Switched to a linux-based build of the wallet and BAM -
http://amber.explorer.ssdpool.com:9146/address/APBHafBLV3rW7WMxezq6Sq2QdqVg21HFAJ/25

Possible problem with Qt and OS X build of the wallet.

"2 factors" - there are more, that's called "not-so-simple" economics.

The main philosophy for crypto currencies is de-centralized management and the discouragement of outside pricing influence.
This coin is 51% pre-mine, and a single entity has an enormous impact on it's price (Bitcoin's Genesis block https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Genesis_block).
That said, this ideal seems to be basically profiteering - with an investment angle on a very small segment of mineral trade.
Emphasis on "very small".

except this coin is 80% premined, and amber trade owns the other 51% of the corporation not available for shares, with 0 possibility of us taking that via amber coin

In essence, this coin seems to be an open-sourced way to do an IPO, which has it's merits.
Keep in mind the main entity can cash-out when they see fit, thus, increasing speculation and volatility.

kinda proving my statement that amber trade controls the future of this coin

"Pumping" the coin in the banner media is likely going to result in more active trade volume - i.e. perceived volatility.
Oddly, the best thing for this coin may be to mine and sell it for a short time. This should gradually increase the price
and provide investors with a cheaper source of coins (perhaps cheaper than mining).

In my opinion, this coin is meant only for profit - when I sense the time is right, I'm going to be the first one to the door.

good luck pumping it 5% over what anything with bitcoin can purchase it directly from the source for. sure 10-20 coins may go over that, but good luck getting rid of 10k plus in that manner

We agree, for the most part - that seems good enough to me.

My guestimate, on pre-mined coins is based on the sale of the 3.92M coins.
Where we part ways is how you said "you guys don't get simple economics" - this is simply not true.

I also don't know why anyone would buy them from Amber Trade when you can get a better price on C-CEX.
I think you'd be crazy to buy more than 10K or so, at this point.

there are 2 factors that can cause the rapid rise or fall of price... both are amber trade. their offer to buy direct from them sets a reasonable ceiling until that round of coins is finally sold off. the only thing that will cause the coin to crash is them not paying dividends. as far as i'm concerned the coin's btc value itself is only a small fraction of the actual value associated with it. adding more exchanges has 0 influence over this. more exchanges means more exposure and the possibility of people buying more coins directly from amber trade. while that will eventually increase the price for everybody it affects our dividends none, and will eventually increase the value of our coin by amber trade increasing their direct purchase share price.

and seriously... i don't think you guys get simple economics. if the price on amber crashed tomorrow do you know what that means??? i can buy more amber coin with the same amount of money, downright awful if you ask me.

No other exchange is needed right now. Cryptsy will only cause rapid price increase and then sudden fall...
The risk of that will be much smaller, when there is more shareholders.

just forget about cryptsy/exchange

right now not only trader, even an exchange speculating in a new coin
with fast profit coin

they never know about Amber, only thinking that Amber ,same like other coin.

right now we have enough exchange i think,.so the best to do is doing marketing to make this coin popular,.
to show that Amber valuable and different than other
THEN THE PEOPLE WILL COME TO THE EXCHANGE WE HAVE
when it happens then exchange will compete to add us

Ps : i hope banner advertising can be immediately implemented

AMBER has no volume to be present in many exchanges - everyone just buy and hold - exchanges need minimum volumes etc. AMBER is coin for investing, sells are rare, there is no pump and dump possible - coin is backed by real amber and coin pumpers-dumpers can not change the real amber price. I see near future with one or two well-known exchange, just possibility for investors to simplify AMBER sell and buy their (personal) occasional/accidental reason.
AMBER may get exchange volume on "aftermarket time" - when Company coins are all sold, initial mega-profits are decreased to normal investing profits and stable market price makes AMBER one of preferred exchange and monetary instruments. Like you own USD, EUR, CNY, gold, Apple stock, you own AMBER too. And then AMBER needs Cryptsy. And they come.
I think Mig-23 is right - best to do now is marketing - being present everywhere, where it is free and/or costs little effort Smiley .

yes,..we just need to promote or introduce about Amber
banner advertising maybe the best way for our options,we place it in to crypto news like;coindesk,cointelegraph,..etc
we make people to come to us,we make people to come to the exchange we have
when it happens, then we don't need to ask an exchange to add us,..maybe they will come to us
lets to calculate,.
which more effective,..pay for voting or pay for banner advertising

as we know on cryptocoin, many trader and dev only FUD and TROLL to make the coin rising...this is very very bad marketing
we have to use a different strategy

@Ambercoin dev
i hope you understand what our means

Anyone have any clue why we haven't been added to Cryptsy yet?  I have tweeted to Big Vern with no response.  We have been at the top of the list for over 3 weeks now.  Just curious as to how their voting system works? - pokeytex

cryptsy just want collect btc first i think,..
they never know the potential of this coin
lets the time to open their eyes

They collected our community's btc like 3 months ago.
Their voting system works for sure but nobody knows how exactly. Smiley

I emailed them a couple of weeks ago asking them to add AMBER.  I pointed out that AMBER has been 1 or 2 in their poll for months and that its a solid coin people will want to invest in.  I also asked how long a coin has to be #1 in their poll before they add it.

here is the response I got:

"Thank you for contacting us.

