, the Super Falcons' match will was a walk in the park. It was obvious that they were the stronger team. Just like the Banyana Banyana side, they have also earned a place in the quarter finals and will face the  Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon on Thursday.
@Davidvictorson, your prediction was 60% correct because the South African game against Botswana ended as you predicted but the Super Falcons game against Burundi did not come out as you predicted in the score line but the Super Falcons won in the game.  The South African team didn't take the game very seriously maybe because they had 6 points already and they were so relaxed and over confident that was why they managed to register a goal in the game very poor performance I must say, I hope they improved in the quarter-final stage.
prediction of them is like a discussion so everybody have his own right to predict anything it'll feel like to predict because the provision is coming out from your observation from what you have watched previously will determine your way of a prediction. So times prediction goes wrong and some times prediction goes well.
