Is there any chance we get p2pool configurations up and running ?
for now, its just centralized pools..
not good long term.

I think that is being explored, though somebody please correct me if I am wrong.

I worked on a fork of p2pool for UTC, the result is good enough, still in final testing, i will release it in a few days, here's the current url, if anyone wants to help with test:

http://thepool.pw:8336

you can point your miners to http://thepool.pw:8336 with your UTC address as username.

help testing much appreciated, thank!

Awesome!

Cool, I will set up p2pool too, if you share the code. So we at least have two, for fall back ?

Of course i will share the code, that's the point of having p2pools, i just need to make sure it works fine before i can share it, i will try to finish up the tests in the next few days, the fork is ready and accepts the shares, i need to make sure payments are sent when a block is found, also fix the difficulty settings, cpu mining looks fine, gpus still get HW errors until the difficulty sent to them is higher, but overall looks good!

Your tests results will be very helpful.

Ok, redirecting some of my hash power to your pool. Hope will receive some coins Smiley

Great, thanks, help much appreciated, don't worry, if a block is found and there is a problem with payment (probably not), i will manually send due coins!

What should I set intensity to ? 280x, been on 12 with normal pools.
switched to yout p2pool, and just hw errors in thousands Smiley

Tried I=8, tried I=10, I=12, I=20
getting just hw errors

I'll point a miner over too, soon as I get a chance. That'll put around 600KHs.

If you do browse to the chat test (http://ultracoin.net/chat.html), please note that the Chat Rooms are located to the left. You'll have to join the UTC General.

Also, please let me know what you think or if you have any recommendations/ideas/etc.

@halofirebtc
don't worry about utc price dropping a lil bit, ppl are selling utc to invest into other coins. They'll be back.

Damn UTC is bleeding on the exchanges and buy orders getting removed!! Sad all the same coins are growing!!

we need media of PUMP attention! i know that this is not a pump coin but we need to get some notice! that people are talking about it!
you see it now with BC ( blackcoin ) it getting pumped right now and every exchange is talking about it!!

meby a joint venture that we can raise some BTC to get a community pump going?

Last buy on UTC one hour ago for the rest all sells, if we dont do anything now!! there is nothing to sell anymore

So STOP bitching about your miner settings, because if your mining coins have no value what are you doing?

Cool.

On a side note, I think I am going to put together a page on the power efficiency of UTC mining in addition to overclocking guides and pre-modded bios files. I have several different cards (Sapphire, ASUS, Gigabyte, PowerColor) so I should have a nice assortment. And with that in mind, if anybody else has any recommended BIOS's or settings, I could toss them up there as well. Might as well save yourselves some money! Power ain't cheap after all. Smiley

@IronEagle

Use a different pool. There are many viable alternatives.

Thats exactly what I've been waiting for, it will be a great addition to the community. Here are my Sapphire r9 280 dual x settings:

--scrypt-jane --sj-nfmin 4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1388361600 -w 256 -g 2 -I 12 --thread-concurrency 16384 --no-submit-stale --lookup-gap 2 --expiry 10 --scan-time 1 --queue 0 --gpu-fan 55

I get 550kh+ total hash with 510 WU with this setting. Gpu clock 1045 for two cards and 1070 for the other two (four cards on the rig), mem clock 1500 and vdcc 1174. Rig pulls 1020w total from the wall. Catalyst driver crashes if I up gpu clock, and I think that vdcc can be lowered with a better bios. Looking forward for this website. Cheers  Smiley

Thanks. And it'll probably be an extension to the current UTC website at www.ultracoin.net. Might as well make that a centralized hub.

Furthermore, the chat system is still in the works. I've opted to use Freichat but I have to figure out where the styling conflicts with the main site's template. Right now, if I integrate it, the page doesn't load properly. Here is the test environment if you guys want to have a peek. Really nothing special:

Hi,
so the 550 khs are for 4 cards ? That is ~ 137 khs/card, right ?
cpu+mb+ram is around 80 W ? so around 240W/card.
Right

141khs @1070 clock, 135khs @1045 clock, and around 230w per card (additional ventilators, wireless usb card etc.) Cheers  Smiley
