I made a patch to CNC difficulty adjustment algorithm.
It'll be retargeting every block by a small percentage, just like in PPCoin and Novacoin.
If it's ok, the hard fork is planned for Oct 1. The previous update made 2 months ago planned a fork for block 60500, with current hasrate it would take years to reach.
I'll publish my repo later.

Yes, block 60,500 is a crazy target, way too far off to be practical.
You will have to get places like Cryptsy, Bter, BigVern's pool, to run with it. All references to the source on the net point to the Chinese code and not your fork. Ideally you should try an PM the devs or at least the use CHNcoin on this forum let them know what you are doing.
Not sure if Oct 1st. is enough time for all that.
Yes, are these places the only ones? Can you provide the full list? I also know cryptocoinexplorer.
I'd need a a man with mining stuff to test the code on testnet. He'll need to build CNC from sources himself though (so linux is better). PM me if interested.

What version did you install? the 0.6.3 in the OP is not the latest, we are up to 0.6.4 in the Github source tree. There are like only two people mining it, 5MH/s into a 41 diff, she ain't no speed demon that's for sure! Currently a couple of blocks per day. Help mine and things will improve, the coin is most likely quite salvageable, there are over 5mill in circulation, most bought at a much higher price than they are going for now, still fetching more than a lot of the newer alt coins.chncoind getblockcount

I find on Windows, if the client stalls downloading the block chain, if I quit out of it and relaunch it eventually starts downloading. Sometimes I have to quit and relaunch several times.
The pool that's still mining if you want to help out, is http://www.chnpool.com I think it's the only one since August.
