They have had good games from.the onset, winning this Afcon on home soil will be of great joy to them.
You are correct ever since Nigeria and Ivory Coast got knocked, it's been a bit boring.
We have got Senegal around, With Mane, Guinea with Baby Keita, I just wish them well, but henceforth my predictions are on Cameroon.

AFCON has been boring since the start, no much goals, most of the matches played are less than 2 goals, also the round of 16 knockout has been boring, let us see if this will still later change but I doubt that.
It might be pretty boring from the quality and goal perspective, but also it is pretty dramatic. With Nigeria and Ivory Coast two favorites are already out. Now all eyes are on Senegal and Cameroon. They seem to have an easy way into the final, but this tournament has shown that it is good for surprises. I do expect them to win their quarter finals, but the semi-final could get very interesting.
After Nigeria and Ivory coast got knocked out I gamble based on favouritism because there is no reasonable statistics to base my prediction on. But to be frank the AFCON tournament has been boring from the onset. Cameroon could likely play the finals because they are the host country and maybe matches might just work out to their favour. I have decided to take what ever comes from AFCON prediction in good faith

Yeah, it's been looking quite boring for me so far, I don't even know any team to support noose with Nigeria being out and the secumstances for which they left the tournament. Loosing to a team that came third, Alex Iwoebi's red card, Nigeria not having even a shot on target and the only shot that truly cont from the Tunisian team got assisted by the goal keeper into the net. At that point, AFCON came with a new face to me as, not being an interesting watch. Senegal is the team that interests me just a little and in my mind, I see them going fat in the tournament.

Egypt won on penalties and I thought that a draw would have been the most likely result between my favorite team here Ivory Coast and Egypt but I didn't bet on them.Penalties can also be considered luck as you never know how they will end.

The real surprise of yesterday games was Mali elimination from Equatorial Guinea, although they lost with penalties it is through the regular time that Mali should have won the game.

Today's Ivory Coast - Egypt match is going to be very interesting. The Ivory Coast team seems to be the favorite, but the team in which Mohamed Salah is playing on should definitely never be underestimated.
One of the tournaments that is unpredictable that is currently going on is AFCON, Ivory coast and Egypt played draw to the end of the match while Egypt won by penalty shootout. Almost everyone thought Ivory coast would win but it was the other way around. Now Ivory coast is out of the tournament.

Todays matches were extremly boring no goals on both of the matches and this tournament continues to dissapoint. Both matches were played 120 minutes and we didnt see 1 goal. Both Egypt and Equatrioal Guinea won on penalties and went into the next round.

I thought I was the only one seeing this. The cards are just too much. Sometimes I assume its a rule in African football that at least one red card has to be given per game. Because I don't understand why  red card is handed out in almost every AFCON match. This tournament is the worst with very poor officiating.
i think the officials think that it is a prerequisite to issue a red card in every game to be called good officiating. I think the red cards sometimes are highly unnecessary especially when we all know that this is african football and it is always very physical, why ruin the game with red cards instead of following them in that line. Not saying you shouldn't issue cards when very necessary, but not for every african physical challenge.

In the African Cup today, Ivory Coast and Egypt are playing against each other. Even though Ivory Coast have shown a much better performance than Egypt so far in the tournament, I think that Egypt will make a surprise and qualify for the quarter finals in this draw which includes only one match.

Ivory Coast  play very well right from the beginning of the match , their performance was more better than that of Egypt, I know Ivory Coast will be tough to Egypt because of they have good players who are good in football.
Egypt were lucky to win the match with a penalty towards the end of the match.
that's how the football game is difficult to predict even though almost all of the Ivory Coast players are inhabited by top European players, but they have difficulty scoring goals against Egypt, the game is completely controlled by the Ivory Coast, sometimes those who can control the game can't get a win, but I salute to the ivory coast who have fought so hard, but they have to accept defeat gracefully, mohammad's last execution was wrong, so Egypt's victory became 4-5, congratulations to egypt for being able to advance to the quarter-finals..

this is a strange sight to behold, i expected teams like nigeria to be present but in the end these are the teams that will play in the quarter finals and i hope arbriros don't put their fingers to indirectly manipulate the game with cards red they are giving

As i said before todays games are really hard to predict

betting on under has become a much better option

The Egypt-Morocco match was like an early final. Both teams are very strong. There is no side that I can say definitely can win. Even though Egypt has an important player like Salah, I think Morocco can win this match. On the other hand, I think Tunisia is strong enough to eliminate Burkina Faso.

