sorry mate, nothing we can do to undo it, wait for the next boom maybe
Exactly, what is done cannot be undone. This is the reality of human life. We don’t have the power to change our past. If it was ever possible then all of us would have become angels by now with correcting our mistakes from travelling into the past. This is the reason why it is advised to show care while making decision about the digital asset. These are not weak coins or cheap assets.

One main rule if you loss a lot or earn a lot do not need to open new position right now to get more profit because you will need a time to decide how to acting better or you will loss profit.

So this happened to me twice this week, first I sold Bitcoin Cash and the next day, it started booming and has not up considerably and still going strong, then I sold Golem and boom it goes too.

What do you do in such situations? When you finally sell for a small profit after a long wait but then you realize that you missed on big profit with you bad timing.
How do you deal with this? Any tips to minimize this or overcome after such bad timing decisions?

This how trading works, you can never predict the absolute top nor can you predict the absolute bottom.  In order to limit the damage from these kinds of situations you could only sell a portion of your coins at certain price points just in case they keep rising, or you could do partial buys if you think it could keep dropping.

I usually sell 70-80% to breakeven, then retain the profit. The amount of profits I usually set high prices, given that it does not affect my psychology.

The only way to overcome that is to become a lot more patient, in theory it sounds easy but you have told us that your sold as soon as you saw a profit, while those that obtain the most profits out of their investments are the ones that wait and let their coins to go up in value and they do not get desperate to sell, also it helps you that you learn about trading that way you will not sell when a bull market is just beginning.

Firstly, I’m really sorry to hear that, guy. Now you’d better keep your head because as you know that you still have chance to fix your mistake, I believe that this is the best lesson for you to get a big benefit later. You are too hurried in making decision and it’s not a good measure in cryptomarket. But I advise you shouldn’t be sad too much, all you need to do now is buying and waiting. Everything will be alright, if you think in positive way to find a good answer.

I too have sold several Bitcoins when they were cheaper, thinking they would tank further. What do I do? I learn the lesson, and don't buy in FOMO. One mistake is enough.

Actually, before everything you must accept this bad decision which led you to a loss because those currencies rose significantly in this period, and believe me, If you keep blaming yourself for this mistake, then this will adversely affect your decisions or your future choices. So just accept the truth and you must deal with this new situation.

Furthermore, you must  learn from  this bad  experience, and  the most important thing is to compensate for this loss with an acceptable profit in the near future. In my opinion, you must collect a good amount of Bitcoin and Ethereum, maybe you should search for some jobs or other things. and then, just HODL all your budget in those two cryptocurrencies, and I am pretty sure that you will earn a lot of money. just deal with the truth in intelligent way.

The market now is recovering and i'm glad i'm one of those people who did not discourage by the sudden dump and pump of the crypto market in the past months. I believe too that the market is recovering now and i don't care if it slow. What important is what every decision we make when we buy or sell. We won't blame anyone because we believe that's the perfect time for selling then suddenly the price went up and that's huge blow for us because our expectation in price exceed but i think we must move on from this and continue trading. Just believe that we can gain more in the following trades.
Yeah my friend, thank god we're patience and don't do the panic selling while it's really low price and now is the moment that we're enjoying our work.
I told my friend not to sell but he firmly to me that this market is going down more and more and he sold everythnig he has, now he's actually broke and loss.

What I can suggest you avoid this situation is to sell partial quantity and keep some then you can get a chance to sell at higher if prices go again high.

Also, if you have made already enough profit from your investment then we shouldn't worry about these things because we can't always time the market. Now you need to find other good coins to invest and make more profit.
This would help someone who is actually doing to be holding and waiting for some few periods to get the best value and also know what to look out for in case things are about to go awry. What you said may actually work great for someone who is looking for the best value hit in a potential market, and selling part of it would work.

If the OP's strategy is a short term trade, I would suggest he should learn how to sell as much as he has learned how to buy as that is the two way street to any market and without it, mistakes like that would always be made.

Only sell your altcoins if you are in really need of money. I would suggest that you should have more patience in waiting till it goes up and reaches your target, holding is still better than selling in doubt

You should avoid selling your coin without doing research first. Otherwise, you will fall on FOMO because of your bad decision making. If you are uncertain, I strongly follow the community of coins you are holding. It will give you insight whether you want to sell or buy more. If you have enough money, subscribing in a trading signal provider is also a good option.

Decisions are made at a given time and analyzed at the same time. After the deal is closed you will not matter what will happen with your altcoin.

Take it as a learning experience to resist that urge to take small profit or...
Be positive that you waited it out and were able to pull profit.
Not taking small profits sometimes can also lead you into not even taking anything at all. I feel the best advise to give him is to learn how to trade for profit. Now, it is one thing to have a strategy and stick to it, which is fine. A lot of day traders sell for profit, the market goes haywire to the upside and they do not kill themselves for it, they just move to a new potential market.

The thing is we cannot time the market, but we can always change our strategy, and if he is ready to always wait longer to get the best result, then the choice is his. Moreover, I feel he just does not know the signals to use to sell in the market. Learning about divergence will really be of great help.

I know that feel, at least we still get profit even though small because many also loss, I have tips that is when the price go up do not rush to sell but see if the rising trend will continue or not, I am sure by seeing the market you can know.
