Aimedis has announced a new article. it is about AI in Healthcare and bedside Robots in UK! Not only cleaning robots like we have at home, but read here more:

https://blog.aimedis.com/ai-in-healthcare-uk/

While i see this as beautiful having Robots by the bedside, i am forced to think of the humanity aspect of it, it feels strange to be attended to by a machine tbh Sad

There's no way bedside robots will completely replace the care of humans but they can certainly aid humans. Whenever I've been to a hospital the nurses are always rushed off their feet and you have to wait a long time to see one yourself ... If AI can help in other tasks which frees up time for nurses that's a massive positive.

That's exactly what I mean, with AI and robots, the nurses and doctors are relieved, but not completely unemployed. Aimedis' platform is designed to make life easier for physicians and patients. These new technologies will give us all a lot of pleasure

Completely agree. We're not ready or in a day and age where robots literally roll on down to our bedside, dispense our tablets, take our blood pressure and temperature etc ... Aimedis will allow day to day to run more efficiently, it's not going to make the employees redundant.

Agreed, the essence of AI, robots and all that is to hasten processes that on a normal day will take much more time to achieve and also some robots when it comes to performing surgeries, reach to a much more distinctive limit than the normal human hands can reach but even at that we still need the supervision and control of the medical practitioners

I am currently reading on the homepage that Aimedis connects me in case of a doctor. So far, I've always thought I have to find the doctor who works with Aimedis first. That's very handy, of course

There’s way too much concern with the replacement of humans the fact is it’s coming regardless so why not take advatntage of advancements as they arise the worlds so held back by people afraid of change quicker we get past that fear the quicker we as a people can move forward faster

Every new thing in the world starts with resistance. Change management is essential part of life these days. See what happened with Facebook's stand on cryptos. So AI will also be part of everything in the future. Medical field is not an exception.

I don't think that is the fear..  The actual fear is the hostile take over by the machines or if something goes wrong with the AI during treatments which might lead to the death of a patient or something bad. But i support the advancement of AI in the medical field.

AI is needed for medical purposes. AI(bots) has way more accuracy than a human being in operations. That is why i will support it.

Yeah, the truth is that whether we accept it or not AI will take over a lot of jobs, it has happened before with other technology and it is happening right now with computers. So doctors should understand that AI is more or less a partner that tries to make their job easier and efficient.

Fear is talking to most realistic there fear isn’t being overthrown it’s losing their day jobs. The fact is they should be studying for better jobs and not just cashiers and generic easily automated job positions which don’t even take ai really to replace just a generic app lol

You have a point, the world is changing and going to a more advanced level, its best one gets his/her hands soaked into this advancement in other to be part of the future, just like Aimedis, they are heading to the future, which makes the project relevant, soon, we'll get to see a lot of technology get phased out and experience a new dawn of technological advancement

I think AI in it self would open up new set of jobs; However rendering some traditional jobs obsolete that is a given. We can almost certainly tell which would be but in the medical sector you still need the human touch in there at least on the psychological level to comfort the patient.

AI cannot fully take over doctors job.. There would be a professional there guiding the AI on what to do and to fix any technical glitch.

But would this be more of a general maintenance / repair man for this job - i doubt it would be a fully trained doctor

The truth is that you are speaking in term of 10 to 20  years but you possibly don't know what would happen 1century from now. The question is not whether AI will take over doctors job the true question is when will it happen. I have seen what man is capable of and am gotta tell you, in probably 100 or so years to come AI will have surpass man in almost everything imaginable so we should not be afraid instead brace up for the inevitable. Doctors should know that it gonna happen someday maybe sooner than they expect.

Yea. That's a positive way to look at it. Truth be told, it's a good technology and can be of great use to man kind especially when thoroughly guided and it's purpose well thought over.

Very good article. There is shortage of doctors in most of the countries, AI/machine learning can make doctors job lot easier and patients will receive better treatment.

And give doctors the necessary time they will need to be with their families as well, the advantage of having AI in the medical field are very vast

great article, I am a fan of AI I believe there is more to AI that just cleaning bot or killer bot it can be a force for positive change if it is created and used positively.

I’ve seen some crazy studies they did for modern ai  in diagnosing cancer vs doctors and is really astonishing how far ai has come in a relatively short time I think we will start seeing varying levele of ai popping up especially in medical

That sounds interesting, I may have to have a Google and see if I can find any of these studies. I certainly wouldn't like to solely rely on AI for such important diagnoses though, although as a tool to help, that'd be awesome.

I think it's great the UK is accepting AI technology and running trials on implementing it in our hospitals. You can see all the benefits listed in the article above.

We have free healthcare in the UK and because of this the whole system is strained, it can take hours to be seen by a doctor or GP.

The report in the article says that AI Technology & Robotics will "free up £12.5B worth of resources annually, easing the burden on the system" this would be incredible.

This is of course a very impressive number. Especially in the healthcare sector, where money is always in short supply.
And for me, not only the money is crucial, because the relief through AI and robots can be invested much more time in the personal care

I like your thinking, a lot of people on here are worried about the consequences of replacing human carers with robots and how this might scare older people or be a strange prospect due to the lack of a personal touch. But I think they can use the funds saved by AI & robots and employ carers to work with the robots to offer ultimate care to the poorly.

I agree with you cryptossi. We should not be worried about the consequences of replacing human care with robots, AI will bring very good change in medical industry and for humans.

I'm really not worried about such because no matter how good an AI or robot is, it still needs the presence of humans to functional adequately, so it goes both ways, they are created to simplify our lives and to probably go to a farther extent but at the end, without us, they don't exist and they can not replace humans