Also, what's with the amount of red cards in this competition?
Yea, that's curious.

The current competition has 0.21 Red cards per game + 0.1 yellow/red. The previous Africa cup had 0.04/0.06 and the last World cup 0.03/0.03

So currently we are at 3x the amount of red or yellow/red card compared to the last Africa cup and 5x compared to the last World cup  Shocked

most cards are unnecessary to give, the referees are harming the teams and the reputation of the tournament, there are meaningless things they are doing... I am particularly used to the fact that in Africa the referee decides the result of many games, unfortunately this one corruption or poor quality of arbitrators is being a big problem

African referee need to be upgraded, at this point I have lost interests in this tournament. I don't even know what the VAR tells the referees and what those referees sees on the monitor. With all these happenings, this is practically why AFCON isn’t taken as seriously as the Euro’s or World cup. It’s about quality, and organization of the tournament and this feels like a 2nd rate deal.

As i said before todays games are really hard to predict i watched the first match of ivory Coast against Egypt both teams were really close to score and had many chances i think for me it's the best game from the beginning of this competition but there was no good finition to score and open the game for more opportunities and we had to wait for penalties and even with the Egypt second goalkeeper he managed to save one shot and send the Pharaohs through to AFCON quarter-finals.
About mali against equatorial guinea i didn't watch the match but i really didn't wait this result and surprisingly equatorial guinea have made it and stole the qualifications from mali which i thought had a strong team.
Tomorrow I'm betting on tunisia team against Burkina Faso to win the game

Well I didn't watch the senagal match so I had no idea and can't contribution much about the mane situation but probably since he was the best player in their team maybe that's why they refused to sub him and he did score which helped them alot.
Yeah, I understand that he's likely their best player. However, player welfare should come first. I know a lot of people might be aware I'm a Liverpool fan, and therefore could have some bias, but not really. I would like to see him taken off if he was in a Liverpool shirt or any shirt for that matter. We shouldn't be jeopardising player health simply because they are the teams best player. I don't want to be too dramatic here, but this is how people die or get life changing injuries. Thankfully, the reports are he's fine. Though, they've already cleared him for the next game, when concussion can actually take several days to show symptoms, which just seems like negligence to me.

The situation about the red card is very worrisome. There wasn't much in the group stages but this round of 16 has been something else. Most times I feel the advice from the coaches to the players were to get the legs if they missed the ball because it seems like that's what everyone is doing.

Hopefully this get address soon and other stages we get more professional football were we have less cards.
Hopefully, it gets addressed before there's any serious injuries from it. I don't actually think the Mane incident was dangerous play, just unlucky. It was how they handled it afterward I had a problem with. I've also seen some crazy officiating, overall the whole competition has been mind boggling at times how things have been allowed to play out.

Everyone knows how corrupt football is in Africa but FIFA doesn't seem to get a solid stance against that in reality... What happened for Comoros team is the best example to how cruel the competition is. Eto'o has been widely criticised too for his involvement on that. Maintaining this competition in Cameroon was a big mistake. Covid tests results were questioned, VAR, poor security measures, stadium aren't that top, poor video quality... You don’t feel watching a professional and international games. A normal game in Europe or elsewhere is way better than that. Obviously we shouldn't forget shorty, the referee that blow the whistle 5 minutes then 1 minute before the end of the game and literally killing it then blamed the weather and exhaustion for that...

Now look to that Cry

The north Africans teams are very determined, resolute and have a fighting spirit thus the Egyptian held the Ivorians till the end of the match the Ivorians team is talented and star-studded yet couldn't score a goal until the game was decided through penalty kicks, Egypt didn't score much goals in the competition despite that they are through to the quarterfinals coincidentally will play Morroco another North African rivals of which one of those team will qualify to the semifinals.

I only give Ivory coast the favorite because of how floppy Egypt played their group stage matches without considering they can improve going forward and today, they played above our imagination, they should have even killed the game in regular time but wasted a lot of chances. The game could have gone either sides. Both teams where very solid and unfortunately for Ivory Coast today marks the end of their stay in Cameroon and we have to thank them for participating. Egypt with the deserved Victory after a well defensive fine display. I think they truly deserve qualifications.

Well, it's still football and to win somebody must score a goal. If it doesn't happen then anything is possible in the penalties Smiley

Mali vs Eq. Guinea is 0-0 at the half time. Another game with very few goals. Under 0,5 goals pays 2.35 currently if somebody wants to risk it  Wink
