Im a noob and suggest other noobs to just stay the fuck away from trading if your not an expert in such bearish times. I thought i could be mr. wise guy and and make profits if i switch from btc to altcoins and so on, but i would have made much less loss if i just hodl my starting portfolio. Anyway, learned my lesson and now holding my alt- and shitcoins and hope for the best.
If you do not know what you are doing then it is better to stay away from trading, when you are losing money the most important thing is to hold, if you sell, you are confirming your losses, if you hold then when the price goes back to normal your investments will return to normal as well.

You should sell out that holding and wait for the market to regain its value. Currently market is red due to split that is going to happen in August. However the good news is bitcoin and coins will be recovering soon enough as was experienced yesterday with recovery phase. For now do not do any trades or you may wanna buy a coin at this point because you will get bigger profits once it start moving into green zone.
That’s what is going to happen in coming months. Indeed, it is the best time to buy bitcoins but not to sell them off. Selling now will be an idiotic move. Crypto market is indeed going to show huge rise in prices of coins especially bitcoins in coming few weeks. At this moment, no need to waste money on other coins, grab as much bitcoins as possible to be among the benefiters. 
Now all altcoins are recovering, and Bitcoin price is also recovering. Those who bought the coins last week means when the price was down now they can make double profit. Becasue all altcoins almost increased 50%. The Profesional traders will wait and make a profit. If you don't have patience, you will never make a profit in trading.
Traders make there earning by buying when the price is down and sell when the price is up. This is what professional do for profit! If you want to really make money like professional you have to do what professional are doing.

It is not necessary that all new traders have to experience it all so it is better to equip ourselves with knowledge. Last year this is the same situation, most in the crypto market went down too. Ghost month is coming and Segwit drama is not yet over. Trade with caution in a bear market.
Value of alt coins is pegged to bitcoin value. I saw that when bitcoin soared today to 2925 high alt coins most of them even the prominent ones were down. I believe there is something attached to what a satoshi value means to a dollar and like wise the interest comes into various alts. This is what I have seen. Now when the markets stabilize is when one sees the alt coin edging to somewhat a proper kind of a hedged position. Now bitcoin being higher makes purchases of alts more expensive as the satoshi value has increased. Like wise if a fall in bitcoin dramatically changes the scenario of ur holdins even if u see ur alts much higher than ur purchase price. In exceptional cases if some alts have gone up by 200 or 30% is when u actually can say u r in real profit..
I agree with you most of the Altcoins are down but I would suggest you to hold it do not sell it on loss when market will bounce back your all coins would be in green its all about matter of patience you have, I would suggest you to always invest in top 10 alt coins.
These is also my experience. In almost 2 years of trading. So this is my advice to you never sell your holding and wait for the up. Its normal in trading that you will be trap in negative portfolio all you need is patience. this is the best example bitcoins drop 1,900$ and quickly recover in 1 week so you have now profit 700$ of you have 1Bitcoins that's is how trading works. Trading is not a daily earning sometimes you lose but when you have patience it will recover fast. I always say that on all my friend that want go on trading.
Try to take advantage this kind of situaion people had gheir chance to buy altcoins and stocack them hold them while the price is low you have a big chance to earn profit with it i am currently holding some alternative coins too and now if this volume become higher i can say i could make higher profit too. I saw in coinmarketcap all altcoins was moving up, and whether now the right situation to sell it for some altcoins? Altcoin market is damn down . Almost coins are down so its buying time and sell them for a quick profit cause after every day touching lowest they go up for sure . So i think atm traders making quick profits .
Dont BUY any coin untill August 1 wait for the good time to buy All devs and Whales are watching Market only not trading anything ..
only the BIG Whales playing with bitcoin
Traders don't have to make buy and sell for the coins they hold. In poloniex, there is margin trade option which is good if you're okay with short positions. And you can still earn a lot.

I haven't got into trading crypto's just yet. I'll put money in if I believe in the future of a crypto but wasn't setup to trade until now. I'm surprised to see the general positive sentiment on how easy it is to make money from trading alts. I've traded stocks for years and it's definitely not easy, especially for the inexperienced in dealing with a loss position.
The crypto market is super volatile, so I'll just keep an eye on it for now.
These days no profit at all from most of 90 % alternative coins . many of them lost more than 50 % percent if you trade a month ago , so this let me learn by experience that long term investment is risky . hope i get my investment back

As we know, today bitcoin price is falling down, just buy btc or altcoin with low price but stable volume for invest and trade. Image if bitcoin/altcoin never correction/ falling down, how we can find a good price to buy it?. I suggest for you, trade or investment become alternative job not primary. When bitcoin/altcoin falling down you'll not stress or panic. Have a nice day.
If the OP has followed the advice I gave a few post above he will already be on profit instead of being at a loss, if he bought enough bitcoin to lower the price of his investment on bitcoin to get to 2592.5 in average, then he will be in profit at the moment with the price at 2624.92, at this point he could sell or wait for more profits.

If you can't make profit through altcoin-bitcoin, then just convert altcoin into another altcoins, but make sure it's a good coin to buy. If you are not sure to sell/buy altcoins, then just wait for bitcoin's price recover.
Normally, if bitcoin price decline, altcoins will follow to drop as well and vice versa, pay attention before buy and sell your coins.
That's right! but in my experienced for what I did is I trade altcoin to altcoin and sometimes altcoin to Bitcoin.
Just always check the coin first before investing into it. Then apply holding or short term trading.

There are several ways, one is to buy even more bitcoins, this may seem insane but follow me, if you bought 1BTC at 2900 then you need bitcoin to higher than that to get earnings, but if you buy another bitcoin for 2285, the current price, now the average price of each bitcoin goes to 2592.5 so next time the price rises you do not need the price to go as high as before you only need bitcoin to go above 2592.5. You can make earnings by Selling at small corrections of the downtrend and buying at low of it. Refer on technical or structural signs.
