Do all rx580 come with a 6 pin power connector, or do some require 6+2 power to run correctly?

Actually, some need both 6 and 8 pin connectors (or, as you call them, 6+2)

I have the same cards and they happily mine with only the 8-pin connector plugged.

Yes they do...I was just answering the question Cheesy

But they don’t *need* both 8 and 6 pin to run.

I guess a better statement would be “yes, most cards has an 8-pin connector but some comes with 8+6-pin. However, they don’t need both connectors to mine IF you undervolt.”

There! 😊

By longer you mean >3 years for eth?

They'd be long gone to PoS before 4GB cards aren't capable enough in mining ETH.

I don't sell my cards so i'm okay with 4GB.

theres other algos to mine though that will hit the 4GB limit in 2019 but i get what you are saying if u never sell cards

sale on these cards

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131720

8GB for 259 lowest I have ever seen a 580 for sale

these cards any good ?

WoW! Prices have certainly dropped on the RX580's looks like the mining bubble is starting to show signs of deflating. Hope these are in stock and not just on back order.

That’s a good price. But if a Gaming X or Nitro+ is available too with a slight price difference, i’d take these rather than the Power Color ones, as they have poor cooling.

I got 4gb Rx580 Nitros last week in Newegg as well for only $302cad or $235usd.

Eight of them 😆

I know 4gb cards are cheap but i prefer 8gb since they have better resale and can mine eth etc or ubiq longr

Please see above.

I'm actually leaning more on answers about stability and if they can survive for weeks on end without a hiccup.

Share your BIOS and settings so people with that card can test it for you Smiley

Anyone got Rx580 Nitro+ Elpida 4gb to hash >31Mh and stable?

I had more than 30 MH on that card also Elpida, 31 maybe if you are really lucky.

I did actually got them to hash >31 (31.3 exactly) but only during testing 3 cards. Haven't tried on all 8 of them - I guess there's only one way to find out.... Grin

Anyone got Rx580 Nitro+ Elpida 4gb to hash >31Mh and stable?

I think thats a lot to ask Smiley

Am giving up on the Gigabyte Aorus rx580 8GB(hynix H5GC8H24MJ)! This card is hopeless.

I am trying to get it installed and perform well on a win10 rig with 2x1070 and 4x1060 cards thats already running stable.

I UNINSTALLED MSI afterburner beta 19.
I then boot in safe mode and run DDU to remove AMD drivers and prepare for card installation.
To make sure it's not a power issue, I removed 2x1060 cards from the rig.
I installed Gigabyte Aorus rx580 8GB(hynix H5GC8H24MJ) and booted into win10.
I installed the blockchain driver(driver only, other options unchecked).
Next I installed the atikmdag patcher.
Next I rebooted and then installed MSI afterburner beta 19.

I checked MSI afterburner beta 19 and found that I can't modify core voltages.
I tried running claymore10 with: -mode 1 -platform 1 -benchmark 145 -tt -80 -tstop -79 -cclock 1100 -cvddc 950
result: 24Mh/s 100W(gpuz power draw) and temps rapidly climbing to 79C(terminating claymore10) even with fans at 80% and 950mV was IGNORED

I tried running claymore10 with: -mode 1 -platform 1 -benchmark 145 -tt -80 -tstop -79 -cclock 1000 -cvddc 950
result: 24Mh/s 90W(gpuz power draw) and temps rapidly climbing to 79C(terminating claymore10) even with fans at 80% and 950mV was also IGNORED

I tried running claymore10 with: -mode 1 -platform 1 -benchmark 145 -tt -80 -tstop -79 -cclock 900 -cvddc 950
result: 22Mh/s 85W(gpuz power draw) and temps rapidly climbing 79C(terminating claymore10) even with fans at 80% and 950mV was also IGNORED

I installed sapphire trixx to try to undervolt.

undervolt by: -156mV
I tried running claymore10 with: -mode 1 -platform 1 -benchmark 145 -tt -80 -tstop -79 -cclock 900
result: 22Mh/s 80W(gpuz power draw) and temps stable at 69C with fans at 80% and vcore:0.89mV

running higher core clock regardless of undervolt results in temps climbing to 79C(terminating claymore10)
anything at or above 85W (gpuz power draw) results in temps climbing to 79C(terminating claymore10)

this is all done with stock bios. help???!!!

modify them, it has now a lot of tutorials on how to do this, it could help lower temps, power consumption and higher hash rates.

see this topic.
