Some would say it probably goes higher, the BTC, while some say it will decrease. I'm still in a verge of reviewing the possibilities, although for this August 1, we'll gonna make it through. Let's make this happen whatever it might be, I'll still use bitcoin for mining and be involved on the statements and issues.

I see a lot of threads talking about the BIG date regarding August 1st.

But there are no threads about whats going to happen after August 1st. There will be an August 2nd (My birthday) so lets talk about that...

Predictions/Price/ etc...

I want to hear some thoughts.

My plan is to buy up BTC in the coming weeks and HODL

If you will buy bitcoin make sure that there will be no hardfork because if there will be, I predict there will be a dump after august 1 so if it started to stabilize by that time, buy. There is also a possibility of it going up to unimaginable prices if bitcoin hardfork is good so it is better to buy one week before august 1 but don't go all in on fiat.

Keeping all in bitcoin and keeping all in USD / Fiat is not a good idea. Sell some bitcoins now, see the market regularly and play with the news. Thats the best way to avoid loss in either case of bitcoin going up or down.

Exactly, I agree with you. I am not scared about Bitcoin dumping. I believe Bitcoin will pump again soon. That's why I think it's the time to buy and hold Bitcoin. It's the Golden Chance for everyone. It's my personal opinion.

what is most safety wallet for hold bitcoin until 2.august?
I am using almost all of wallets, because of different reason. Is blockchain.info okay for this? how about exchanges?
I am not sure what is benefit from Segwit, it is very hard explained to the new user about bitcoin, now is there something new. Today bitcoin have simple rules, and i do not like any complications.

i think every wallet which we used or know is secure, this will work too with wallet in exchanges. because before one dev or on exchange want to release their product, they must tested it and if there are any bugs, they must fix before its released to public. i have my wallet in 7 exchanges, mycelium, jaxx, coinomi, coinpayments and i think its secure.

i am first use blockchain and because of high fee going to coinbase and electrum. also i have something on Xapo and almost all exchanges.
with this bitcoin price drop my dollar portfolio are devasted Sad i hope after 2nd august will back.

in my point of view when facing 1 August segregated witness better to move temporarily into bitcoin core or other more secure wallet.
although i can not said that store in exchanges is unsecure but most of the people said that saving coin on exchanges is very risky, moreover when segregated witness happens on 1 August. just do prevent actions before segregated witness.

Main prediction, as mentioned before, is that the hardfrork will be the outcome of August 1, and that prices will be quite high in the following few months. Sure, things may seem quite slow, and it also seems like prices are falling in the coming days/ weeks to this big day. But this is just the result of many people being quite scared of what the outcome is going to be and not actually thinking logically about the long term outcomes. Probably things will start out quite slow, but we will probably see a gradual increase in bitcoin's price that will break all previous records. I just dont understand why everyone is panicking and selling their investments just now. Im sure things will turn out just fine.

Well bitcoin just fell to exactly 2000$ USD, so if wanted to buy, I would definitly recommend buying a bit now, and then seeing if it drops even further, and them buying from there. This is what Segwit is causing to bitcoin, and it is making us all nervous and selling now. And to drop bitcoin even further, people are selling at, say 2200 USD, and then re-buying at a lower price.

Well what happens after the hard fork, if it does go through, should be quite simple. I would definitly speculate a re surge in Bitcoin's price and a drop in Alt coins. I would think that Bitcoin may hit 3k in the days after the hard fork.

This is speculation worthy, move it there if you know how, if price drops below $1950 I'd sell everything if I paid more to buy them before and would wait 2 more weeks to buy some cheap coins at probably $1300. I'd be selling and cashing all my assets and buy Bitcoin at low prices, simply because it has the potential to pass $2800 2 months from now. safest thing to do now is to sell. but if you are rich enough and could afford to lose whatever you have invested then hold like Satoshi.

safest thing to do would have been to sell when price was still high. the dumbest thing always is to sell after the price has fallen and reached a bottom.

lets forget about everything else and only look at numbers.
price has fallen from $2900+ to $2000 and you have not yet sold. do you honestly think it is a good idea to sell now at the lowest price! it doesn't seem like a good plan to me. why have to held this long anyways and what changed. the reasons why you held in the previous $900 drop still exists and for the same reason you should hold.

and I doubt that price can go up to $2800 anytime soon in case it drops to very low prices like $1300. in which case a lot of money will go out and stay out.

breaking $2000 has proven to be a tough thing to do with bitcoin and price seems to be holding up above it for the time being. this can change and price may go lower but also like always the people who sell or the panic sellers are limited numbers with finite coins. they run out soon and others will always jump on board when price is low to buy and hold for long term even if it goes a little bit lower it will still be profitable to buy.

and that makes the chances of more drop lower.
and besids we have SegWit activation on the way with the high support from everyone. and that is a big rise on the way anyways.

I don't really care about trending news that happening in these days, I will be honest. I just care and worry about the price that steadily declining day by day. I am wondering why people get panic and put that cut losses.

I see bitcoin after months of 1st August raise to 4000-5000$.
But before bitcoin will fall low. to 1400-1700 ...

It can fall even below $1,000 per coin... The possibility if a chain split is now very significant. Most of the large holders are converting their coins to either fiat or LTC. There will be massive dump before August 1.

remember just 18 months ago, the community was promised segwit. being backward compatible..  now even the ones promising "backward compatibility and no harm to the network" are screaming that activating it will cause a split.... and gasping at anyone who has not updated

so 18 months since then. i remain laughing at the empty promises that keep bubbling up to the surface in regards to segwit

there are a lot of speculation if you want and they are all in the speculation board! obviously! Smiley
here are my thoughts: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/my-bitcoin-speculation-for-august-only-rise-is-possible-2015798
and i still say that is how things will go. a lot of drama before the date, then slowly gaining trust if the miners support remain high and don't change, then a smooth transition and then a fast rise up after that date as the SegWit activation gains more confidence and when it is locked_in price will shoot up.

Any idea what should i do with my Bitcoin? I am using coins.ph and i have roughly 3 Btc should i move them to offline wallet or just keep them in coins ph?  I really don't have any idea what or where i can download offline wallet for Bitcoin. Don't know what will happen with my Btc after aug 1 because i don't have access to my private keys , the site is just providing me a bitcoin address to received from a transaction.