Unfortunately we cannot make public our formula used for selecting coins or they will just be custom made to meet what standards we look for.

There is no guarantee any coin will be listed. We have added your coin to the vote list and as it climbs to the top it will catch the attention of our dev team who adds Coin Markets. If a coin is deemed suitable for market then one will be created at the pace of the development team.

For more information on our selection process please visit http://blog.cryptsy.com/post/78664147410/new-coin-voting-feature

Thank you."

This is just a huge crock of BS.  There are so many crap coins on Cryptsy right now its not even funny.  I have  worked with many coins and Amber is one of the more solid coins and certainly better than some scam coins that are traded on cryptsy.  I think the trick is to get AMBER listed on all the sites like CoinWarz - including Coinwarz.  If they see it listed enough, maybe it will get the attention of their developers.    In the meantime, it doesn't hurt to barrage them with emails asking why not AMBER and when they plan to add it.

I think getting lists on Cryptsy will be a huge benefit to the coin.

I have about 5 Orphaned out of 50-60 blocks everything's fine for me!

Does the 30 days max stake age is still there?

My wallet today is rejecting some, lets say about 5% max. Previously I had about 90...95% orphans. I remember then I tested Coin Magi (XMG), cpuminer worked with all 4 computer cores firing 100% up. So, sgminer with 2 x Radeon280x, cpuminer with all cores and wallet. Everything overloaded Smiley Windows 7pro64, Windows wallet, 10 connections.
Please investigate processor, memory and I/O load - somewhere may be bottleneck. Today I see orphans time-at-time, not every 20 or 30 normal block, there are for example orphan, normal, orphan, orphan, normal, normal, orphan, 27 normal, 1 orphan, 48 normal - like waves (of bottleneck?). 4-core i5 and 8 GB RAM, sgminer 5 with 1 Radeon card, wallet with 10 connections, Windows 7, nothing more.
NB! My previous 90...95% orphans and my Magi/xmg/cpuminer experiment was EXACTLY the time AMBER staking beginned (the time bitcointalk.org was hacked and down). So my theory of "bottleneck" may be not true. Can be some test period of staking or some little bug in staking starting process or some AMBER network hacking attempt.

12 of the 14 PoS transactions were rejected in my wallet today.
I just did a fresh re-sync of the blockchain, something doesn't seem quite right.
I'm not getting much info from the debug.log file.

I'll hope to have a closer look at the source code this weekend, to maybe see why this is happening.

Here are the last 4 failed transactions, if anyone else is getting this same error:

so it worked? i have a subpar internet connection so i have syncing issues on the reg. i've actually had better success staking amber than i have a lot of other coins as far as the reject %.

f yeah bleutrade added while i was typing  Grin

make sure your internet connection is good,..
my staking working fine
i have orphan too but i think orphan is normal in any coin,..just wait and we will see the next stake

Seriously? It's not my internet connection....Diamond Coin has no issues like this - it's also a PoS coin.
12 of 14 failed attempts per day with a fresh blockchain tells me something is broken.
Try leaving your wallet open all day and see what happens(?)
I can't be the only person having this issue - most people probably don't even look in the "transactions" tab.

is this your first time you stake coin,..lol
even tekcoin and hyperstake have orphan
sometimes orphan and the next time we got good stake..and always like that on any coin

Ok, I'm going to be more specific.....NOT MY FIRST RODEO.
Some rejects - I GET IT....BUT 12 A DAY OUT OF 14 TOTAL ATTEMPTS?

Is anyone else with over 10k Amber having this experience - THAT'S WHAT I'M ASKING.
I don't need help fixing, just gathering data to point me in the right direction.

Actually, I'll just look at the code and figure it out for myself....

yes me too,.like i mentioned
sometimes orphan and the next time we got good stake
and i tell you that whatever happens in your stake ,you got 25% of pos interest like other

Look, I know you're trying be helpful (I think) - but,
ARE YOU EXPERIENCING 12 FAILED STAKES A DAY WITH OVER 10K AMBER???!!!!?Huh
Simple question...ugh.

Pokey - thanks, you are helpful as always:)
