Ivory Coast - Egypt
I wasn't expecting a goaless game so far, and i'm very impressed with Eric Bailly, I didn't think much of him prior to this game considering that he doesn't get enough playing opportunity for his club. He has done a good job keeping Salah in check so far. Looking like the game will get to penalties. The Egyptians look exhausted already, but the Ivorians are still looking pumped. Ivory Coast to win if it gets to a shootout.

In the African Cup today, Ivory Coast and Egypt are playing against each other. Even though Ivory Coast have shown a much better performance than Egypt so far in the tournament, I think that Egypt will make a surprise and qualify for the quarter finals in this draw which includes only one match.

Well, we are still yet to see the end of this match since both the first and second halves ended in a barren draw. The extra is on but I don't think either of these teams will score given the way they've been playing so far. Would wait to see how this evolves - most likely in a penalty shootout. If it goes to that, my money is on Egypt to wrap this one.

When malawi scorred at the 7th minute of the game the odds for morocco well almost 2 ao i took advantage ans betted a good amount of money for that. And thankfully they didn't let me down. Hakimi scorred an amazing goal from a long distance free kick and morroco than played safely till the end of the match.
Today we gonna see a great match of two strong teams Ivory Coast vs Egypt
It's really hard to bet on any team to win this one and i wouldn't risk too much on this game.
Yeah I saw the highlights and the goal of Hakimi was impressive. The way the ball rotated from that long distance is just awesome. One of the best goals so far!
Even Malawi goal was good too.
I saw the referee asking Malawi goalkeeper to take off something from the goal, some magic Tongue
For now, Ivory Coast 0-0 Egypt few minutes before the end of the match. Obviously the man of the match is the 5 stars field.

Bookmakers give some unrealistic odds for this match: 1.3 - 4.6 - 15.0
Egypt before the start of the tournament was considered a favorite, and now the chance of winning it is 15? How is this possible? With Salah in the game, I think they are very underrated. Easy bet on Egypt. Thoughts?
Well the odds changes with time it may be possible to see 15 odds if the match is 2 to 3 days away but as the date and time of match come close the odds keep reducing, check the current odds for today match screen short.
If one bet on this games last 48 hours the odds will definitely be bigger than what you are seeing.

The match between Ivory Coast versus Egypt has started, 10 minutes of the ball match was dominated by Ivory Coast players, even Ivory Coast almost got a penalty in the 6th minute, when viewed from the players, Ivory Coast is superior, because Ivory Coast has many star players, who play in European clubs, while Egypt only has a few players who play in Europe's elite clubs, but I am also optimistic that Muhammad and his friends are able to advance to the quarter-finals of the African cup.

This is a game that is very difficult to predict considering that the two big teams have to face off early to be brought to the last 16 of the African Cup of Nations this season where in the Ivory Coast preliminary round they won two matches and only drew once in contrast to the Egyptian national team where they played three matches with 2 wins and 1 loss, maybe Ivory Coast is the favorite in this match even though Egypt can surprise us in the next match but we also have to be wary of Ivory Coast who appeared so impressive in the group stage

Today's Ivory Coast - Egypt match is going to be very interesting. The Ivory Coast team seems to be the favorite, but the team in which Mohamed Salah is playing on should definitely never be underestimated. It will be a tight game, so I wonder whether to bet that will a red card be shown also in this match? This is the norm in the recent African Cup of Nations games and the @3.75 odd are encouraging.
What is this red card everyone has been complaining about is the stage of the tournament, I guess the referees have over-pampered the players in the group stage and have changed that in this normal stage, take Nig vs Tunisia game for example the Nigeria frontline player that received the red card is worth it because of the impact of the offense on the other player, this is the qualifying stage and the coaches have cautioned their player to make it a win-win situation by all means.
Let's see how tonight's game will go before we can make further analysis.

Whoever wins later will face Morocco who managed to beat Malawi with difficulty yesterday, in my opinion the match between Ivory Coast and Egypt is like a final that happened too quickly, both teams have been favorite teams to win the African Cup this year, but unfortunately they have to clash early now to qualify for the quarter-finals, in terms of player quality it looks like Ivory Coast has an advantage in my opinion compared to Egypt which only relies on Salah, so maybe Ivory Coast will be able to beat Egypt with a score of 2-1 in the match later.

Also, what's with the amount of red cards in this competition?

Well I didn't watch the senagal match so I had no idea and can't contribution much about the mane situation but probably since he was the best player in their team maybe that's why they refused to sub him and he did score which helped them alot.

