Same here. None of the faucets works with any of my 3 long time in use addresses. First and last give no response (and does say wait 50 blocks for your donation address), second just gives capcha error every time. LOL. I don't know where those 66 coins go, but people keep telling you your faucet does not work.

Make sure you are not using an exchange address. All of the faucets should be up and running fine if you have a valid waves address.

Yes, I want to make AQUA as easy as possible to develop for. I personally want to make something like AQUApay, a super easy to use standalone wallet.

I liked back in the day how SYNC had 1,000 coins. Plus, doesn't it just make things more exciting?   AQUA supports up to 8 decimals (1000.00000000) so it should be OK. Anybody that wants some AQUA can have some.

edit - the waves blockchain shouldn't have any problems sending small amounts like bitcoin does now.

Why just 1000 total coin? people need AQUA

They work. AQUA won't be given every time, it is random. This will help limit abuse and increase the range of distribution. It will take some time for all of the coins to be given away.


AQUA will be released at random for free through the three faucets linked to in the original post. There are no bounties at this time.

Current Update

I have spent the last few evenings revamping my plans for AQUA. As I've been working, I've learned a lot about what AQUA should be. I want to get things right the first time. AQUA will now be the official asset of Vessel Hub (an "aqua hub"), that will house all of the projects and services that utilize AQUA and other top assets. The AQUA name will be dropped from the title of the projects, as the applications will have much broader functionality. They will all utilize the AQUA asset front and center and other assets like BTC, WAVES, WBTC, WCT, and RBX will be integrated.

Lots of cool things are happening behind the scenes. There are no set timelines. I will work on things when I have the opportunity and release updates as they are ready. The previous bounties that I had planned aren't viable with the current market price, it's best to hold on to them for now. If you want fast money, you should probably just sell your AQUA now. If you have patience, it will be worth holding onto an AQUA or 2.  

Note on Asset IDs

As I've stated several times, the faucets are empty. They will not be refilled.

Don't trust any token until you check the asset id. The user is responsible for checking the asset id of their tokens. The waves platform currently allows the same name to be used an unlimited amount of times. You can see multiple duplicates in this list: http://dev.pywaves.org/assets/. The asset id should be treated as the real identifier of an asset.

Asset IDs that do not match the tokens asset id listed on TIDEX cannot be traded there. In the case of AQUA, that asset id is 6CmM5wWAhAXKeF8pCmep3tNjyALS7xLL4BpHgaD6rf9L

This asset id is listed in the main post of this thread, on twitter, on the website, and on slack. It is up to you to do your own quick checking.

There is a lot of valid criticism about waves allowing the same asset name to be used more than once. There is also valid reasoning behind the decision to allow duplicate names. So for now, that is the system that we have.

On the DEX, you will have to manually select and verify the asset id before it can be traded.
