All times are good to enter the cryptocurrency market. - Tim Draper
Do you agree with this guy? All I know is Mr. Draper is a billionaire, huge bitcoin bull and a venture capitalist.
I kinda agree with him when I look at the bitcoin inform of investment vehicle for long-term, not just hit and run kind of investment.
What y'all got to say about this?

No, I don't agree with him. Even at the other financial institute there would be always a good entry and good exit. Obviously, maybe he does not know what he was saying.

Lol. Tim bought his bitcoins at a auction when the price is below $1k. So that's a perfect time purchasing them while the price is very cheap. I agree that during a bullish phase, when the price doesn't hit at peak, you can buy it anytime you want but it is still a gamble.

Although most of us are waiting for the price to really hit the bottom before picking up because of the possible profits we have to make in the future. But Tom has a lot of money to begin with so its easy for him to say that, but for us casuals, timing is everything.

Any time is great to enter, as long as the coin still survive and got chance to become bigger in the future, but there is time to enter to maximise the profit and if you enter at anytime without see the market condition then maybe you will need more time to make the profit, so it is better to pay attention to the market before enter

It is good to buy on dips and sell high. But buying high is highly not recommended as concerning volatility market will fall back when it reaches high and then you will have to wait for longer to get your price back as it has happened this year. So always keep on buying at the dips.

I agree with you and him. But do those of us who are already in it (and may of us for years) get a say in this vote? We're clearly biased. What do we know that those who are running for the hills or saying "told you so" don't? I can't answer that question...that's what worries me.

Your thoughts on this?

I guess that really depends on the situation. at present the price is still quite severe, but on the other hand the price looks quite cheap. whether it's late or not, I think that depends on how you assess the current situation. for me, maybe I better pay attention to the current developments.

I agree with him, so whenever you enter in crypto then it is the right time for you, no matter the market goes up and down because if you intend to invest for the long term, then at least you don't need to worry about markets crashing if predictions are true they the price of bitcoin will touch the highest point in the future.

Anyone who tells you that it's a good idea to buy anything at any price point is out of their fucking minds.  I see this constantly with goldbugs.  Gold crashes?  Good time to buy.  Gold is at its all-time high?  Great time to buy, because it's going to go higher.  Gold is trading sideways for 5 years?  Buy, buy, buy.

i honestly think bitcoin is different. with precious metals, the supply is unpredictable: new technologies can make nonviable mining methods viable, new sources of supply can be found, unprofitable mines become operable again when price rises, etc.

that doesn't apply to bitcoin. not only are bitcoins far more scarce for that reason, but the vast majority of supply has already been mined. it's a race to accumulate, and at some point that reality will sink in for everyone from retail investors to governments. since markets are unpredictable, i believe that's why it's always a good idea to buy some bitcoins (up to what you can afford to lose) if you don't own any.

i don't think this necessarily extends to the entire crypto market like draper says. but he's probably right---altcoins are always gonna suck on bitcoin's teat.

People with a reputation of being a billionaire has a tendency to tell everybody that anytime is a good time o enter cryptocurrency. But to those living cent for a cent, you really cannot flag this down on them. Decisions should be precise and movements should be calculated based on risks and advantages.  In my opinion, this time may not be suitable tpo those wanting to enter cryptoinvestments because the market is way down low. If they are going to act up as mere observer then that will be fine and advantageous for them as they can see the ins and outs of cryptocurrency market.

Crypto isn't fully matured nor it is fully develop, some adjustment will important so it can sustain the market demand and supply. People are having doubts because it have no firm platform and a concrete basis of its creation. If this could be provided, then there will be a huge adoption on crypto market.

Funny that those same people never tell you when it's a good time to sell.  So no, I don't trust this guy Draper's advice.  He could be the richest man in the world, but it's almost irresponsible to tell the public that crypto should be bought with no regard to what its trading at.  That's like Investment 101.  Warren Buffett made his fortune looking for stocks and businesses that could be bought cheaply, and he did his own research to determine that.  He didn't listen to stock market bulls/bears and didn't take tips.

I happen to think bitcoin is at or near its bottom, but there's no way I can say that with any confidence, and public figures should be very careful about giving investment advice.  There are a lot of suckers out there who'll swallow anything, even if it's a baited hook.

Absolutely not.

All the standard things that you would take into consideration while investing in assets, whether securities, real estate, etc. still apply. While you could enter the bitcoin market last year, I wouldn't say that it's the smartest of all ideas given that the prices were skyrocketing and clearly wasn't sustainable.

There will also come a point where adoption will stagnate, in the future, as the markets mature and prices stabilize. At that time, if you enter the market at a time where markets are overheated, you may be making a loss. IMHO, this is bad advice regarding investing, even if you are holding your BTC long term. You still want to have your entry price as low as possible.

I believe in him because there are many people who do daytrade, so he is not talking about something impossible or something from another world, there was always this option to buy at any time and day, everything in this life depends on our own strategy, if have good strategy and good risk management, you can make big profit in this market.

All I know is Mr. Draper is a billionaire, huge bitcoin bull and a venture capitalist.

this is a great advantage that they have because he can buy bitcoin and hold for the next 5 years because he knows that in those 5 years he will not need the money that he is investing in bitcoin

I believe on that, because it doesnt matter on how or when you enter crypto because the price of it is unpredictable, but most of investors are normally enter at bear markets so they can buy coins at cheaper price, but you have to be a wiseman like Tim Draper.

Even though I think now is a good time to enter crypto since its so cheap I still don't recommend it to someone new, I rather them buy a little amount and learn about the blockchain and tech behind it then focusing solely on the price.

This is actually good advice, it's nearly impossible to time any market.  Time in the market always beats timing the market.  The best thing to do is just hold for a long time and not check prices everyday.  Most people that try to day trade end up losing money and don't fall for any of these trading group signal scams.

Yes I do agree with him but investors have different timeframe and profit targets. Some investors wanted to buy and sell bitcoin in a short period of time inorder to profit and other investors prefer for a longterm investments. These just depends on the investors if the rising and falling of bitcoins value are the things that would make them think if they can profit.

If you missed out last year on buying bitcoins when the price was low, then you are getting a new opportunity now to buy at a very low price. We always say, buy LOW and sell HIGH, but nobody listen to us. They do listen to the sceptics and the trolls and they panic too quickly and then they want to come back here and complain to the people who gave them good advice.

Exactly. We spent the first part of this year with people complaining that the price went up too fast, that they didn't have enough of an opportunity to buy, that they didn't own enough, that they wished the price would fall again so they could buy more. Then, as soon as the price does start falling, the same people panic. Not only do they not buy more like they had wanted to just a couple of months prior, but they also panic sell and declare "bitcoin is dead". And then come the next bull run, some of these people will be back, buying in again at a higher price than they sold at, and lamenting yet again that they missed the low prices.

If you believed in the fundamentals of bitcoin and its potential for mass adoption at $20k, then I don't see why you shouldn't still believe in it now. If there has been some massive technical failure which I am not aware of, please do let me know.