The situation about the red card is very worrisome. There wasn't much in the group stages but this round of 16 has been something else. Most times I feel the advice from the coaches to the players were to get the legs if they missed the ball because it seems like that's what everyone is doing.

Hopefully this get address soon and other stages we get more professional football were we have less cards.

morocco 0 vs  1 malawi
Malawi scorred a great goal against morrocan team in the first 10 minutes. But i see it a good opportunity to bet on morroco now to win the game even with this situation
Oh I am very late, I didn't pay attention to the result earlier or I would placed a bet for Morocco! How much the odds were when Malawi scored? From stats it seems that Morocco is controlling the game.
Hakimi (PSG) and En-Nesyri (Sevilla) made the two goals for Morocco letting it to pass Malawi although they scored first.

Is not of surprise that Senegal will win cape Verde because i see cape Verde like group of team that qualify with luck in their group, so every one know very well that Senegal, Egypt and Nigeria is the strongest team among the teams that play AFCON cup, so Senegal wining cape Verde is not surprising, the goals of Senegal suppose to be above the score, as the match ended with 2:0 Senegal vs cape Verde, the match was easy to Senegal to defeat.
Senegal started the game with much confidence probably because they had their players returned and were very much complete. I saw how dominating they were through out the game. Besides they have lots of experienced players that plays in big clubs in the top leagues. Senegal have a lot of work to do because that win wasn't a convincing one. Into the match i felt bad with the bad officiating on Cape Verde.  it's really embarrassing that the Africa cup of nation has very poor officiating both the referees and VAR are not efficiently making a good way.  it's really pains to see how other countries are been mistreated unfairly.

Yea, that's curious.

The current competition has 0.21 Red cards per game + 0.1 yellow/red. The previous Africa cup had 0.04/0.06 and the last World cup 0.03/0.03

So currently we are at 3x the amount of red or yellow/red card compared to the last Africa cup and 5x compared to the last World cup  Shocked

Ridiculous safety precautions at AFCON. I know there's been accusations of people not giving AFCON the respect it deserves, but it does make it hard when the officiating as been as bad as it has, and the general treatment of injured players. I'm mainly talking about the Mane incident recently, where he was clearly knocked non conscious, and there didn't seem to be any consideration about removing him from the game. He goes on to score a few minutes later which is a little crazy in itself, but then lies down himself clearly says he can't continue, and the medical staff seem to be up in his face, preventing him from walking off.

I'm just used to strict concussion rules with rugby, but also we've seen this in English football too. If someone has lost consciousness, then a concussion is pretty much a foregone conclusion, and therefore they should be taken off. At the very least, a player should be assessed. An assessment doesn't take a few seconds, it would take a couple of minutes, and you generally have to run several tests, and observe rather than listen to what the player patient is telling you.

Also, what's with the amount of red cards in this competition?

Just like what we saw in Nigeria in the last match, I would have preferred the match ended in a draw.
The match to end draw, but Nigeria was not capable of that even after wining the three group stage matches. Nigeria played very well before but they had a poor performance in knockout stage.
The approach to the game was incorrect; they were poor from the start; this was not the Nigeria we saw in the group stage; the expectation was high before this game, but the performance was below average; I believe the Tunisia coach deserves some credit for tactically removing Simon, Chikwueze, and Kelechi from the game; he knew these players were the team's powerhouse, and if they were ineffective, the team would suffer. Now I'll have to concentrate my efforts on the Ivory Coast since my second-choice squad, Senegal, is not performing as expected; they are gaining results, but they are not playing well. They are simply fortunate.

Such a win is great for morale and motivation of Morocco. They will have a difficult further path through the tournament, facing the winner of Ivory Coast/Egeypt in the quarter finals and potentially Cameroon in the semi-finals. However, they could grow into a surprise team in this cup.
Morocco can still continue trying but I do not see or predict the country to win AFCON this year again. Morocco has been one of the best country to be on AFCON since 1970s but the country won only one time before and that was in 1976. The best year Morocco had after the win was only in 2004. Let us see how this will go, but I do not see Morocco going far if we start to count from this round of 16. Though the country won Malawi nicely.

Despite that, the game ended with 2 goals to 1 Malawi performed beyond expectation and we were able to defend the 1:1 goal line till the last half of the match, but you know in football anything can happen.
I did not watch the match but I think it is indicative how Malawi tried, but the country guessed to win is still the winner which is Morocco. Just that Malawi scored very early at the 7th minute after the start of the match but Morocco equalised that during the first half extra time and scored the second goal at 70th minute. This is still a great winning for Morocco.
