We have begun the "airdrop" with a current 100K block move among the SNF GiveCoin* wallets which results in a minimum 1,000 2GIVE block reward by way of the 1% mandatory minimum TXFEE.

Every wallet is eligible to compete via "setgenerate true" in the Help / Advanced Options / Console or from the command line.

We are currently pushing transactions every 30 minutes to help seed the future Proof of Stake eligibility in the network which will make the chain self-sufficient after the first 30 days.

We plan to increase velocity to a 20 minute cadence once we see additional stable connections on the seed nodes.

ADDITIONALLY:  Once Bittrex gets its 2GIVE wallet plumbed into their system we will begin RANDOMLY moving 1M coin blocks to them which will create 10,000 coin rewards.  We'll announce that window when we get the Give* address from them.

NOTE:  The current Strength in Numbers Foundation (SNF) nodes are NOT competing -- furthermore the GiveCoin* wallets have their staking disabled at the moment which means the POS activity will be largely on you the stakeholders.   If after 30 days there are not sufficient stakeholders running live wallets staking, SNF reserves the right to enable staking in its genesis GiveCoin* wallets in the interest of chain stability as well as producing additional coins for distribution.

Me too still no luck after 24 hour  Cry

Lucky miner

LOL - yah I saw that!  Not sure who that is -- likely one of the fans on Facebook page since we announced the RC1 there first.

Ultimately what I want to do is move the dialogue off of bitcointalk to our own hosted "simple machines" site -- that is plumbed into an LDAP system for single sign-on (SSO) so people can take credit for their "stake"

This will be an important next step on the roadmap to enabling "stakeholder voting" with a "Get Verified" option that will use the digital signature features of the wallet to prove your ownership of a Give* address.  Once verified your status and rank in the community will be based on STAKE as well as things like how much you have given to the network in terms of TXFEE's and of course Hall of Fame status for generosity to recognized charities.

It's one of the ways we can cut down on the "haters" who come in here and trash talk the coin -- I don't mind if you're a stakeholder and have a vested interest in the ecosphere going forward.  As long as people can be "tough on the ideas and soft on people" -- all dialogue is welcome!

Just because you're mining doesn't mean your miner found a block.

Obviously others have:

https://www.blockexperts.com/2give

In a two hour window there would have been a minimum of four chances to win the reward.  When there are more transactions on the chain there will be more chances to earn the 1% minimum TXFEE that is wired into every coin SEND TX.

2GIVE is unlike other chains in that it was designed from the ground up to focus on VALUE -- the mining code in the wallet does not endlessly try to find a block if there is nothing to work on -- only when there is TX in the memorypool does it wake up and try to mine a block when SETGENERATE TRUE.

The chain rejects empty blocks -- so there is no incentive for a large mining pool to try and mine 2GIVE -- except when it perceives that the block reward would be worth having.

i have to run wallet for how much hours to get airdrop.

We have slow started the Air Drop to every 30 minutes -- a block of 100,000 coins will move from one seed node to another and there is a mandatory 1% TXFEE which means a chance to win 1,000 2GIVE every half hour.

Be sure to set the wallet to "setgenerate true" to enable the mining

The Air Drop has begun in earnest!

Every 30 minutes a 100K block is being pushed out to a node that will eventually send the 250M coins to Bittrex for the swap.

This means every 30 minutes you have a chance to win 1,000 2GIVE coins by running your wallet as a miner*

I'm trying to send my coins to bittrex.com. I also get 0 connections with this addnode. I'm using a really old version on windows called givecoin-qt.exe

should be up

tcp        0      0 0.0.0.0:31415           0.0.0.0:*               LISTEN      2296/givecoind

(FWIW the original Givecoin devs had it listening on port 31415 -- aka "pi" Tongue )

you could try and exclusive

The second Release Candidate (RC2) has been pushed to the site!  This release includes several small fixes including the "out of sync" error and for the first time includes the new Icons from Peacetime Propaganda

I'm all set for the “AIRDROP” with the wallet loaded and reporting “out of sync” at the 511 block height and have set “setgenerate true”. Smiley

Also, I built the wallet from the git source code but needed to remove the line BOOST_LIB_SUFFIX=-mt from the .pro file to get it to build under Ubuntu 14.04.  Is this the correct thing to do?  (A search showed this answer to my build error: The -mt suffix had been removed. The installed Boost libraries are multi-threading safe.)

Yeah sorry, the "out of sync" has been fixed in the Release Candidate Two (RC2) that I'm hoping to push yet tonight.

The boost stuff varies a little on each environment, depending on how it's installed (as packages or built up from source) -- there is a sufficient amount of error detection in the system that if there is an issue it will throw an exception -- you can also scan your debug.log file to see if there is anything unusual there.

Thank you for joining us!  Really appreciate the feedback and support...

Yes, that is right.
Sorry, I did not notice.

It's okay -- easy mistake !  This is a new concept having POW+POS -- a lot of thought and research went into it's design -- I hope you will consider joining our stakeholder rewards economy!

Also the new block explorer is online

* Using "lottery" tongue in cheek here -- no purchase necessary, just download the wallet software and turn on "setgenerate true" in the Advanced Console or via commandline if you're running a daemon version wink emoticon

Is not so actual. Now the number of blocks greater than 500:
Code:
2GiveCoind getblockcount
511

POW mining is limited to 500 blocks:

The POW blocks now ONLY earn whatever TXFEE's are in them -- no subsidies...look at the "flags" below for proof

We are preparing to start the "AIRDROP" !!

We will be moving blocks of 100K coins around among the seed nodes shortly in preparation for the BIG SENDS to Bittrex.

Working through the final numbers now, but the plan is to put 1000 coin rewards (1% mandatory TXFEE) onto the chain for everyone to compete for by mining at a 15-30 minute interval (TBD) for the next 30 days so that when Proof of Stake eligibility kicks in, the chain will become self-sustaining with POS blocks popping at a reliable cadence.

The Bittrex "lottery"* will involve moving around 250 1M coinblocks to the exchange in preparation for the swap from V1 to V2 -- offering everyone the chance to compete for 100K coin rewards!!

* Using "lottery" tongue in cheek here -- no purchase necessary, just download the wallet software and turn on "setgenerate true" in the Advanced Console or via commandline if you're running a daemon version wink emoticon
