It shouldn't be the same. Do you restart the miner when you apply higher clocks? If you keep the miner running while increasing the memory clock, you might not see any improvement in the hash rate. Gotta restart the miner.

getting steady 26.6 MH/s so it's ok, way better than before. I left the target temp on 67C because the cooling on this specific model is not very good and if i set the temp lower then the fan will get pretty loud.
At the moment you're better off mining ETN than ETH. Not only you'd earn ~ 25% more, but your card will also be cooler and quieter (since it's cryptonight algo so it's not as power hungry as Dagger).

The most likely reason for those dips you're getting is overheating. Set target temp to 60C. And try to increase memclock over 2000 MHz. After that try lowering voltage in small steps. Keep in mind that your "memory voltage" should be less than or equal to your core voltage. So if you set 950mv in the left column for the core, you also need to set it to 950mv in the right column, where you memory clock is.

Okay i tried a few things, i did a clean install of the latest driver (17.11.2, i had 17.11.1). I modded the bios with the 1st timing that you suggested me, i closed MSI AB and got OverdriveNTool, got these settings for now: core:1200, memory:2000, vcore:950, target temp 73C, max temp 90C, acoustic limit 900 MHz.

I ran a first attempt with NiceHash on DaggerHashimoto for 15 minutes with the driver toggle on "Graphics" and i got around 26.6 MH/s but after a while it dipped down to 20 MH/s, max temp 73C and fan speed 40%.

Second attempt (currently running for 25 mins) driver toggle on "Compute", started at 27.2 MH/s, currently running at ~26.5 MH/s, 72C fan speed 39%.

I guess these hashrates are looking more normal now.

About the drivers i'm using the latest ones (not the blockhain ones), haven't tried blockchain drivers since i'm using this gpu/pc for occasional gaming too and i thought blockchain drivers would affect gaming perfomance (not sure about this).
Latest amd drivers now have a switch that allows you to select between workloads, so I guess there's no need to install the blockchain drivers anymore.

Just to be sure i should copy those timings on the 2000 strap right?
Yes, if you're mining at memclock above 2 GHz then all you need is to just change that single strap.

About the temps i'm getting max 77C with fan speed going between 33 and 50% only, power consumption on msi afterburner is 107w max.
That's too high. Use proper software for clocks/voltages, OverdriveNtool is good. MSI AB is no good for AMD cards, it doesn't have enough controls to properly tune Polaris cards. Most cards are stable @ ~ 0.9-0.925V at 1200 MHz, and you're running yours at higher voltage than you have to. Hence it's too hot and you're wasting electricity as well.

That's too low. After seeing 23 MH/s only I'd assume the wrong drivers (not blockchain or the latest ones with the compute switch), but then the cryptonight hashrate should be higher with any drivers. Try more aggressive timings like these:

Edit: forgot to mention that i'm not changing voltage or clocks on the bios, i use msi afterburner for this.

Hello guys, i'm new here, i recently started mining with my pc, i'm using a gigabyte rx 580 gaming 8g with samsung memory and modded the bios by copying 1750 strap to 2000. I'm currently using NiceHash for mining but i feel like my hashrate is lower than it should be, CryptoNight(sgminer) on nicehash gives me around 585 H/s on average, DaggerHashimoto does like 23 MH/s max and it dips down to 18 MH/s most of the time, Equihash does around 271 H/s.

Running the card with these settings: core:1200 memory:2100 vcore:-93.

Would you recommend to change some of my settings? Is there any other bios mod that would help me further?
That's too low. After seeing 23 MH/s only I'd assume the wrong drivers (not blockchain or the latest ones with the compute switch), but then the cryptonight hashrate should be higher with any drivers. Try more aggressive timings like these:

Something is wrong there...strap copy is not perfect, but numbers you get are way too low

I agree with what was posted above the additional 6PIN connector is not necessary if you keep the GPU clock below 1250 Mhz. I also have the Nitro 570+ and works like a charm.

One of my 570 Nitro+ NEEDS 8+6, without 6 it's not stable.

It's just interesting that a higher, more powerful GPU that has a 225w max tdp don't need the 6-pin to run while it's younger brother that's supposed to run slower and cooler needs it.

Try lowering both of your voltages to 900 or 875, as your 1125 clocks don't need much voltage anyway.

I believe if your cards don't consume >150w at the wall, it won't be needing that 6-pin plugged.

Guys, I am struggling for two days now, maybe someone could help.

I have 6 x Sapphire RX 580 Nitro+ 8 GB and I am not able to use 6 of them. My bios is modded properly and they work fine if I use up to 4 cards in a rig. But once I get more than 4 cards - I have cards visibility problem.

I have tried numerous drivers options, blockchain drivers work the best, but they only get 4 cards max to work (for some reason, they work if the patch is no applied).

I have also tried configuring motherboard bios, disabled secure boot and switched PCI-E to Gen2.

Is there any possibility that my motherboard (Asus H170) is not able to take on more than 4 cards? One of the power connectors is not plugged in (Molex/M2).

Has someone else experienced this? Does this look like a purely driver issue?

I found that on the Asus H270 you need to enable "Above 4G Decoding" in the BIOS to get it to see more than 4 cards.

I would try checking all your connections and make sure your power supply is large enough for all those cards.

Also I've seen that after mods the drivers may need to be reinstalled.

Not only that, some people took straps, put rig into fridge, ran 16.x MH/s and scammed some people for 0.3ETH

That's why I don't blame you or others to be secretive of their discoveries aka bios mods as we spent precious time and effort doing it up to the wee hours of the morning. it's not remotely fair to just give it away.

I do try to help in my own little way and extend a hand, but people mostly want the whole arm.

Sorry but I did all the work myself without heeding any help from someone.

There's tons of information all over the internet and you need very basic skills to get the information what you need if you know where to look and how to look.

A great man once said "if you're good at something, never do it for free".

I guess that's clear enough.

Unreal.  Tons of people here share stuff to help each other out.  Nobody knows everything. The whole point of the board is to come together and be better than we would be individually.  If that isn’t your philosophy then why are you here? 

Your own statements in the same post are mutually exclusive too.  You say you did it all yourself. You also say the info is all over the internet.  Did you write your own BIOS editor?  Did you write your own overclocking and hardware monitoring tools?  Did you invent how to modify timings or create the base BIOS you started with?

Do as you please but don’t expect people to be impressed with you here when you are boasting of your own “success”with nothing to provide to the greater community.  If the developers of all the cryptocoin were that way none of us would have any of it.  As a developer myself I have a great deal of respect for the elite ones working in this space.  The very best are also a great deal more humble than you seem to be.  Maybe you’ll reconsider but I certainly won’t beg you or bother anymore.

In my short time as a member here, i’ve helped alot of member already more than I can remember. But I recall them doing something on their part and not asking to be spoonfed. You said you’re a developer? Then why this simple bios mod is giving you lot of difficulty? Even a non-IT guy can do it, why can’t you?

Information is all over the internet man, you just  have to be witty to find them. Yes, i did all the research and bios modding myself with  the help of the info I gathered. But no one, NOT A SINGLE SOUL gave me their bios for free or for a fee. No one would bother.

Do you realize why there’s a dev fee when you use Claymore’s miner? Of course he’s not doing it for free! Why would he? This isn’t charity. There’s no free lunch. If you wanna be spared from research and good ‘ol trial-and-error? Cough up some eth or fiat and be willing to pay. That’s the easiet way to get a superb bios.
