I get used to seeing rapid falls of my portfolio. I bet all good ALTs will recover after BTG thing is over

This sounds about right to me. Just one look at the charts you can see things go up and down. Good alt's will recover in my opinion.

I'm investing in alts and i don't care what others are saying, we already had an example in August, why should be different now? Use swings don't be afraid of them.Buy now and shutdown  PC for a few days if you cannot deal with negative energy accumulated here. Do not buy coins which has no pulse, everything that is 50%-100% under original will recover after. Cool
People are afraid because they don't understand what they are doing. They just blindly follow trends without knowing what is going on. That's also why they will lose money in the long run.

Altcoins are dying and some will be dead. Bitcoin murdered them and now I want to murder my self.

Bitcoin's spot in the sun will be short lived once the two forks finish just like last time with bitcoincash it will drop again. Than all the altcoins will arise from the dead to reclaim there place and we can all make x2 or x3 on them!

Just because they went down for a few days doesn't mean that they are dead?

This logic simply does not work. Bitcoin went up - and as a result most altcoins apart from a few have plummeted in terms of bitcoin pricing, however if you look at the fiat pricing it is actually still at the same level as bitcoin's pump.

Plus, investing in altcoins will always come with that risk of losing.

I think this is just a temporary occurrence, because there will be a hard fork that will affect the value of altcoin, like with bitcoin before there is a hard fork, bitcoin keeps raising its price but after the time approaching bitcoin will also decrease its value. After that bitcoin will again raise the price and behind all that altcoin value will follow the movement of bitcoin.

Yes, mostly agree. But I still wonder why people are sending an unreasonable amount of money to ICO while they would never do the same for an IPO or a seed round  Grin

It's quite obvious to see Altcoins' orices dropping as the fork is near and most of them are awaiting for the airdrops of BTG.
Most of the people i know have sold their Altcoins to receive the free coins. That is the main reason why Altcoins have dropped.
The other reason is the increasing price of Bitcoin which has implemented a decline in Alts price making it drop gradually over the few days.
The Altcoins will rise after the fork when people will sell their BTC and invest in Alts. So don't worry and be patient.

This. Just this, as many others have stated.

The price fall isn't surprising, and this isn't an altcoin crash per se. I really don't see how alts would be dying, especially considering the number of good projects incoming and the sheer number of people willing to put money in them.

Greed is making the alts plunge, but it'll go back to normal in a few days. For the time being, alts are discounted, and it seems like a great time to fill some bags !

Altcoins are alive and well. This is only happening because bitcoin is forking and people want to get into the new currency and sell it as fast as possible to make some money. After that, the money will only flow back into altcoins and ethereum will go up. Ethereum is just an example, but altcoins all together will slowly take their position again.
Yes it will be alive this is into a correlation when bitcoin pump altcoin has dump its value. But, this is only the normal situation in the altcoins market. I agree, the case of hard fork event that is why altcoin are down but does not mean it is dying.

Yes, they can not argue at the bottom, but for a while, while everyone is sitting on the bitcoin, soon everyone will switch to Altcoins  and everything. Then there will be a small equality.

Atlcoins does look a bit slack on price movements and most people nowadays are more focused on bitcoin price movements than altcoin to gain a profit, but do not rule out the price altcoins will continue to be below and unable to moving even higher, there will be a time that of course altcoins price will moving higher and many people will return looking to altcoins as an object to gain a lot of profit in investing.

Just stay calm and HODL as usual. Most alts had their big pump this year and it is due to a correction. To be honset, Bitcoin's tech is old and prone to many issues, If you take a deeper look at other alts, you can see that they have a better technology when it comes to privacy, transaction speed, security and scalability. Bitcoin has an "early-adoption" advantage that's why it's spiking up price so high, but trust me, one or more alt in the future will overcome bitcoin. I'm not saying bitcoin will die, it will still be a store of value but as for new adoption of an altcoin for its blockchain use, there would always be a better alt rather than bitcoin.

When it comes to privacy, one coin I've been looking at is DeepOnion. It's a crypto running on the TOR network, so obviously better privacy than what bitcoin has to offer. They have a solid, and unified team of developers, unlike all the drama that BTC has right now with miners vs core programmers lol. Some features include a hybrid POS/POW coin mining, DeepVault (your guarantee that nothing changes once it's in the blockchain record), Deepsend (a mixer under escrow payment) and a whole lot more of game changing attribute of this crypto. I suggest you check this out in Nova Exchange, or their currently running airdrop here in bct forum.
